It’s super saiyan. The form is used when a saiyan is in a pressured situation in the need of more power. That’s why this scene is so special, he used it on beerus even though he knew it wouldn’t work to beat him. It shows his passion like the scream we heard
The fact that BOG Goku is coming to Dokkan just shy of the movie's 10 year anniversary is honestly so emotionally heartwarming, it's always best to look back on the greatest Dragon Ball movie ever made.
I would honestly keep Super Hero at 3rd place, because if you're into slice-of-life, you'll enjoy the vibes and the jokes a lot. The CGI and the score were both amazing. My ranking goes DBS Broly, BoG and then SH.
i honestly love goku's desperation in this moment. personally, i dont think he intentionally went super saiyan. rather i think it was an activation from his emotion, similar to his awakening on namek. he's fighting to protect everything he knows and loves, against someone that he knows he wont beat normally. its honestly inspiring that he goes on even after he loses the power to fight berus on equal terms. its all or nothing and he went in full
He definitely didn't intend it. He was shocked when Beerus tells him he lost the God form. Makes me wonder though, if he didn't lose the God form, would this have pushed him into Blue? Now that would have been wild.
@@Ichigoku15 I don't think he'd have reached blue if given enough time to fight here, from what was said in Super, he was constantly letting too much energy escape his body (at this time too) therefore he'd never be able to retain it & reach that form, hence why in blue, his power can't be sensed as he's retaining it all within himself, all they have to gauge off of is his presence (the amount of pressure he's releasing) But, to say none the less, he was fighting in SSJ at a level above SSJG (as SSJG was still him in base form, but ascended) whilst retaining the "experience" and "height" of God, so his body essentially limitbreaker'd on its own, just using SSJG as a catalyst to sorta show him the limit was breakable (This is just my interpretation of it of course since he reobtained SSJG in desperation to disperse the energy bomb Goku/Beerus formed right before the fight ended, to which I am unsure how to explain that, I'd assume there's better fandom ideas than this as to why he was still able to not get 1 tapped by Beerus)
i feel like something similar to this happened during the tournament of power with him, frieza, and A17 vs jiren. at the end, goku comes streaking down with his hair flickering between normal and super saiyan, and im pretty damn sure its for the exact same reason this happened.
I really like the part where piccolo is the first one to realise that Goku's form dropped and Vegeta's face after is priceless. Because while piccolo was actually watching the fight mainly with his eyes like the rest of them, Vegeta usually mainly sense the energy and can perfectly read the fight through the power levels. And the fact Goku had dropped down to a normal super Saiyan but was still fighting with the power of a god shocked Vegeta to his core
That's not true. You can't sense God Ki. Vegeta would immediately know that Goku's form dropped because he would be able to feel Goku's ki again. Before then he wouldn't be able to sense Goku or Beerus's ki.
The power of a low class warrior Saiyan finding the strength to overcome unfathomably steep odds is what has let me get through so many battles in my life. Broly didn't just had the time to be included in the Canon until now. I love that Goku went Super Saiyan because he is basically so pissed that his heart is not calm anymore. Until the god thing he is really chilled, almost playful but then he becomes super angry against Beerus, so the SSJ transformation kicks in.
When pushed into a corner with no hope of victory. He will push beyond to defy his defeat, this is Goku. His strongest characteristic is always pushing his limits when even victory seems lost. This scene is on par with Kaio Ken x20 Kamehameha on Frieza as Goku's best moment.

There's also a bit more to it since against Freeza he went SSB by going SSJ and adding God Ki and in Broly he did so seemingly while going SSJ while already in SSG. Since SSG seems to just be a form you achieve once you get God Ki, it seems to be that SSB is a fusion of both SSG and regular SSJ.

See for me I thought the music choice took away from the scene. IMO it’s too upbeat for what’s happening. Like there’s a god threatening the very existence of everyone you know and love so let’s play a cheerful pop like song. Doesn’t feel right to me. This is still easily my favorite moment in all of super though. It’s the only part that made me feel like a kid watching Dragonball again

Well in the movie Beerus was actually using 70% of his true power but since the dragon ball super anime had to continue beyond that arc they changed it to that the movie isn't canon to the anime and made so Beerus was much stronger in the anime than his movie version never taking the fight serious in the anime since they didn't know what to do if Goku surpassed Beerus.

I was 10 when this movie came out, and this was my favorite DBZ movie. I watched this in theaters with my family, and Goku was (and still is) my favorite character and watching this movie for the first time made me want to get out of my seat and shout out "You can win, Goku!" I know that sounds stupid and corny, but seeing your favorite character fight for his life, determination boiling inside of him and telling a God of Destruction that he won't let him destroy his world... made me feel so many ways, and even to this day, it makes me feel those same emotions I felt all of those years ago because of everything that is happening in just these two minutes, showing the character that I looked up, the character that I wished I could have been when I was younger... fighting despite all the odds, fighting an uphill battle and yet, screams out to the God that he won't stop. Fighting. I sometimes play this clip on the days I feel sad, lost all motivation... and this clip makes me shed a tear, giving me a tiny bit of motivation. This was the movie that made me love this series so much, and this movie will forever hold a special place in my heart.
The most wholesome thing about this knowing what is known now about Beerus...is that he admired Goku so much he wanted to go through what most of Goku's enemies ending was..the fury of desperation and love he wanted to feel the moment and see who Goku really is ...he left his self 100% open to experience a Saiyan's rage and love for his family, friends and planet💪😇
This is one moment that will always give me goosebumps. Every time I watch this film you feel Sean’s power behind his performance when he screams right there and it is so chilling and it gives the whole body goosebumps every time.
Ironic how English people say that the Japanese sub is better when in reality both VAs are professionals who pour their heart into their performance for the best experience to everyone, it doesn’t matter if one’s better only the effort which is made which can be seen.

Something I noticed is Goku is still getting solid hits in despite the power gap which shows Goku despite power levels is an incredible martial artist

Piccolo is more experience with Ki reading than Vegeta. And he was the first one to mentioned seeing the fight through Ki not eyes to Gohan.

This is my favorite moment in all of dragon ball. From the acting, to the visuals but finally; the music. Not only this movie but this song, is what re-lit the dragon ball flame in me and will forever be my favorite song in all of anime right next to dan dan kokoro hikareteku

See for me I thought the music choice took away from the scene. IMO it’s too upbeat for what’s happening. Like there’s a god threatening the very existence of everyone you know and love so let’s play a cheerful pop like song. Doesn’t feel right to me. This is still easily my favorite moment in all of super though. It’s the only part that made me feel like a kid watching Dragonball again

Why do I feel scared that one day masako nozawa finally passed away with a smile on her face, like you after that, I know I shouldn't think about another person's death, but at the same time I just feel terrified some reason she's one of the fan favorites the oldest person to be voicing Goku
I agree. She's great, but the script writing for the original for that part was trash. "Stop enjoying destroying things!!!" Doesn't hit hard in any regard

Look how he fought toe to toe with beerus in super Saiyan transformation...i know i know beerus wasn't serious at that time but it was truly nostalgic 😚
Well in the movie Beerus was actually using 70% of his true power but since the dragon ball super anime had to continue beyond that arc they changed it to that the movie isn't canon to the anime and made so Beerus was much stronger in the anime than his movie version never taking the fight serious in the anime since they didn't know what to do if Goku surpassed Beerus.
Beerus was never using 70% of his power, they literally said it at the end of the movie lol
@@zakphilbert1933 No Beerus only lied about Goku being the second strongest person or moral he's fought as in an interview about the movie Toriyama (did I spell the name right?) Said that ssjg Goku was around 60% of Beerus's power before Goku's body had turned some of that borrowed power into his own strength.

Not enough people are talking about that EPIC Instant Transmission Kamehameha that Goku did. Gave me Cell Saga vibes, especially with Beerus’ reaction to it.
I agree. Hardly gets mentioned when talking about this fight sequence. The line he says before the kame wave was dope too.

I was 10 when this movie came out, and this was my favorite DBZ movie. I watched this in theaters with my family, and Goku was (and still is) my favorite character and watching this movie for the first time made me want to get out of my seat and shout out "You can win, Goku!" I know that sounds stupid and corny, but seeing your favorite character fight for his life, determination boiling inside of him and telling a God of Destruction that he won't let him destroy his world... made me feel so many ways, and even to this day, it makes me feel those same emotions I felt all of those years ago because of everything that is happening in just these two minutes, showing the character that I looked up, the character that I wished I could have been when I was younger... fighting despite all the odds, fighting an uphill battle and yet, screams out to the God that he won't stop. Fighting.
I sometimes play this clip on the days I feel sad, lost all motivation... and this clip makes me shed a tear, giving me a tiny bit of motivation.
This was the movie that made me love this series so much, and this movie will forever hold a special place in my heart.

The most wholesome thing about this knowing what is known now about Beerus...is that he admired Goku so much he wanted to go through what most of Goku's enemies ending was..the fury of desperation and love he wanted to feel the moment and see who Goku really is ...he left his self 100% open to experience a Saiyan's rage and love for his family, friends and planet💪😇
