Jazz like this it's like an adventure. Slow steps to a steady pace and complete immersion. And then you find yourself wanting to stay in the journey before reaching the destination.
Awesome description..love it!
what amazes me is the bass line. for 10 minutes he kept that up. sublime. Leroy Vinnegar
Lineup:
Piano - Les McCann
Tenor Saxophone - Eddie Harris
Trumpet - Benny Bailey
Bass - Leroy Vinnegar
Drums - Donald Dean
So often you don't know who the players are especially in jazz which go back quite a ways...thank you very much!
@@555calex totally agree, the most important is to spread love of music, thank you for your great post.
that is one amazing line up ...Donald dean kills it !!
thanks
been wondering who the great rhythm section was at this gig
So great.
Love the rhythm - Eddie Harris - awesome!!!
This is a miracle, first time hearing this jam
I flipped at seeing footage of Compared to What after so many decades. Now new stuff!!!
Thanks!
Pure talent perfection
It is like a wonderfull painting (unfinished painting with many possible outcomes, a Story of the mankind as individuell but also kollektiv)
great colors/ figural,sureal, abstract, expressionismus...
You guys rock the 1969!!!
Thank you so much for creating and sharing
I never tire of this
Beautiful.
… heard nothing like it since yr gone. .. love u dad. Pepe LONGO
Wow that’s a great jam with a great rhythm section , Leroy certainly worked up a sweat and no wonder he was hitting those strings hard , thanks !
Right On Brother !! !!
👏🏾👏🏾
Very great playing
This is golden. It's one thing to hear a recording, but it's an entirely different thing to see how it's actually done. I'm sure that someone else has done that left hand tambourine groove, but it's a new one to me. It actually looks like one of those hi-hat tambourines, but played by hand!
I Love it. So Cool, so Smooth.
Thank You for the Memories !! !!
What a great group they were.👍🇺🇲
And this was just an impromptu thing: neither Eddie Harris nor Benny Bailey were part of Les McCann's trio.
Eddie Harris & Les McCann… Dudes!!!
7 minutes in and this piece hasn't particularly grabbed and carried me the way the others from this show do
no complaint tho'. I'm thoroughly enjoying the jazz adventure of waiting to see if it comes together and takes off
jazz at its best is a trip to what's next ... and the suspense can be as delicious whether it rises and flies or just
spends 10 minutes poking around in search of the escalator.
I could listen to this ensemble "just poking around" with "no particular place to go" for hours.
Modal jam, pre-empting a Weather Report vibe.
Fuck yeah!
Phenomenal
BANG!
great performance, congrats from Chile
“ Nice “
How many time signatures
