    Doing one at a time why wouldn't you torque it down to 125 as soon as you put it in? since all the other studs are still at 125 as well?

    So I am think of doing this on my 2001 with 99500mikes on it. Maybe a stupid question but are you loosening up all of the original bolts, taking them all out then installing the new studs or are you doing one at a time. Just asking because I don’t want to wreck my head.

      Always do one at a time. unless you plan to replace the head gasket then you can remove all of them and remove the cylinder head to replace the head gasket.

    You’re brave doing the one stud method. Mainly because your letting pressure off one spot and re applying pressure to a tiny spot on the head gasket 26 times. But keep rocking on with the build. 🤘🏻

      Doing it that way yeah it is pretty brave. Now if you do them one at a time and torque them to what the factory bolts are it won’t matter done a few of them now that way. Just gotta make sure to re check them a couple times. Worst case scenario it leaks not all that big of a deal

    How likely is it to break head studs on the way out (taking out old ones) ?

    • @cole1407

      Highly possible I've been told.

      Don't use an air impact wrench and it becomes unlikely.

    Gonna do a hot re torque? You’d be surprised how much they back off once oil reaches 180.

      @@Rammsteinschmidt cold, many like doing them I'm not a fan of hot-retorques. It is not recommended by ARP.

    Why would you shave your socket instead of taking all the rockers out??
    It's smart to take them all out and check for pitting or corrosion in your trunions which are prone to wear.
    When one of your rockers lock up, you are going to have a bad day.

    • @NeverSatisfied24v
      @NeverSatisfied24v  4 года назад

      Connor Ammerman lol no need to pull them all we didn’t shave the socket because of the rockers. Truck doesn’t have high mileage so he wasn’t worried about checking them all.

      NeverSatisfied24v I’m just sayin homie, if it’s all apart and accessible, why not check that? Supposed to service and inspect your rocker arms every 150k or earlier in some cases.

      Connor Ammerman I’m not disagreeing with ya just not my truck. When I do my I plan on replacing mine with Manton on rockers and a whole bunch of new parts.
