    Hi folks, story and back drop to start off before getting into the guts of the video. I felt it was necessary to give some context and why this has happened. Anyways hope you enjoy. See description of the video for link to 1 million free skill points for any new character. Cheers

    One reason PI is dropping in price has to do with changes to structures (dont think you mentioned this). First off CCP changed HS moon mining resulting in loads of Athnors getting taken down and stored or put back on the market. Then we had abandoned mode and after that cores making people move away from structures towards NPC stations and changed strategies like structure spamming in null. This has pulled the handbreak on structure usage and therefore production killing the demand.
    Less structures in space also means less fuel being used. Fuel production is also a big consumer of PI.

    Thanks for the video.
    Good idea for an update video. "what PI items to start harvesting" for the upcoming industry patch.

    i live in a wormhole, i make 900 mill a month and all i have to do is reset extractors once a week, and once a month haul out to hs and pay someone to haul it to jita. takes about 30-40 mins a month, isk per click is very good imo

    • @strange_Net

      Hey TEC, thats pretty decent TBH. You do live in probably the best space to do PI which a good majority do not. I stuff from RSI which is why I keep away, 35 years of gaming hasn't been kind on my wrists 😭

      @@strange_Net If you have the operating funds, you can set up factory planets to make 1.8B in net profit on a monthly, per character. (This is on the low side... I have a trading character that multiplies this by 2 fold) I run this setup on 4 accounts, 8 characters totals. After initial setup, it's only about 45mins of moving goods every 2 days. 14B net profit per month for ~20 hours of work (excluding initial setup) is not a bad margins.

      Downside, make sure you diversify. Don't kill your own product cost because you are greedy :)

    • @justinsiebuhr9577
      @justinsiebuhr9577 3 года назад

      P.S. All of this is done in High Sec, 1-jump from a major trade hub. Biggest issues are: High isk requirements for factory planets, high M3 volumes, Cannot just make the same item, you will ruin your profit by overproduction.

    I admit I treat Planetary Interaction as a sideline to get some T2 or T3 resources that mitigate costs. I am not really trying to maximize profit, so I often forget each planet for weeks. I currently make Construction Blocks and Machine parts mostly, which I then use to make some T2 ships and drones..... working on my level 5 this week.

      Hey Greg, can be handy I guess to have a stream of items coming in. Just make sure you are costing them into the final product properly. Stuff you mine isnt free 😃

    Also, buying power of ISK has increased significantly. I notice this mostly against Plex and Skill-trading, but a lot of my modules and implants dropped in price.

    With the April 2021/upcoming changes to specifically Tech1 but in general ALL production in EvE, PI is getting really interesting lately. A bunch of ores are getting reduced and replaced by PI products. Good times ahead for PI, prices are already rising.

    IMO, it also has to do with the war. Reaction had a similar trend as people prepared for war and stockpiled, but then goons didn’t fight and now the market is overflowed.

      Hey Oslier, you bring up a good point that tbh I hadn't thought about. Thats whats so great about the market so many factors go into it. Really is so complex and interwoven into Eves very fabric.

      @@vandannski when I said fight, I meant showing up for timers, specially allied timers. You forget that in eve, the players care more about losing their stuff than defending the Alliance structures. Goons are not fighters they are crabbers.

    "I've never done PI. I've never done it in the past. I have no intention of doing it in the future." That surprised the hell out of me. I would have thought PI was one of your top 3 mostly passive income strategies.

    • @strange_Net
      @strange_Net  4 года назад +8

      Hey Tim, I suffer from RSI in my wrists, comes from 35 years of gaming! PI is very click intensive so ive stayed away from it for that reason. I do try to be as transparent as possible when making videos and seemed only right to state that id not ever done PI.

    Towers were a lot better for the player, they could defend themselves, unlike the citadels where if your not on the guns you might as well not have them.
    I see prices going back up especially after the November cure kicks in and people are once again allowed outside.

    • @strange_Net
      @strange_Net  4 года назад

      Hey Kal, yea I can see it as well, for null sec as well they are great for a forward base and are now much cheaper and with hardeners are much much harder to take down. Shame that they neuted the new stations so hard compared to the old.

    • @KalRandom
      @KalRandom 4 года назад +1

      @@strange_Net I could drop in a WH have a station basic defenses up and running in matter of few hours, and take it down in same time frame. Once you learned the interface for permissions it was easy to have non corp members in the shields. I refuse to buy a Citadel, as I have watched to many fall way to quick (one last week to Lashaks). It is another way Eve is going to get you to spend money on the game. They are making it "new player friendly" to the point of years worth of training are useless now.
      OK, enough of the rant, as Citadel are a real sore spot for me.

    • @strange_Net

      @@KalRandom Also made anchoring Level 5 worthless. Cheers CCP! Yea I start to break out in a cold sweat at the thought of setting up a POS. Wasnt much fun to so research and invention in but was necessary. Yea like 4 Leshaks can easy take down and Astruhus which is nuts when you think about how damn hard even a half setup large tower was.

    • @KalRandom
      @KalRandom 4 года назад

      @@strange_Net The 1 day set up then a week to take down, that really bugs me. All CCP want's is to have them blown up.
      I have found people in help chat ready to say F this game, really helped them, with just info and advice. Them go on to set up stations, always against my advice, with the ever famous going to take over Eve attitude, while throwing real money at the game. Then there station falls, there well F this game again.
      The point is to keep players, not for them to play 3 to 6 months.

    • @strange_Net
      @strange_Net  4 года назад +3

      @@KalRandom Yea thats a good reason to why I dont own a station. I advise the same, setting up a station is nothing but a drain of resources, far to easy to destroy and grief. The fact that they are now made of paper really points at what CCP really wants. Nobody really messed with a large tower in HS, you could have a home without the consent worry of it being destroyed by 5 people. They could still be destroyed but it wasnt easy unless a whole corp showed up. Which is basically how it should be.
