I want to watch absolutely anything you post. I learn so much from your transparent communication and humor. I really appreciate your posts. Thank you.
cheers 🥰 im glad you learning
X2 ! ! ! !
Thank you for being humble and welcome back : )
Maybe it will be good to make an audio comparison video between the quality of the output "gain" of different receivers. Or comparison tests of several lavalier microphones in a slightly reverberant place.
i will try and make something about this :)
I love your youtube channel! I'm so happy you're uploading again. Congrats on working on a Marvel show btw!
thanks it was a fun experience !
Welcome back! ive missed your videos and your humor!
thanks !!!
Ayeee Welcome to IATSE!!
thanks !!!
could u guide me to or show how to setup wireless with fin antennas step by step process like setting up the fins connecting getting the signal like if we are using f8 or mix pre
and another video about ur current mic collection including lavs
new and interesting lav techniques
will do
This was a cool vid man. I did some work experience on a Netflix show here in the UK in December where I shadowed the audio team (3 people) and I learnt a TON. The mixer was using an 8-channel analogue desk into a Sound Devices recorder on his cart and not one of those Teletubby looking Cantar units thank fuck.
sonosax ? or cooper? I would
like to work in the UK that would
be fun !!
@@RLFOSOUND Pretty sure it was an Audio Developments AD 149 mixer. Keep this channel up, it's good stuff 😊
🤟🏻
Congrats on joining IATSE. I totally relate to the bit about weighing going into union work as a 3rd vs. being a non union mixer. I'm in IA too, but I don't do the long-term feature-lyfe (statistically not a great fit for people with families) so for me I've gravitated towards mostly non-union work (focusing mostly on Commercial/Doc/Corporate/Reality). I occasionally day-play on union productions (TV/Film/EPK/Commercials), but as you've pointed out long-term commitments to that world are an absolute grind... That volume is nice, but @ 2nd/3rd rates... those 14-15 hour days are not worth it to me. Especially with equipment sitting home not earning. Maybe if I relied on the health benefits, it'd be a different story... but luckily I don't. Lookin forward to more vids, man. Enjoy your break!
its a big commitment and it leaves you with no life outside work, Yeah the gear sitting at home is not nice I would like to have a balance with non union and union work and hopefully be a mixer in a
few years win some
oscars hahahhaha 😛
RLFO SOUND if Oscars are your goal, you’re definitely on the right path. Seems like Utility is the path to Mixer in that world.
It's so good to see you back. Made my day.
cheers bud !!!
Helstrom 👀
my man so what have u learned from the current project did u found new ways or improvements to your own way of working like the basics the wireless setup or wiring techniques hope you could share those soon
hoping everything and everyone safe over there
the main thing i learn is that less is more not to over think anything just giver !!
Nice to see you here again. Would be great to see some of your favourite 6060 rigs if you dont mind sharing or to see your current cart setup.
will do brother !!!
Sound assist?? is this a "third", or sound utility you were doing?
Im starting on a feature movie this week (non-Union) which looks like its going to happen! and I will be a "third"....even though I have mixed on a bunch of shorts and boomed on a few as well. But I finally got the opportunity to work with a pro mixer in my home town and he came to my house to prep for 2 days and showed me everything he has! Funny, because I live in a small town and had been trying to make connections with other mixers for 3 years now. So I'm pretty pumped!
yeah i was the third, nice congrats good luck and stay safe out there !!!
Lamo!!!! You said if the world ends we are the first to go! Hahah
yeah i been learning
how to survive in the wild
dang mate, i feel ya. i was doing an internship at local tv and web-radio station and while we were covering the 'rona virus with some ministers coming and going like crazy, i got called by HR. I went to see HR and told me all interns had to stop coming to make sure that there were less chances for people to get sick. Shitty situation for all the filming industry around the world. The short movies i had planned to work on got canceled too. Just got my first professionnal setup (833, MiniCMIT, etc...) to get to work so i'm quite sad to not be able tu use it soon (i'm lucky i could stay at my parents at least so i'm not alone in this shit).
but well, all my suport from Brussels, Belgium and hope it'll go well for you!
yeah its a
real mess out there all productions in canada stopped no work for a few months, I hope everyone stays safe so we can get back to normal soon
Lots of sound gear for sale! Barely used... everything must go! Wall to wall savings!
i might be selling some soon !!! 🙃
Question. Long story, but I was gifted a Sound Devices MixPre-6 with 2 lav's and a shotgun/boom kit by someone who retired and knows I want to get into sound. I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing and I need so much help. Your videos are so helpful, but I still feel like I can't properly lav anyone. I always seem to get lots of noise/cable noise. That's my main problem. What do you believe are the best settings for this system? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
hey, cool nice gift ! the main thing is to try several positions and rigs start laving yourself daily different outfits and try to identify what makes a lav rustle practice practice is the only way
RLFO SOUND - Thank you!
