ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on RUclips and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.
Wow, lambing 750, that’s a lot and doing it while recovering from Covid! Glad Lizzie was there to do all the hard work.
LOL! Behind every good man is a great woman…with a baby in a backpack and a plan for dinner, household management and business solutions in the back of her mind. (And the love of her man in her heart) Just teasing Cam….You guys are a great team, and it shows. I love your vids…
Regularly lambed 2000 plus to each shepherd in NZ, lamb outside far far easier than lambing in a shed
@@chrisoconnor5880 much healthier stock too!
I'm seconds in, so sorry if you give us the update part way through. But if you haven't please please update us on your c-section ewe!
We call it “muggy” here in the USA too. Humid wetness hanging in the air. Feels like you’re walking through ground hanging clouds.
I have to say how I love how you always include any children around you 😍you also explain and teach them your world it’s fantastic thanks to you and Lizzy sharing your life and family with us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have a Shetland cross, which I acquired from a lady years ago, mad as a hatter, was barren the first year - couldn’t get her in to sell so she was back to the tup the following year - 4 seasons later she has had triplets every year, finishes her lambs on her own and they are nearly all in the first draw and I’ve never done her feet - amazing ewe so started keeping her ewe lambs which started lambed this year 😎
Just made my crappy day better. Yay! 🎉
Cammie and Sandi always make me feel lucky to have had a nice desk job. Now that I'm retired and comfortable, even more so!
Well, rain has stopped play in the garden. So, I thought I would have a wee crack with my Scotish cousin. First of all I am a nearly 73 yr old widow who lives on the Gippsland Lakes in the south east of Australia. A well known place for Merino wool Stud farms. I am a spinner and knitter of cobweb and lace weight wools. The smaller the micron the better. I also spin silk. Apart from knitting lace shawls and Christening Gowns I also knit socks, have been since I was 7yrs old.
My Scotish ancestors came from Angus and Fife but my Dad's Mum came from Yorkshire. So I have a genetic predisposition towards sheep. I just love the feel of wool in my hands. The wonderful feel of woollen clothing. As wool has "memory" after a few wears it feels like a second skin. No more blathering from me, my love to you, Cammie, Lizzie and your own wee lambie Jock. Love, Cousin Joolz.
Julie, what an interesting post!
Thank you my little love. Where are you from. Just general location will do.
I personally love the valley blacknose/jacob crossed sheep! He looks so cool!!
And shaved he looks has a cow pattern. 😘
Me too! It totally stole the show. :-D
That sheeps not ugly, it’s different. Maybe do a Sandy name it, then use it as ‘adopt a sheep (as it’s easy to identify) same with 1 eye, 1 ear and the crazy one, so watchers can choose to sponsor and pay for the up keep of particular sheep so more income. There are lots of people who love sheep (and other animals) but can’t have them themselves.
I would adopt that crazy one. LOL
That young man will be a future vlogger! Good job!
Love the Shetland & her lambs.. she plays by her own rules apparently and I love that even though it's a source of frustration, you secretly admire her stubborn tenacity. 😂
You’re an excellent director! They say never work with kids or animals, but you’re great with both!
Absolutely laughing at that Shetland. What a riot of a character - glad you’re keeping her. Everything needs a little chaos now and then. :D And she’s very pretty!!!
Kim, I agree with you about that rogue sheep. I would keep. Her too. What a character. LOL
Hello from Iowa USA. Love the update. Keep up the videos. Hello to Lizzy too.
Glad you are telling us what some of the lingo is. 😊😁 Gimmer a term I couldn't for the life of me figure out. For the longest time you were talking about crack and as a nurse my head went to "he can't be talking about crack (crack cocaine) has to be something else. In Canada sometimes we say we're going to the Back Cracker meaning the Chiropractor, then there is the crack in the cement or a glass. Strange how we all speak English but words mean something totally different. The Foot GP uses Crack a lot . OMG that sounds terrible, but you catch my drift. 😉😁 Your wife is from Devon ? That is where my paternal ancestors are from way back a few generations. Allie from The Rock
Cammy and Graeme's version of the word is spelled craic but is pronounced like your other examples.
You hear the word craic here in rural spots of Atlantic Canada sometimes! Certainly some parts of Nova Scotia.
Think the ewe with the horns is very beautiful, unique looking. Alot of wool , could make a sweater or two. 🐑
Were the puppies really hiding in the hedge? Scared of the sheep? Too cute!💕
Well done Cammy and Lizzie with the lambing. Also Cammy you did well with getting through covid and recuperating from it during lambing. You have given us a great showing of sheep farming. 🐑
Love the hair cut. You look like a proper bloke now.
He gave his other hairstyle to Graeme Parker who now looks more like a sheep.
New to your channel and am chewing my way through all the wonder-full vlogs. Cammy, you remind me of my favorite fictional character, Hamish Mcbeth ( book, not tv series), a police officer in a small Highland village ( and has a few sheep himself!). Thank you for sharing your sheep game, Lizzie, your adorable son, the dogs and all the folk there who are by your side tending to the sheep! Take care, stay healthy and keep that lovely sense of humor coming - best wishes from the Bluegrass State of Kentucky. 💗
Did you realize Cammie was also a police officer for several years?
@@patpierce4854 I did! Thats when it clicked! 😁
Love the Valais Jacob, lol! 'Tis the season for dagging - had to do my (sheep)dog this evening...
Great wee catch up!! Fantastic trim on your jacob/valais bn!! I think you should keep it - use a picture of it, with 11 other meaningful members of the flock pictures( what a mouthful!!), for a SheepGame calendar!! Dogs, Family, Sheep and views of Bonny Scotland!!- Reckon it will sell 👍🏻🤔🙏🏻 This Landward presenting is going from strength to strength, well done! Thanks again Cammy!
Thanks Tracey!! You I’m hoping to do a calendar this year!
A Sheep Game Calendar……. Wonderful!!!!!! Can’t wait for that Cammy 💜 I hunt for a descent sheep calendar every year but am always disappointed. None seem to contain photos that make me think “great content, gorgeous looking sheep, great photo”. As well as your own sheep & lambs, there’s plenty other beautiful breeds that you have featured on your vlogs which would be perfect for your calendar. Agree with Tracey; sheep, gorgeous scenery, your lovely family, dogs, helpers & friends. December should be of you swimming in the lock….. you’re a nutter for doing that but it did make me smile 😀.
You missing the sale because you’re socializing… not you.😂😂😂
Good job, Liz & Cammy!
So nice to see all the dogs out and about! 🥰
Dropping everything to watch this upload!
That lamb who is “mad as a hatter” is so funny, lovable running around with her two children. I would have to keep her. She provides amusement and what a fierce sense of independence. She is a character.
BTW, really enjoy Cammy’s quick humor which is So uplifting. And, the way you include the children in your vlogs is wonderful. You are so genuine.
That Valais black nose cross is messed up (cool) looking! I guarantee you that someone here in the states would buy that as a pet Solely for its "uniqueness" lol.
Absolutely the most beautiful children there, Adam did a Grand job. Happy travels.
I loved the update! Thank you from Arizona, USA.
Blessings and abundance to you, Lizzie, and your precious boy
Wow! Average 42 ewes lambing a day! Will you tell us your average lambs per ewe? Incredible amount of work in 18 days. Also was curious how many lambs you lost? Thanks so much for all you and Lizzie do. Love your videos and channel!
That "ugly" Jacob sheep is adorable. I just like how Jacob sheep look. They have character.
Would love to see some more about dogs working the sheep.
So excited to know more about how Lizzie trained Fern, she's done a good job it seems!
Greetings from Australia! Thought I should let you know...was at a lamb marking workshop today and spotted a "Sheep Game" hat! Your taking over young fella' !
Hi, I just wanted to say I saw your collaboration with Tom Scott. I loved that video and had to check out more so I came over to your channel. I subscribed after a few videos and are now on day 5 of working through all your lambing playlists. I don't farm sheep, I'll never farm sheep but I love the content. Keep up the good work!
Welcome to the flock! Cammy gives us lambing, shearing, selling and is a #1 representative for Tourism Scotland. And THEN you have Lizzy doing the important jobs. Great, great channel.
Same. I think we’ve come to a good part of the Internet :)
No wonder you were all knackered - 750 lambs in 18 days! Amazing & your hard work will pay off.👍
The mad shetland & jacob x blacknose stole the show - both fab in their own way.🤭
Cher. Yes, that mad Shetland had me laughing out loud.. she is a character with her two sidekicks. The mad trio. LOL. They go trotting across the field with such dignity.
So good to see Lizzie more comfortable on camera! Cam, glad to see you look like you're doing better since you had covid. Q-why don't you use Sky more often?
She doesn't really have the training Meg does. He did mention it back many videos ago. She basically works as backup to megs direction.
Love your videos. The ewes are so strong. It is fascinating to see them.
Great job you two, as always and how is Jock doing
Glad to hear your thinking of spreading out lambing next year. I felt for you by the end this year, but probably d how you soldiered on to the end. Looking forward to hearing your numbers. 😃👍
GOT USE TO SEEING YOU GUYS EVERY DAY. BUT I GUESS YOU ARE CATCHING UP
Super Cammy. Hope you had a love break away! ❤️🇦🇺🏴
Great video Cammy ,Lizzy hard at work as usual 😜and great too see the wee pups out as well 👌
I have 9 ram lambs going to the sale in 2 weeks. Right now they are mowing grass!
The 2 ewes I culled due to one bad mother and the other didn't lamb again this year. Freezer! #18 was part of Easter dinner!
i really enjoyed the content of this vlog.....good to see such relaxed but professional teamwork between you two.....it really is priceless!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍😉😉
Great video ,it's nice to see and hear lizzy ,I'm pleased she is not so shy 😀
Awesome work by both of you. Glad you are feeling better. Love those lambs and their mamas. ❤️
Cammy, I was thinking you’d made it through lambing by the skin of your teeth. Whew!
You know your sheep the best so spreading the mating season makes sense as well as considering when you want lambs ready for market for the best chance at a good price. Of course, you and Lizzie may think of additional modifications to spread the workload. i’m hoping it works out well for you.
And don't forget to check when Ramadan ends.
I *love* that Valais-Jacob cross!!! VERY interesting!
When you come to Aberdeen can you bring some better weather with you the rain on Wednesday was torrential!
Why don't you do a live session once or twice a month during this slow time to do Q&A's where we can ask questions about all sorts of things like breeds, the local area, dog training, etc, maybe bring in Graeme as a guest from time to time. We would love to hear you guys banter about. Tell us what you need and we can donate. Maybe a new ram you want, body cam, something special for Lizzy, etc. You could also have an Amazon wish list. Worth a try?
I am glad to hear you have a better plan for next year as this year was just mad.
Camie you definitely earnt a break, we could all see you were exhausted after all that hard graft. Don't ever apologise for that either because your a husband and dad first. I'm just in awe of everything you and lizzie do and you make a great team. Not only did you get covid but you worked through it too and seeing that struggle was hard to watch, I hope now that your symptoms have disappeared and your at full strength again. 💪
Great update. Bummed you missed the sale ring, but there is always next time.
Well done Cam Good job Lambs are beginning to look great now Just watch Miss Lizzie does not whack you with her hockey stick. Any feedback from Glasgow Ver School on your still born lambs. The pups will need a bit of schooling but great examples of Borders. take care.
Oh there's the vallais x Jacob I asked about a while ago! Not ugly at all. Would love her as a park sheep to look majestic and mow the lawn. You can see the Walliser in her face and some of that crimpy curls.
Another excellent video just love you guys your work ethic is exemplary. The two pups are looking really good your Mum has made a great job of rearing them. Where was wee Jock today ?
Came here and subscribed from Hoof GP. Love this!
Love your videos. Would like to see more about your home life, type of food , maybe recipes also.
Give him a hug for me , so cute.
Wow another fantastic video. I absolutely love to watch your trained dogs round up sheep. It just blows my mind. I struggles so bad with potty training our puppies, and this is so much more training. love it. the dogs work as hard as you and Lizzie. have a great weekend. love from Washington State, USA
Very interesting vlog, Cammy. Thank you👍
Lovely video..as usual your always so nice and encouraging to the children. Lovely little boy there doing your intro.
I'd love to see a shear off between you and lizzy, see who's the best😁..but that might cause tension at home after😂
The rest did you good. You’ve got your bounce back!
Just love that home!
The black one you called a Jacob cross with the horns that stand straight up if you look at him/her the right way sideways he/she looks like a UNICORN!!! LOL😅🤣🤣😂
Great job, Adam! 👍👍
I liked that last sheep. After you sheared it it looked like a goat
Lovely video, glad you folks took a little time to recover! By the way, muggy is a term we use in the US as well!
Good to know! 👍
Cammi and Lizzie have you thought about doing your own online meat business? Lamb yes but mutton as well - don't know if you have companies in the UK like Butcher Box they freights meat direct to the customers door or the youtube channel in USA Our Wyome life they are surviving on their meat business and youtube channel - they have feeder pigs and cows and do chickens in chickens tractors in the summer - they process 6 steers every two months - you wouldn't have to do it all other farmer/cattle and pig would want to come along side what you are doing - Talk to Tom Pem about beef he would come on board with a business that does not compete with his farm shop as the meat will go all over the UK expanding his market
that valley x jacob looked amazing
I love that Valais Blacknose Jacob cross!! I’ve never seen one before. What a cool looking sheep! Interesting fiber as well.
The Jacob lambs are beautiful! Thanks!!!
Good video AGAIN. Insights to sheep life and some market goodies. And some of them Jacob (Right?!) sheep again. They're relly intersting. I would love to see some eps focused on the various breeds, maybe. Ohh that halfbreed is AMAZING!! What a looker.
I know I can't even begin to imagine how hard you work but as I see you spending your day with your beautiful wife and handsome son I would love that kind of life.
I am very lucky! 🥰
Wow a lot of lambs fro 750 sheep hope you do well Cammy 👍 I'm doing well with my land and I've got 4 texels and a texel ram. Just enjoy with my sheep.
Good bless you Cammy and family.
When you talk to Meg, what do you say....it sounds like “golly Meg”. What are you really saying?
I love the command “lie doon.” LOL
"That'll do, Meg".
Thank you!
Adamj did a great job doing that intro, well done!
Great video! Do you think the pups' herding instincts will kick in and they will become interested in the sheep? Fern seems to have enough for 3 pups!
lol the pups are so cute.
Weather wise, being from Newfoundland, Canada we say " some close out today " I knew exactly what you meant.
I think your Valais black nose Jacob mix is adorable. The wool is probably a bit unique? it looks like it leans more on the Jacob side in texture?
I think it’s quite a fair mix 😁
Pups are beautiful!
Thanks for another trip with Lizzy and you and your furry friends!! If it were me I would be keeping the black and white one, just like the looks of it!!
See ya later, Alligator!!

Its a beauty that 4 horned one !
I love when you interview lizzie.
Gets excited about the market video… Ok we missed the sale 🤣🤣 nightmare
This should be interesting with the pups running too!
That sheep looked like a calf when you sheared it lol
There is a good reason why you still have that sheep, it will be proven in the future. Love the little black sheep 🐑🐑
Hey Cammy and Lizzie 💖
I just want to give you a tip about a “thanks button” RUclips have that you can get.
It’s a way for us fans to give superchats on recorded videos ❤️
I think that's a very attractive sheep in a unique sort of way, I think you keep her because she is secretly your second favorite.
:)
That black nose is my favourite wonderful colours.
Oh I did laugh at the pups hiding in the hedge. 🤣
No that horned sheep is beautiful!
I'll have the Shetland. She looks good!
Darling child.❤
Hey, Cammie! Great video.! Meanwhile, given all your spare time, you have to tell us who you think will win Eurovision!
I’m guessing Lizzie is from South Devon! I’m from Paignton, just along the coast from Dawlish where the Teign Hockey Club is :)
Cammy, make sure you get some sheep game merch on when your on Landward.... :)
Not allowed brands mate! 🤣
Although the youngsters on it this week have all the gear on!
@@TheSheepGame your not a brand, your a legend. I suppose because your a presenter it's different, whereas if Landward was visiting you, then you could wear what you want 😜
