ABOUT ME
I’m 33 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city s a Police Officer and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 1200 breeding ewes.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Since starting The Sheep Game I have met Lizzy and had two incredible boys Jock and Angus. You will see them all on this channel!

I love the edit in the beginning where Lizzie gives us the tupping count after 48 hrs. and then it cuts to Jock holding a pen like he’s taking notes for his Mum. Lol😂
That caught my eye too. Lizzie, he's definitely a lefty. Don't let school try to change it.
@@haggielady I totally agree. I had a crazy teacher's assistant in 1st grade, who tried to force me to use my right hand. It was a failure. All it did was put me behind in my writing skills. Which I never recovered. My handwriting is awful.
My oldest daughter was in 5th grade when her teacher decided she needed a "fool proof" metal tripod tool to force her to hold her pencil "correctly". NOT! Little darling found a way around it! 😅 Teacher gave up! 🤣
50+ years later her writing is still pretty illegible. Too bad....it's one of a kind & it's her's alone❣️😂
Before I got remarried, I discovered my stepson had a 3rd grade teacher who tried to "break him" from being left-handed. Good thing I wasn't around then. 🤨 He was in 6th grade when he became my son. I bought everything I could find for him for lefties (tablets, cups, scissors. etc) and all 6 of us set the dinner table for him according to his specific needs. Lefties Have Rights too🤗
Two of my own siblings were ambidextrous.
Embrace what mother nature gives us....don't try to force what is unnatural. Just like fingerprints. No two of us are ever exactly the same.

Holy cow (sheep?) Lizzie!! You have come SO far since the days of Cammie trying to get you to talk on camera and you could barely whisper a few words! That said, your ability to be a very hard working farmer, in rough weather whilst being an amazing, loving mother is awe inspiring. I love the videos that Lizzie does. Lizzie, you have such a clear, articulate way of explaining things that makes it so easy to follow. Not that Cammy's aren't interesting and educational, but I learn so much from what you've got to say - really enjoyed this one. Well done -- and stay warm and dry as possible!
I can't believe it takes you 20 minutes to split nearly 90 sheep into 3 groups AND count them. I would get so distracted! I would love to see more of the process of splitting and counting, and reharnessing the rams, also, if you guys have the set up for it. I would honestly love just watch Lizzie drive the 4x4 and work with the dogs.
Great video. Will ye go through the breakdown of the composite breed of each ram. And the benefits of each rams as opposed to using Suffolk or texel etc?
Yeah i'll cover that again at some point. We'll be comparing the lambs and seeing which ones we want to stick with moving forward.

Even if Lizzie doesn't blog often, it's fine. It's not something anyone should do when they don't want to. But a sprinkling of Lizzie's viewpoint gives the "Sheep Game" more dimension. Better definition of sorts.

Brilliant job Lizzie (who's this Cammy fella that thinks he's a RUclipsr? 😁He should stick to the telly and let the professionals get on with the RUclips 🤣) you did a fantastic job describing what was going on and because you didn't seem to be looking directly at the camera (just in its general direction) it looked so much more natural and professional and you seemed more at ease than you have previously in front of the camera.
You've taught Lizzie well Cammy (or maybe it was Lizzie that was teaching you 😁) Maybe now you can share the camera time with each other which will then allow you to get on with other things from time to time.
