You have to remember this was a restart after Clint Bowyer (and others) took tires on a pit stop while Gordon and Johnson stayed out on old ones. That was Clint’s shot at the win having the fresh rubber. He did what I’d have expected any driver to do with new tires. As a #48 fan myself I was disappointed with the lousy finish but the Hendrick cars had a decision to make under yellow and they both stayed out.

The Gordon-Burton fight is iconic. Gordon has a temper, and he's been in more fights than you'd think. You could do a couple episodes of just Gordon fights.

In Bubba's defence, both of those incidents (with Bowman and McDowell) he definitely has a right to be mad. If anything the darfs should be mad at McDowell and Bowman for intentionally wrecking someone

Clints move was stupid? Well i guess he could have just run through the 24 which would have been better? I don't remember how many laps were left but going for the win makes it alright and if it wouldn't have been Gordon and a guy who should be 4 time no one would have said a word

@@MMCS07 the second run in at martinsville between Jeff Gordon and Clint bowyer which was actually part of what made Jeff so angry in the first place and also you missed the final contact at Phoenix which cut Jeff’s tire down and the rest was history. A lot of payback stories have a lot more context too them

Bowyer got SHOVED into that corner by Newman- or were you oblivious to that part? Bowyer didn’t have much choice considering Newman pushed him practically into the back of the 24.
Jeff Gordon was one of the smallest drivers on the circuit, but he was unafraid to go at it with anyone!
Kenseth proved to everyone there that he had no problem laying down the law- hardcore.

@@mesc681 right? I’m no fan of payback IN the racecar but that day it was completely justified. Joey needed to be shown there were consequences for driving over your head and dumping others like he had been doing. This one, where he pounced on Keslowski was just epic.
