I find Monroe and Rosalee to be the healthiest example of a relationship on TV or Movies bar none. It's not all good. It's not all bad. Both have their moments of strength and weakness. Each supports and loves the other with true respect and deference. Neither holds the past against the other. Each helps the other to grow and be a better person. What more could anyone ask from a true partner in life?
It's a realistic healthy relationship, not a fairy tale or a toxic relationship justified by extraordinary circumstances.
In a way, theirs is the story of the Fox and the Hound, or in this case the Fox and the Wolf. Two opposite ends of nature, knowing their part, and living a balanced lifestyle. Like the wolf in Alaska that developed a bond with the local dogs, playing with them, was helped by the local people when he needed it. Wound up living a longer life than the average wolf (until some dumbass out hunting shot him >:( ).
It is one of the only examples of a healthy couple in a tv show where we watch them through the whole progression of their relationship.

i think Nick and Monroe's friendship to be more exceptional. you know, one being a Grimm, one being Wessen.
The actor playing Monroe was the best part of Grimm.

As for your thoughts-
yes, hollywood/tv writers would do better if they wrote
from their heart,
for the heart of their audience
(if&when possible) instead of trying to rewrite
their viewers' own viewpoints.
People want characters and storylines that they can actually relate to-
not some unrealistic agenda-saturated foolishness that has no connection with most people's lives....
but I guess that's why they call tv
"programming".

I like it even more the fact that Rosalee becomes more involved later. Nick and his friends and allies have such beautiful friendships and chemistry
I remember hearing that the original plan was that Rosalee was only going to be in this one episode but the chemistry between her and Monroe was so great and the test audience liked her so much they decided to make her a permanent part of the cast.
It was obvious chemistry right from this scene.

Whoever wrote in rosalee was a genius it’s rare for writers to hit the mark with a new character in shows more often then not they don’t work but in this case it was pure genius much like felicity in arrow since she was a one episode walk on when she started

As I understand it, she was originally only supposed to be a part of this particular crime story arc, but the reaction was so positive they made Rosalee one of the main cast.

@@davewalker8519 Yeah I heard that too that Rosalee was only supposed to show up for this one episode but the viewers liked her so much and the chemistry between her and Monroe was so good they made her part of the main cast.
This is such a well acted first meeting between Monroe and Rosalee in retrospect! Bree Turner does such a wonderful job of sub-communicating Rosalee's instant physical attraction to Monroe and Silas Weir-Mitchell plays Monroe in an absolutely adorable way by being dorky with Monroe's disbelief in thinking "did she just act like she's into me? How can someone that hot fancy me? Is it even right for me as a Blutbad to be attracted to Fuchsbau? Was this all in my head just because I like her?". It's superb directing too because it's clear foreshadowing that we all now know in retrospect! One of TV's most healthiest couples as somebody else has said in the comments!

@@fw1421 keep seeing comments about others wanting to see a new series within the same universe that follows the children of the show's main cast. Personally I think this series could've also been done into a video game given the nice blend of detective noir and supernatural, just have to have the right developers to pull it off though.
I love that Grimm gave the actress who played Rosalee a serious and likable character. As a guy I grew up watching her stuck in roles like the fish tank girl in Deuce Bigalow or the the wet t shirt cheerleader in Sorority Boys. Then the villain in the Bring it on sequel. Glad to see she had a serious non just eye candy like role. 👍

True it's also one of the few times we see a grown-up and healthy relationship on tv that really progresses from dating, to marriage and to approaching parenthood without that annoying will they, won't they nonsense.
Does anybody else find the moment that they reveal themselves to each other kinda sexy? It was such an intimate thing for her to do. Also, you can see the chemistry and attraction between the two of them in their eyes, no words necessary. Fantastic acting.

I just binged Grimm in 3 weeks, and I guess I am missing the show so much. But all I really miss is Monroe and Rosalee and their love for each other. Ugh I wish I could rewatch it for the first time again. I love them.
I was honestly disappointed that the show ended before Rosalee gave birth to her triplets and Monroe became an overly doting parent.

@@mangocake4235 The thing that also frustrated a lot was the rushed conclusion of The Black Claw storyline. Trubel dealing with the remnants off screen really rubbed me the wrong way.

@@Dularr Also he was casted very well for his role as a turned mad company project leader in the NUMB3RS episode DREAMLAND. The way he had played the manager who had lost his comen sense was brilliant. Regerettably this picture is often not far from the reality. Why else thought the German car company managers they could go through with their exhaust gas swindle.

I have always said that while the show is titled Grimm, and contains some really good stories about Nick, the true nature of this show is the love story of Monroe and Rosalie. That is the entire point of this show. I have loved watching it through 4 times so far.
Every time I got through these clips I convince myself I'm just gonna watch a few, and then 2 hours later I find myself binge watching the entire series again.
I’m currently binge watching Grimm and honestly, I love these two more than the primary couple.
Rosalee is one of the most beautiful and laid-back actresses in a long time.

Well from everything we've heard about Rosalee's brother he seems like a complicated person. He apparently helped Rosalee get clean but had no problem selling the drugs she was hooked on to other people. Also like you said he was selling human body parts as herbal remedies. We then found out in later episode that he supplied fake passports to resistance members so he was involved in a lot of shady stuff.
Yeah. Later on when her sister becomes "part of the band" and a close friend, you could kind of understand Nick would be willing to allow for some nuance and concede he wasn't that bad of a guy. It just seems odd for him at this point, when he knows him just as a drug dealer and seller of human body parts (!!!) to lament his death as if he was someone innocuous and undeserving to die... I mean, come on!
@@zanizone3617 Well compared to the other 'bad wesen' Nick had already met ALOT worse I mean as far as we know Rosalee's brother never actually killed anyone (with the body parts he was just selling them).

I agree 100%,but the powers that be didn’t agree with us. I loved this show. I even bought the whole series on DVD and have watched them all multiple times. We will just have to keep our fingers crossed that someday it will happen.

i dunno whether others have experienced this or not, but the way Rosalee speaks has an ASMR-like quality to it. My ears tingle when she ends her sentences, especially when she pronounces her 's' for example. I 've never been much into furries, but if there was any character that came close to igniting that 'furry' flame within me, it would have to be hers.
Mann rhis show could have gone to 10 seasons. I really miss those days when everyday I was excited to watch a episode.

@@poughkeepsie8516 Probably happened after I tuned out then. I made it until somewhere in S4 I think. I absolutely hated the Adalind (and Juliette turning into Eve) storylines. Adalind's storyline should've ended in S1 if you ask me. Everything just became so over the top with the story arcs. In a way, I missed the simpler first couple of seasons, with the 'Wesen of the week' setup. Casual storylines with loveable characters, instead of the forced, farfetched bigger stories that came after. That's always the problem with these long running shows, if you ask me. It always has to be bigger and badder than the last season to stay interesting for the viewer. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I very often becomes the downfall of shows. If you ask me, the reason some shows keep on for so long, is because they lack that absolute focus on overarching storylines, across multiple seasons. Shows like Law and Order, NCIS, etc. They have bigger storylines, but you can also tune in anytime you want and still have a good time. Ok, rant over now, promise! ;)

VIKDR yeah that’s not half as good as the look on her face when she found out Juliette was a hexenbeast I thought I was gonna die laughing when they walked out and rosalee was alone and she exclaimed she’s a hexenbeast!!! The look and way she said it was awesome
Here's an idea. How about we have a full length movie made for Grimm? Would be a lot better than some of these other TV remakes.
Normally i really like this type of supernatural show but never really got into this one, i may have stopped to soon but i never could understand why they are all so affraid of the "big bad Grimm". The only power he has is the ability to see them. And almost all the beings he encounters can kill a human easily enough.
he is often immune to their powers, he has super strength, the ability to fight them. so no seeing their emotional woge isn't his only power.
The Grimms also have centiries long history of killing wesen indiscriminately. Wesen parents also used Grimms as a scare tactic against their children, so they grow up fearing Grimms. Most of the time when a wesen does not fear being immediately killed by a Grimm is because they are a big, bad predator wesen that actually has a fighting chance against a Grimm. The Grimm ends the fight victorious and there is no one to spread a tale of having killed a Grimm. Reapers are specially trained to kill Grimms and they still mostly lose.
