Kanye literally tweeted out a screenshot of a phone call with J. Cole saying they came to an understanding back in 2018 , super weird of him to come back to it after so long.
I know there's this popular narrative going around that rap beef is helping the scene, but when it's over petty shit it just feels lame, I mean some of this beef rapp is happening between Drake (a near 40 year old ) getting mad that Ross (a near 50 year old) unfollowed him on IG. Wish Ye would've just stayed out of it like Andre 3k did in 2020, But then again most of these big rappers still act like they're in high school with petty squabbles.
I just don't think he cares about music anymore man. He even kinda hinted as much in that recent interview he did where he said he hasn't even really been listening to music recently and just been focused on making money not to mention his mood being brought down like 5 levels when questions about new music were asked. I think he just sees music as his primary source of income so he has to keep doing it. I've seen enough potential in his recent stuff to believe that if he became properly motivated/inspired again he could still make incredible music but I don't see that happening unless something drastic changes in his personal life which probably means never at this point.

Ye's intention was always to promote his next and current album in all of this. I just want to listen to his music, I don't care about any of the other stuff.
I think Kendrick is the better rapper and I’d pick him any day of the week over Drake, but unless Kendrick does something wicked in response this whole beef is leaning in Drake‘s favor. Everybody ganging up against him is making him seem like some kind of king that needs to be dethrone, and he still managed to stay on top despite what Push had on him even if his image did take a hit. I don’t know what all this is to accomplish.
