Back to this topic again. I visited Krabi again this past April after Chang Mai for Songkran. I admit I got disoriented as I booked a decent hotel across the beach, 20 minutes from my first visit. In my opinion, Krabi is not a prime beach., hence our excursion to Railay. Our stay was quiet, till we congregated at Maya Bay with tourists from Phuket. I'm not a Phuket fan other than visiting there during the sandbox. It's a mess, with only Krabi slightly better.
There's Krabi Province, but the focus tends to be on Ao Nang area and people are lead to believe its the only beach Krabi Province has . If you head west towards Klong Muang things get way better. If I was to retire there it would be well away from Ao Nang tourist area and I wouldn't be battling the tourists for the beach.
@@asiawithalexenjoy your video well done would like to retire in Thailand bang saray one day would 8million baht and pension 40.000baht month be enough to live in Thailand asking for advice
Thanks so much for the video. How is the weather in Krabi in December? I am considering visiting in December but only if the water is going to look crystal clear. Any insights?
me and my girlfriend went to ao nang for a few days recently , wouldn’t go again far to many Indians , literally had to walk nearly a mile to find a Thai owned restaurant from our hotel
I didn't mention it in the video but Klong Muang Beach area is great. Ao Nang beach area is a super busy tourist area and not for me. I wanted to show Ao Nang as it has the condos and what most people associate with Krabi.
I spent 3 days in Krabi Town in 2023 thinking that it was the place to be. Well, it was really laid back and not much to do. It is good for a day trip and maybe a one night stay, but long term would be a challenge for me. However, Ao Nang is great. Lots to do, a good beach and jump off point for other destinations. Lots of restaurants, shopping and nightlife and beautiful. I think that it is a possible long term destination for some, but other locations should be considered.
I studied Thailand and not worthy for my retirement . Awesome country and been to Krabi several times and as recent as last May. It's a definite pass for me, along with Thailand in general. Updating retirement visas is a nuisance every 90 days and questionable tax implications down the road. It's an option for those of limited funds for now, compared to what's relative at country of origin. It might work for some, but I'll keep it as a vacation destination every odd year.
You are poorly informed. There are many types of Visas (Specifically LTR, ELITE, DTV) which do not require a 90 day check in. Additionally since most long term visas only require a yearly check in. Additionally if you leave the country, the yearly clock starts over whenever you reenter the country. Bangkok is a world class city that makes most other countries look third world. And Bangkok is the major air hub of for most or Asia since most countries are only a few hours away (HK, Macau, Philippines, Singapore, etc). And compared to the USA, the cost of living expense is 1/3 of the USA while sacrificing nothing. You really should do a better job of your due diligence when criticizing other countries.
@@TheCommanderLV You are very poorly informed. Most if not all visas do indeed required a 90 day report. In general the Elite visa staff will help you do yours and handle all the steps. I have been to Thailand 15 times on various visas over the years

Great place for a week's holiday, absolutely beautiful but not a living destination for.most people, way too boring and humid but yes it's gorgeous

Thanks for commenting. As I always say, one person's paradise is another one's purgatory. Where do you plan to retire?

@@TheCommanderLV and you should be less brittle and let people Habe an opinion, Thailand isn't cheap anymore and it's extremely racist

Can't wait to visit. One thing I love about Thailand is the affordable massage. Does Krabi have the same? Thank you for the info
Thanks for commenting! Yes, Krabi has tons of massage places.
I was informed that Krabi is pretty much a happy free zone.
Do about SICHON and KHANOM. Many untouchable beaches and good to tranquil retirement
Sounds like a plan
You can live their cheap but it’s very problematic for expats
Why?
