I used the back initially to pull the spoil from the sides into the track and knock the high peaks out, gave it a rough level then ran over it with the front bucket, the front loader option would be quicker but I feel you can be more selective and accurate using both.
I'm curious, wouldn't using the front loader get the job done sooner all together?
