I find it really funny how TCG banned Baronne and Savage to "nerf" Snake Eyes by not letting them have an omni-negate, only for Konami to make an lore-inclusive omni negate

@Xuilin_ My guess is they saw the success of Branded and it's many extensions and are capitalizing on that structure. There are two issues with this approach however.
      Issue 1.
Regardless of whether the deck played fusions, rituals, or synchros, the Albaz decks required alot of maindeck investment that made it impossible to play a bunch of non engine.
      Issue 2.
The OCG has better rarity systems and the banlist isn't hardlining decks to either be unplayable garbage or full power. Konami of America's banlist and rarity system trying to milk every cent out of players exacerbates these issues.
Now we're seeing the results of that with people like Jess quitting, Euro players outright refusing to play what Konami was clearly pushing for the format at their last YCS en masse, an inability to attract and retain new players, and local scenes shutting down.
There are simple fixes to the situation that Konami of america can adopt, but they refuse to entertain them as long as "line go up".

Well Poplar was crucial at the time since it was a great consistency boost having 3 broken effects.
I wouldn't say SE was unplayable b4 it tho. It just saw too few representation.
And for what you see in the ocg, they may even ban it tomorrow and the deck would still be top tier.
OSS, poplar and SE Ash have been crucial at sending the deck over the roof in lower power level formats.
But now having two crazy generic engines in FiendSmith and Azamina, makes banning any of those singularly not enough.
Just get rid of Flamberge and Promethean.
The engine will always be consistent enough so just kill the pay offs for playing it in a degenerate way.

Konami is doing the same thing that they did with making tears and making ishizu cards, which made tears that were already broken even more so. The biggest problem in my eyes is the fact that Konami makes decks and cards that aren't restricted in some way and because they're generic, everyone can play them instead of certain decks getting boosted and now the best deck can take 2 good engines and just become even more insane than it should be.

This entire decks design philosophy is the definition of flying too close to the sun, repeatedly, while having seen what happens when you do that 2x beforehand.
Snake Eyes with Poplar was already the best deck.
Yes Sinful Spoils are the lore theme so they were destined for more good support but who the fuck is the fiendsmith and why is he here?
Every pro could at a glance lab out a way for fiendsmith to make a free rank 6 which just leads to full combo or a free negate.
So we now have a very strong deck and add even more onto it with azamina.
You literally had people playtesting the deck you are about to add support for live on tournaments and it was the best deck by far...

@ autobotstarscream765 The TCG banned Savage and Baronne because they’re problematic cards that have had calls to be banned for ages now. Savage was a staple end piece of annoying combo decks like Adamancipator and Synchro Eldlich and was also used in Danger Thunder Dragon decks back in TOSS format. Baronne managed to find its way into every deck that could maybe sometimes make a level 10 synchro and had calls to be banned back in Swordsoul Branded format on release because of how strong it was. And then we’ve seen both cards used in every unbreakable board ever like in SHS and Mannadium. Like it or not, SE end boards became a lot more tolerable after those two got banned since now your stuff actually gets to resolve. SE sometimes making Dies Irae is still infinitely better than contending with Savage and Formula Synchron into Baronne with an Apollousa on board.

This game would be the most diverse it has ever been right now if Snake-Eyes was dead and some of the other top decks got smaller hits to prevent them from taking over immediately.
I have no idea why things like Tear and Snake-Eyes can exist without some sort of lock.
Tear should have locked your Extra Deck to Fusions only, maybe unless using Visas as Material to keep the lore and mechanics tied.
Snake-Eyes should lock you to Pyro mid-combo (to allow other decks to make use of Original and Ash) via Poplar and/or Flamberge.
We have decks like Abyss Actor that can't even use THEIR OWN LINKS once they use their Qliphort Scout clone. Granted, it doesn't actually hurt them 99% of the time, but compare that to Ishizutear. Two entirely unhinged sets of cards with zero restrictions used in combination in both player's turns.
They MUST have multiple R&D teams that do not communicate as much as they should.

Albaz lore and Visas lore are some of the well designed story. They both have robust archetypes in them and each can play their own. Let's talk about swordsoul, icejade, tri-brigade, and spriht in the Albaz lore. These decks have their own play and doesn't have or have little synergy to the Albaz/branded archrtype. And another thing is WE HAVE A GOBLIN BIKER SS, from VBEX 4 we know that Globin Crazy Beast ate Sinful Spoil Aethon we even have his Azamina verision (Azamina are the original demons of the SS) Sol Eryscithon, same stats and type, so we just need to wait to see his SS version.

I see the point you're trying to make, there is some merit to it. The issue is, we're missing the top-cut breakdown, this is a breakdown for the entire tournament. The fact that Snake Eye has this much representation after being in the format for a long time, that Yubel players have pivoted back is not what people who didn't like Snake Eye wanted to see. Very much like for how long Tear lasted (and I loved Tear), I have come to understand just how much that deck destroyed the enjoyment of the game for many casual players and local tournaments here.
From what I understand (I could be wrong), but there is genuine love and interest for YuGiOh in Japan in a way that isn't there in the TCG regions, we don't get many products and accessories without having to import. A lot of the voices of many casual players here often get crowded out, there are not as many product offerings for non-competitive players.
So these things combined could lead to more people leaving the game. ROTA released a lot of good water support, and to basically not even see it, is discouraging. We need a few more tournament reports to confirm it, but it essentially looks like business as usual in terms of the format, without any change.

Let me cook for a sec:
Ban Called by and Crossout like cards.
Limit Handtraps so they only work when you don’t control any cards (kinda like Imperm).
Limit access to handtraps so there is only a set amount of them allowed per deck.
Limit bosses (except for those archetypes that need two like Salad or Dreammirror), ban/ change one card bridges (like Yama for Fiends and Closed Heaven for Fiendsmiths), ban generic draws, ban none archetypal floodgates and limit/ban access to generic boss monsters and otk enablern.
Finally if the changes mentioned above don’t do enough introduce a destiny draw for turn two.
Yugioh wouldn’t be about: „me make big board me win“ anymore and more about resource management and finding initial synergies between archetypes (like between Yubel and Unchained, Fiendsmith and Musket, Ice Barrier and Ghoti or even triple synergies like CB Springans Tri-brigade and Branded).
Also cards like Labrynth set up would become way stronger.
Again don’t get me wrong. This isn’t a 100% fix (Rescue-Ace and Memento for example would be totally broken as they have near infinite grind), but it would be a good start in my opinion to slow down the game again.
Im also aware that this is 100% biased as I love midrange/control strats and Im totally aware that some archetypes like Unchained would be completely butchered (1 Rage, 1 Anguish, 1 Abom and AUS, no Yama and SP).
But well Im just a MD nerd that really enjoys the game.

One statement: The modern design of the game is a problem in of itself.
Second statement: Players keep going to tournaments and buy Konami products and digital purchases (being of Duel Links & Master Duel) surrounding YuGiOh, so Konami will keep making shit card designs like this to keep those players interested and attracted in the competitive scene to "support" the game.
The whole push for versatility & utility in card & deck design gotten in Konami's head to where they keep making generic engines, staples. handtraps, and deck themes powerful and/or impactful when they should be regulated, more conditional, costly, and/or restricted enough to limit where they can be played and/or the potential of their gameplay. But, who cares of this information?!?!? The game still gets supported, and that supports greedy Konami, so if y'all have a problem with that, consider either crying about it and continue complaining constantly or do something (in the most well-mannered, respectful way) that will force Konami to not only respond but also take action because whatever y'all are doing that would try to get to Konami isn't working at all.

Snake eyes gets all the love because Konami chooses to make its money by squeezing the competitive yugioh players. Most companies make decisions based on the casual auf=dice because its always bigger than the competitive. But not Konami. We are in a cycle that will continue. From now on Konami will ALWAYS design and support one deck to be much better than all others because its the way they have chosen to make money. As long as competitive players, and those who inspire to be, are willing to buy the best cards: they will continue the cycle.

    1. Can make insane endboards
    2. Can play through handtraps and can beat 1-1 handtraps with no issues
    3. Can set up a negate before summon number 5

The very easy answer to this is ban original sinful spoils

R.I.P. every legacy Deck that card was supposed to bail out as opposed to obliterating Snake-Eye and letting the rest of the Year of FIRE play out with OSS for Fire King, Synchron, Rescue-ACE, Volcanic, T.G., Evol, Plant, Flamvell/Laval, Infernoble/FIRE Warrior after the necessary ban of Isolde... 🔥

@Xuilin_ Beatrice needs to go anyway because Fiendsmith doesn't need Snake-Eye to break her and they're not going anywhere.
