    Well done, not bad at all for this time of year.
    Takes me back to when I lived and grew up in Lowestoft and the hundreds of Tilley lamps along Pakefield beach to Kessingland on a Friday night.
    That was October and November when cod beckoned!

      Don’t see many tilley lamps these days, I retired mine this winter and now use a headlamp and LED lantern. Can’t warm my hands like I used to over the old tilley. Cod, what are they?
      Thanks for watching Laurence, and the comment .

    All in all, a decent day that made for a nice, pleasant video. With a nice little thornback ray to top it all off.
    Well done. Nice comparison of hooks and rigs, and then a variation of bait and rig to catch the ray.
    If this is a quiet month, bring on the busy ones.
    Thank you for sharing, take care and stay safe.
    PS. Please don't take this as a criticism, just most don't show the dispatching of a catch because some take offence.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  Год назад +1

      It was a very good day. As far as the dispatching of the fish is concerned, I did think long and hard about whether to leave it in the video but decided to keep it in to show sea fishing as it really is.
      I hope it didn’t spoil the video for you.
      Thanks for watching and look after yourself.

      @@theangliaangler No, it didn't spoil a very pleasant, if busy for yourself, video for me.
      I just wanted to give you a heads up that I have seen people complain about this before and make you aware.
      I just truly appreciate the time and effort that youtubers go to for the pleasure of others, myself included.🫡👍👏

      @@ianturner3033 I did think its was a bit of a risk but I’m sure most of the people who watch fishing on RUclips are anglers/or where. If they aren’t I think it shows we don’t let the fish suffer unnecessarily .
      I always look forward to hearing from you. Stay safe Ian.

    Nice one mate, its good to see the old booms work just as well as any of the new types of rig. Yes they cut down the cast distance a bit but that does not bother me as I have never tried to be a power caster. Keep up the great videos.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  Год назад

      The obsession with being able to cast a long way just means as often as not you’re just casting over the fish. It is a handy skill to have at times but more often than not 50 yards or so is all thats needed. Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated .

      I used the carpark on All Saints Road, NR33 0JN. At the southern end of the carpark there is a wide concrete slipway/path which goes straight down to the beach. I imagine it gets quite busy in the summer. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

    • @theangliaangler

      “Necessity is the mother of invention “
      I made them myself after losing too many baiting needles etc in the sand/shingle. Now I know where things are instead of saying “ Now where did I put those scissors etc” Same with the bait elastic.

    Nice to see you dispatch a fish immediately rather than letting it gasp its last.

    • @theangliaangler
      @theangliaangler  10 месяцев назад

      If I plan to take the fish for the table or its deeply hooked and will be badly injured during hook removal I will dispatch them straight away. Otherwise I’ll put them in the bucket to give them time to recover. Even lip hooked Whiting don’t always survive unfortunately .
      Thanks for the comment Richard.

    Quite a haul this trip, shame about the deep hook but at least it didn't suffer for long.

      Yes Anthony it was definitely a good catch and i was pleased to be able to return the vast majority in a good condition. Thanks for watching.
