  • Yes, it's the 3rd time I've made this extremely handy little gadget, and the 2nd time for a viewer. It's a short video by my standards. I made it just to see if I've improved my processes. It's also a great beginners project.
Viewer Paul Birbeck has made a drawing of this gadget for use by anyone. Grab it here as a jpg: tinyurl.com/23...
Both screws are M8 socket head. The long one has a 35mm thread, the short one is 25mm and this has the heat shrink ‘bushing’ on it. There are steel and nylon washers on each.
Be sure to watch my full 4x6 Bandsaw playlist for some simple but useful mods as well as the best setup video on RUclips, according to viewers!

Right on, Rob. Love the Bandsaw videos. Mine still runs like a champ, thanks to your videos!

@StoryOfJames. Great to hear! I'm going to do another one shortly where I compare a couple of different blades to confirm how they go on a few parts. Should be useful as well.

Well done, I'll have to make some of those additions to my band saw :)

Yes you will! I recommend the gadget in this video, the vertical table mod I did (if you still have your original), the chip tray and the simple 90 degree vice stop plate. All simple and effective. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello Rob, nice job! I like the threading device you are using on tailstock. Can you tell me where to get it? Thanks, Tomas

Hi Tomas, search eBay for 'Tailstock Tap and Die Holder' and you'll see heaps of them the same as my one. Just make sure you get the right taper for your tailstock- MT2 or MT3. They used to come in a wooden box but now I see only some of them do. It's a decent kit just a bit long for a tiny lathe.
