I can’t tell if there is enough reason to play the attack boost. It definitely comes up but how often would that versatility be better than an extra hand trap or piece of consistency-engine
I've tested with both jiaolong and pluton it allows you to activate jiaoling effect with an ash or kurikara
So question.
Does Pluton HG's effect let you just Quick Effect out Borger or Varius on your opponents turn cause they say Main Phase but not specifically yours so does it work like that or nah?
The trap kills the rock because the new vs in the artwork has beaten it as shown in rock's artwork where the spear is through him. Its basically LORE
The new cards are based on Jin Kisaragi, so ill be referring to jialong as jin.
Here's a 2 card combo with the new support.
Stake your soul + any non razen fire:
1. Stake your soul reveal fire summon razen.
2. Razen search Jin.
3. Razen reveal Jin to become immune to card destruction.
4. Jin special summon because you revealed for effect.
5. Razen link into rock.
6. Rock add back razen
7. Jin reveal razen and the fire that you used for stake your soul and add madlove.
8. Normal madlove, add the trap.
9. On opponent's turn, jin reveal razen and the other fire to search Borger.
10. Rock summon razen, search caesar.
You now have all attributes in hand, so you have a board wipe. If you bounce back madlove for Borger, you get your draw, and can special her off the trap for another spell/trap search. If your opponent has nothing else after you wipe their board, you are in otk range
After searching for Borger you could bounce back Jin with Borger to get him on field for either draw 1 or burn which triggers Jin on their turn to get another search. Pretty good ngl
@@TheMismatcher you could do that if you opened another dark. You need to bounce madlove if you didn't, otherwise you don't have a dark in hand for Borger's effect

Iron Dragon is basically an unofficial VS card that no one talks about. Level 4 dark dragon which has is a nice search off mag since it can be used as a handtrap as well. You can quick effect special summon it if there are 3 or more cards in a column and then you destroy all cards in the column you destroy. It then prevents that column from being used at all while it’s on the field. So you can lock them out of the EMZ and your rock basically protects them from battle if another VS monster is on field.

The link cannot be a link material. So, destroying your own rock will give you some space if you really want to extend to another link monster. Maybe this is the best reason to explain the synergy between the new trap and the link-1.
Pluton played at 1 Durandal usually at 2, now they are fully replaced with 3 Jiaolong, amazing consistency boost and the ceiling with Stake Your Soul is now 2x higher

Is already the normal, this is a mandatory 2-3 of. Very good card not just solid.
The trap will be a 1 of and potentially having a 2nd copy for siding game 3.
Ping for 1800, special borger from hand and blow opponents board then borger revealing same dark and fire ping for 1500. That’s 3300 burn plus full interruption
I think we will be getting a lot of different waves of support, I expect we get 2 cards per set on the next few set just like this one in true fighting game dlc style
The trap protects you from Raigeki which hard counters the deck. No matter what you tag out, you lose the board so it's good to have that option.
Jialong is great, being able to search any VS card in quick effect is busted. Would have been better with an EARTH AND a Dark? Maybe but you just main Dogoran, Ash, Rise Heart and Kurikara and problem solved. If you open Razen/Stake plus a Fire you go off: Get Razen on Field, add Jialong, effect of Razen to increase his stats, summon Jialong, Rock with the Razen, send it back to hand, add whatever you want with Jialong, pass, next turn add wathever you want and you're set. If Borger for a +2 in a 2 turn cycle is good imagine if you could choose both cards. You already play 7 starters with Razen + Stake + Rota, even more if you use Durendal so the deck just gets more consistently to the grindy, 3 Attributes in hand, endgame which is what you want so I think it's gonna be a clear 2 of in every VS build.
Regarding Dempsey, it can't be a main line of play but can definitely come up in two ways: this new guy called Jiaolong plus Pantera (plus an Earth monster to reveal) so you don't waste the normal summon, or Madlove plus one the aforementioned monsters so you can search for Continue and link Dempsey into Gravity Controller to reborn a material and link it into Rock. Regarding the trap, I still prefer it over Trinity Burst, though mainly for concept.
i can see people probably experiment this in Infernoble. 3 stake your soul 2-3 Raisen, 1 mad love, 1 continue, 1 Jiaolong. it's a decent little enging that makes Stake your soul a 1 card Apo before you warrior lock yourself with regular infernoble plays or it helps you extend if you get nib'd during your regular infernoble combo.
Kurikara and Ash are good Fire generic ones. Earth is the one they're missing thanks to Maxx C not been legal.
Ghost Belle, and if you really wanna be a twat add Kaijus or maybe a small Kashtira engine with Fenrir and the lvl 4 since that's 2 extra earth's at most and a fire
The trap is great, since the deck needed a power s/t. I've heard some people experimenting with Longyuan to pitch the new VS.
Wanted to come back to this video after playtestjng the VS support and while neither card is broken, both are INCREDIBLY valuable and change the way you play the deck. I am actually finding that mad love is becoming more valuable for bouncing our own cards, like razen to get the fire in hand for jiolong, and jiolong helps get those extra names necessary in practice WAY more than it looks on paper.
The trap is valuable for evenly bc you leave it, and then special a vs from your hand main phase 2 and start playing again.
Atm I’m using dogoron (fire kaiju) 2 durendal and an immortal pheonix gearfried (banishes the durendal after you search to get a kidnapper and monster negate ) on top of kurikara and ash, there’s a fair amount of fire targets you can stumble into for double fire- but I do agree that once it comes out the game state may absolutely change
The trap DOES fix a lot of their problems. The deck currently hard looses to Super Poly in the vast majority of scenarios, this summon effect helps deal with it A LOT without having to give up on disruption.
They loose sometimes to SP.
how does the trap even stop superpoly? if you mean it enables play after superpoly resolves, wouldnt the reborn quickplay be a better search target that accomplishes the same thing anyway?

If you have 3 attributes and a vanquished soul in hand end phase…you most likely search the trap instead

@@shucklecopter8271 it is it you already have the book of Moon quickplay. The benefit of this trap is being both a possible disruption AND a comeback enabler.
What I like to see more is effects by revealing 2 of the same attributes, I like that idea, that way despite the hand, you have ways of using your effects
I will still play a Pluton since you can still potentially play during the opponent's turn. I get some don't like it, but I like it for a backup, plus there's other useful stuff that it can be used for aside from the general purpose of the archetype.
Wakaushi makes a rank 4 without using your normal and the shs are earth and dark

wouldn't Dempsey be good though cause you special pantera normal mad love search the trap make dempsey (you likely have a dark in hand already) then summon rock grab back what you used for it then you have all 3 attributes set trap pass? you activate trap summon razen search jiaolong when you reveal for column pop jiaolong eff summon(I really wish jiaolong 2nd was like dark earth) but you can see what i mean is that not worth it though? you would need to open with stake as well or continue cause you can dump with dempsey then continue summon back then make rock
God I love this archetype thematic so much, new guy looks like Litchi Faye Ling and the new trap reminds me of a rekka. Thats so cool.
It's supposed to be Jin actually. The trap being named Snow Devil and him being a fire that reveals a fire(razen) supports this

Combine vanquish soul with another archetype that searches or can search for different attributes and not use the normal summon.
The trap is pretty easy to set up with Razen and Jialong, at least. Don't think I'm a fan of it though. Honestly my biggest problem with it is that it destroys Rock of the Vanquisher since it isn't a Vanquish Soul, so you need to be even more careful about your sequencing than normal.
I absolutely agree with you about the way to play the deck and having to cut my favorite staple (i.e. imperm) while seeing everyone stupidly playing Droll & Nib really hurt me.
I hate seeing people play Droll and Nib like. If you draw those you essentially brick everytime since Nib is extremely hard to get plus their attributes don't match up so they're useless outside your opponents turn

Love not being able to ever play a decent new archtype because so many people overhype it. Maybe they will reprint everything in that set with support

This deck is hella confusing to learn, but is so much fun. Honestly one of those high skill ceiling decks.
Also, is that 'Fire and Fire' translation correct? If so, why the fuck would they print it like that? They could just say 'Fire' once, and have all the effects attributed to revealing a Fire.
Would Blaster be a good addition for this deck?
Blaster isnt playable in modern yugioh outside of being a rank 7 enabler.
Blaster can discard itself, and 1 of your fire monsters to pop 1 card on the field.
Can banish 2 fire monsters to special summon itself.
And when it's banished, it searches only dragons.
You can only use 1 of these effects per turn. I repeat, you can only use 1 among these 3 Spell Speed 1 effects, per turn.
It's slow, weak, has little to no synergy with Vanquish Soul, and whatever good thing it provides is underwhelming.
you're better off playing Dogoran, can be used to reveal itself and can be bounced back by Mad Love
I wish they would give us a searcher for stale your soul. So weird that the best card of the deck is not searchable

It doesnt need a searcher. Just a monster searcher. Maybe a field spell.

@@Xero-rr2ol Give them a field spell that can grab a stake your soul and allow you to copy an ability of a V.S monster you control that you haven't activated yet. So with heavy Borger if you activate the effect to draw you can use the field spell to activate the effect to burn

1. reveal dark and earth for the second effect is a good start
2. make it lvl 4
the trap is such redundant design and still somehow worse for it: first make all your things cant be destroyed then destroy all things. in that case why doesn't it just say destroy opponents monsters or non vanquish soul monsters
because it both means you have to reveal 3 to get the effect and means you can't weave in non-VS monsters onto the board and protect them too, say Baronne or Bagooska

I think Pluton is underrated, I also thought "this card sucks" when I read it but I think this card is actually intended to just have the deck play on turn zero. Call it out then bounce it back and call out the higher level VS's to do effects when their setting up. I wish it was tied to a better card, they were so scared after tear they thought they needed to make a card that lets you play turn zero shit but I do think it does and I think that it allows that is cool.
The problem with that kind of cards is this: to play them turn 0 you HAVE to include them in playset just to have higher chance to open with them while going second, but what happens if you go first or draw them after the opening hand? For what concerns Pluton, it happens that you just have a semi-dead card and now risk to brick when topdecking, is it worth it? Nope
p.s. I didn't play Tear, nor ishizu's fairies, but I do like turn 0 plays so, if we had Maxx C, I'd definitely play a playset of Pluton in the side deck for when I go second, but unfortunately we haven't.
@@endeavor1299 Maybe the T0 gameplay becomes more valid as a strategy if another new card also had the Pluton summon effect. Right now i agree with you, to inconsistant and to mid of a card to be okay with running it as a card you never want to see going first or drawing into. 1 is nice to get the fire with Raizen though as of now.
@@endeavor1299 totally agree, I think in Master Duel/OCG you could afford to play more but in TCG it isn't really playable at all. I do hope we see more cards that allow for that turn zero interaction that isn't just an average hand trap in VS but atm that card was overbalanced.

Yeah what's the problem with that? Can't you just keep going with the combo and have a body on board to play on your turn going 2nd? Even if your going first you have a card that can just become 3k ready besides Caeser for the counter trap or just hit them for game after getting out Borger to.
Also why are we somehow not caring about Borger burn turn 0 or draw for 3 more cards on your turn?
