You have extremely nice review but I couldn’t find what I’m looking for. Example, if I connect this to a projector, is it possible during casting, you can split the sound to output in a Bluetooth Home Theater instead of projector sound output? I have connectivity issue in my home. The home theater is in front and the projector at the back. Using 3.5mm jack wired will not give you Dolby Atmos Surround quality. Thanks for your answer, appreciated.

How does this Chromecast handle Netflix - and other services - profiles? Can a Google TV profile be assigned a corresponding Netflix profile?
Does it have to be plugged into a wall outlet or will it work off a tv usb slot?
@@melhemhayek1328 The older models of Chromecast yes, but this model no. I tried powering from the TV's USB to save a wall outlet, but that gave an installation error.

Please help. I am worried that if I buy this, I might have a problem connecting to wifi. Our apartment's wifi connection prompts us to a page first where we need to put in a username and password that we get from our apartment's admin office. I'm just too scared it might not prompt me on that login page. Because it doesn't work with the old chromecast model. Any workaround?

What if I didn’t plug mine to the wall?
If you use this in a family can they have different Google accounts? Or do they all need to be tied to one? If the latter, should I create a new Google account for the purpose? If I use mine, can guests to my home mess with my Google account and do things in my name? What can they do? No reviews seem to be addressing this. Why does it need a Google account and what access does it give people to my Google account?
I agree with you, this needs to be explored. Anyway, just adding, historically Chromecast was only a device which would allow you to play something on your phone, and "send it" to the Chromecast so you can watch it on TV, the device has to be added in your account, because it is part of smart home (Google Home) devices which are tied to certain account and "home", and then you can share this "home" environment with another accounts. But it never worked as a standalone plug and play "tv". For example if you bring chromecast to a hotel, you have to create a wifi hotspot (if hotel wifi not available or needs special logging in through website), then connect chromecast to the tv, and in Google Home app on your phone go through setup process, where you add the device to your "home" environment. In past you even needed to reset the device everytime in new environment, cause it didn't connect to unknown wifis and didn't communicate with the phone. Only after all this is done you can play some video. I am considering to upgrading to the new one for my bedroom, because with current Chromecast I need to control the video from my phone application (ie. netflix, hbo, etc). With this one, if I understand it correctly, I could use the remote for video and also for tv so I could just put away the real TV remote (I don't watch anything but chromecast since the digital broadcast DVBT2 is not available on my old bedroom tv).
I had to change my google password. When I tried to change it on the chromecast it won’t bring up the keyboard for me to type it in. Any suggestions?

Why doesn't anyone discuss setting up this device with an A/V surround sound system? You have to connect it directly to the receiver and Google support is useless in giving information about the settings, etc. For example, the default energy setting shuts off my TV every 30 minutes when I'm not using the chromecast.
