Thanks, great info, watching how they grew one cup in less than a month was admittedly surprising, I went with what I commented about Mika Klopsworth, although confess it took a full 6 weeks to become 2 cups bigger. Took a bit longer yes, bur googling and reading her tips made them fuller and firmer than I expected!
Hi Emil. Wanted to say I love these videos, I’ve been playing DnD for about 8 years on and off and I never really got into painting because I was intimidated. After space marine 2 dropped I went down the 40k rabbit hole that led me here and your channels convinced me to start painting! (For fun as I now exclusively play TT online since I moved away and started adulting) I bought your curated paint set bundle and my first 2 minis were the dwarf with the log and ball and the orc swamp shaman. I’ve just about finished the elf warrior. I was wondering if you or Lukas could do a tutorial on 1 or all of these minis. I feel it would be fitting since they’re exclusive to your boxed paint set and it would likely be very useful to other painters who are starting their journey through squidmar (including me of course) I would really like a masters take on these pieces to compare my work to as (in my noob opinion) my biggest struggles were highlight placement and blending gradients. I feel a nice compare and contrast to something I’ve painted by hand would be an amazing learning tool. Obviously I could just go buy another piece you’ve already done, but as I said I think this would be useful to all squidly noob painters. Either way. Thanks so much for the content!
Dang I need to post my minis on your guys stuff I've been making slow progress on doing natural light highlights I could use some help on knowing what I'm doing wrong and what I'm going right. I only paint for the love of it, but I would like to get better.
I actually think the Iron Man bust looks better without any changes. I really like the way the brush strokes were discernable, but still uniform. It makes it look like it was colored in with colored pencils and gives it a lot more character than if it was just a smooth blend. I don't know if that was the painter's intention, but i think it's really cool and I'm definitely gonna try it on a mini in the future.
Definitely some helpful hints though. A little finer on the strokes would give an awesome brushed steel finish. The thing that stands out for me was reflected shadow around the right eye. They suggest the helmet concaves in towards the eye lens when it doesn't. A little bit straighter on that brown would be more accurate and match the left side better. Still way better than my grey pile of shame 😅
@Ranger_ZiR0 for sure and it seems like if you could get the sketchy look down fast, it could really be a nice base to work off of for your smooth transitions.
@Ranger_ZiR0 yeah it's messy as haha. My main intention was to practice volumes and try to get the feel of brushed steel NMM as an exercise. But at the end of the day, it's a pez dispenser so I didn't want to put any more effort in 😅
Thanks fir this tutorial channel which i found only some weeks agi and firgot to subscribe until now. Is their any chance or possibility to send you one or two pics of my minus for Tips and critic on how to improve?
May I ask regarding your paint sets. I bought them, they are great. However, I am having a hard time finding a good color mix to make a good verdigris colors. (Bronze or copper turned green from oxidization) Do you have any tips?
Hello! I am entering my first painting competition soon and am looking for help on painting white armor, it is just not looking like metal to me with attempting NMM. and help from anyone here? thanks!
I think the white is just too much, yeah i agree it has too much white but the junp between colors is drastic, there should be a might lighter colour under the white like a tint of a pink right before the white
I don't mean any disrespect to the last painter, but I also make the same mistake and the mini just looks like a big banana. I know I'll tend to get carried away with the yellow and start highlighting everything like brrrrrrrrrrrr instead of sticking to the plan lol.
The right plinth definitely makes a difference. Having one helps to elevate the mini and separate them from the surroundings so you don't lose the model on whatever they're sitting on. It is a really important thing to help a model really pop from its surroundings.
Hey Emil, please disable automatic dubbing and automatic title translation of your videos on all your channels. It's not... a well-functioning feature of RUclips. :)
@@squidlybits1985 The user can only select the dubbing from a list of provided languages. But creating this list and with it the automatic translation of the video title is a feature within your channel's upload settings, as I understood.

Thank you for yet another thoughtfull and helpfull video ❤
And lots of love to your editor for bringing the music intensity down❣️

Hey man, on this channel you've already got tutorials for all the three miniatures in the set 🥳
I love the PEZ handle ^^
Never thought about it but the smaller plinth really leaves a lot up to the viewer as to what the figures are heading into. Good bit of advice

Another great video Emil, thank you.👍👍
May we have a "little bit" counter :D
I saw this comment at the very beginning of the video and all I could focus on is how many times he said "little bit".
Chupito🎉
awesome.

How much Ice Yellow do you guys go through? Seems like it is mixed with everything... :)
IT'S SO GOOD THOUGH

I've been watching a lot of your videos lately and have gotten super hyped to remove all my washes and start learning to highlight and shade!
Don’t do it. Washes have many purposes even for advanced painters.
That's awesome man! :)
@@yvan1you know he only means getting rid of them as a crutch. Better to learn how to use washes as a tool not a painting method.

Hey man, I mostly just use thinned down blue green for it.
@squidlybits1985 sweet, I'll try. Thank you! :D

You always paint like its a cartoon. You should try grimdark focusing on osl.

Still don't know why plinths are a thing to be honest. Always think they detract from the mini.

*Karen's voice ON*: How dare you "fix the art" on these beautiful miniatures after the painters' request to make them even better?
CAN WE STOP WITH THE AUTO TRANSLATED VIDEO TITLES
thank you wtf why are video titles translated to german?!?!
I am German and it annoys me😅😅
@@MelkorBauglir25 Commented something similar, haha! This RUclips "feature" makes them talk about a whole different category of painting.
Hey man, it's a setting on your end. It's not something we turn on
@ ooooog thank you - i will try harder to figure it out :-)
