The way she literally out sang herself is immaculate😭 I KNOW y’all hear both voices. She’s a perfectionist and it shows. Any singer knows that singing outside in the cold weather and being sick at the same time isn’t a great combination..... especially on live tv infront of the whole world. She was very smart for her decision and this is still one of the best national anthems of all time. ❤️

She was SINGING along to a pre recorded track. Which meant that she was singing along to the already recorded instruments, not lipsyncing to a pre-recorded vocal performance. Maybe she was singing over a quiet vocal, but many singers do that when not prepared.
I hate that they went back and edited this on all platforms so we can here her singing against the backtrack. This will be the version that’s cemented in history instead of the initial version we all heard when it was performed. It was STUNNING and needed no explanation or editing. Not sure if it was her team or the news outlets but after the controversy all the versions online upped her mic to show she was singing along instead of keeping it as it was originally intended to be heard.
