  • I went and bought this absolutely beautiful tank from ProShrimp. It's the 30 Litre cube nano shrimp tank made by Dennerle.
    All the products I use are featured on my Amazon Shop:
    www.amazon.co....
    I recorded this on my GoPro which isn't the best to record this kind of thing but it's all I had that would record hours of footage.
    If anyone is thinking of buying one of these things, do it. I did this over the course of two afternoons, and on the third day added the shrimp.
    Packed loads of plants, the Cabomba I thought id try looks really really nice so far I love it, hopefully it's an easy plant to keep. Got some Anubis, Vallis, Crypts, Hair Grass, Marimo moss balls and some other plants. Tanks at 26c.
    Some of the grass type plants I have i'm worried will die off. But i'll give them a chance. Can't wait for the tank to mature and for the plants to grow in and take over.
    Let me know what you think, and any questions please comment below!
    Thank you for watching.

    This is an old video so it's unlikely that I'll get a response but I have to say that this tank has really inspired me to create an aquascape very similar. In the coming weeks I plan on setting up my first shrimp tank (still deciding on size but it'll likely be about 20 litres due to space restrictions). I currently have a Betta in a planted tank but I'm not too happy with the scape since it is my first, though it is perfectly fine for the Betta and he seems to like it. I'm going to spend a lot more time planning this aquascape since I can't set up the tank for a few weeks due to getting a new boiler installed and the placement of the tank would clash with the process of the installation. Thanks for the great aquascape video!

      I’m glad to hear that it has inspired you! Always a welcomed comment. I’m still active so I still see all my comments regardless of date of video 😋 ..sounds good! Taking your time to prepare is always a good idea. Go as big as you can with the tank, the bigger the better, and easier it will be to maintain stable water parameters etc. Let me know how it goes 😁

      Kierans Fish I might be able to stretch to a 30 litre tank as the tank will be the same as width as my shelf but then again I have to take into consideration my budget. It's not the size of the tank that gets me it's the substrate as upgrading form a 20 to a 30 is relatively inexpensive and maybe costs an extra 10-20 quid depending on the tank manufacturers. I have some money from my 18th birthday left so I may as well put it towards something good rather than wasting it.
      By the way I love those long plants at the back, might have to get some of those or at least consider them when planning the scape.

    Do your rocks not need removing for cleaning? The large pebbles and rocks in my tank need cleaning every 3-4 weeks as they get covered with algae/slimy black stuff. It's been this way for a year now. Anyone have any clue why?

    • @KieransFish
      @KieransFish  8 лет назад

      Zoe Northeast algae is normal. Certain fish will eat the algae as food. Fish such as otocinclus.

    • @zoen8354
      @zoen8354 8 лет назад +1

      Kierans Fish so you never need to remove your rocks for cleaning and the algae eaters are enough? I'm setting up a new, bigger tank now I have more experience but want to make sure whatever i put in there (and spend ages positioning/planting up) isn't going to have to be disrupted every month.

    • @KieransFish
      @KieransFish  8 лет назад

      Zoe Northeast algae isn't really a bad thing it can just become unsightly. The otos clean it to a certain extent but some of my rocks do have algae and I may sometimes remove them and rub off the algae with a towel. But algae can give a natural look.

      You could get away with changing water once a month for example, if you had a big tank and very few fish. It all depends on how much nitrates are in the water. But no, you cannot have a setup that requires 0 water changes.

      @KieransFish  8 лет назад +1

      MsTrix23 hello, sorry mate I don't have Facebook but you could email me or reply on here if you wish. Sorry that you're having trouble with your tank. I'm guessing the water went black because you didn't rinse the gravel first? The wood floated because it needs to soak in a bucket of water for a long time like a week before you place it in. This makes it sink and removes the brown tannings that will stain your water. You could also sit a rock or two on the wood so it sinks. I feel your pain with the plants too, they can be a pain. Iv found that sand or very fine gravel works best with planting plants. Any more questions just ask! Hope this helps mate.

      Kierans Fish I thought that sort of substrate is shipped wet because it had bacteria in it.

      Paul Kennedy I'm pretty sure it's just standard black gravel.

      Haha, all opinions are welcome, I am that type to constantly mess with it though, to make it look ‘right’. However I do like the messy natural look

    Annoying and waste of time video, learn nothing about this fantastic tank. Retitle 'blokes hand in water with plant and stone' too much music and nothing said

    • @KieransFish
      @KieransFish  4 года назад

      I know, it’s a very old video and one of the first ones I did. It was just meant so you could see the process 😁

      @RoxusRemo 4 года назад +1

      You need to learn to read mate, literally says nothing about him explaining the process or the tank. Just a shrimp tank build with a list of the product/plants used. I learnt lots.
