    Thanks for the reminder about doing a swirl with the front face down! I'd forgotten that (it's been years since I've tie-dyed and I've not used Rit, so thanks for the instructions!).

    How doou keep the color from bleeding onto the white area? For example when using black dye on a white shirt?

      Anna Nicole I bought these online directly from the company website! Every color is in stock, but the only down side is that they’re a little more pricey! Almost $5 per color. It was like $4 something, but it was worth it for me to get colors I REALLY wanted that no store had. My Walmart recently restocked tons of colors so maybe keep checking in! Hopefully you get some. 😱🤞🏼

    Did you use salt if you were using the all purpose Rit? The colors will fade less if you do that and let the fabric sit for 20-30 minutes before heating, cooling and rinding

    Each time I use tot dye it always bleeds! Does putting the towel in the wash with it stop that?

    • @Bbeemar
      @Bbeemar  4 года назад

      I found that the methods as a whole really helped the bleeding issue. Rinsing in cold water prior to washing helped a lot and I did notice that the towel actually did catch a decent amount of dye! It’s more than likely not fail proof, but can be mastered over time I believe! It seemed to work out in this case! 🎉

      You need to use salt with the rit all purpose dye and you need to let the dyed fabric sit for 20 to 30 minutes. You really should add dye fixative before heating it and letting it cool. You need to rinse it a lot more than what the video showed it really should be done in a sink with cold water until the color stops rinsing before you take off the rubber bands and wash it

    Everything came out really cute! I really love the crop tops. The shirt you were wearing to dye, did you make that one as well? It’s gorgeous! I love tie dying but I’m terrified to use Rit. I’ve only used procion fiber reactive dyes. But because I’m running low and my order is taking forever, I might just try out the Rit. I have about 10 bottles sitting around brand new lol. I’m just so scared of the colors bleeding. I did order some fixative in case I want to use it. But seriously, everything came out so pretty. Also, it’s great that you mentioned spiraling from the back of the shirt. It’s how I do mine too. The spiral just comes out so much cleaner in the front. Great tip for anyone that wants to try doing their own! 💜

      I’m so happy it seemed to come out! I was so nervous 😬
      The rainbow one I did not! I bought it that way. It’s a Panic! @ the Disco shirt.
      I’ve only ever tried rit, how is the one you use??? Do you recommend?
      I would definitely give it a try if you never have.
      Use a dark towel or one you don’t care about to catch any bleeding and rinse with cold water before washing so it will help prevent a ton of bleeding!
      Thank so much for the feed back 💗💗💗☺️

      Marina Noel So I use Dharma trading co Dyes. They’re a little backlogged with orders because of the pandemic but totally worth it. The quality of the dye is amazing. So with fiber reactive dye (like dharma) it’s permanent, so you don’t have to worry about it bleeding/fading after you wash it. Plus, the colors are much more vibrant. I also purchase from a company called custom colours. They seem to be nearly sold out on their dyes right now but that’s another amazing company. I’ve also dabbled with Jacquard Mx fiber dyes. They’re stuff is actually pretty good too. You can find them on amazon or pretty much any art supplies store. I found them on Blick art. Which seems to be cheaper than amazon. Procion dye is best for tie dye. There’s a few cheap ones online that a lot of people are using. It’s called tulip. I also fell into the tulip craze when I first started lol. I wouldn’t recommend using their stuff, they look so pretty until you wash it. I ended up using the Rit for the crumple look and I actually like it lol so I’ll keep my Rit for that but if I’m doing spirals or any other technique I stick with the procion. I ended up purchasing a metal rack to prevent dye forming a pool under the shirts and it helped big time and I have a few wash clothes I place on my table (under the rack) so it doesn’t drip down to the floor. I use a plastic tarp over my table as well. I got it from dharma for like $2. If you’re looking for more white shirts you can try jiffy. I pay like $1.50 per gildan shirt.
      Sorry, my post is so long lol I didn’t intend on it being so chatty lol
