I make a great oyakodon and katsudon, and I think katsudon is my favourite. Haven't tried any other kinds though.
Hands down my favorite is a well made Unagi Don. Absolutely to die for.

A bowl of rice topped with fresh seafood is not a “kaiseki-don” but a “kaisen-don". ”kaisen(海鮮)” means fresh seafood. There are two types of “kaiseki” cuisine: “懐石” and “会席” .

My dream vacation is going to Japan, but I'm worried about the food. I have a shellfish allergy and do not read or speak Japanese. I'd need an epipen on me and would need to know a bit of japanese to avoid shellfish and or navigate the hospital if it came to that. :x

Great looking choices for bentos, just for everyone’s fyi, I read that the Shinkansen stopped selling bentos a while ago, idk when 🤷♀️
Yeah I don’t ride the trains often enough to know when either. But it was disappointing
Love your videos! Don't care for large cities but love seeing the food variety. Looks so delicious. Maybe it's a good thing there aren't all these varieties. Less calories watching.

But, Karate competitions was probably more popular in the past than now in Japan, I don't know. But does anyone there recognize you since you represented them for many years? Does it happen even when you just walk around and try so many restaurants for Junk Food Japan? 😅
Yeah so it’s a mixed thing. As I have matured and look older most people that know me don’t recognize me at first, but when they realize it it’s hilarious 😂
