Here's the blog post: news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/24062308/undying-glory-awaits-in-trials?blzcmp=blizzard-news How are you feeling about the Gauntlet and coming changes?
I stand by your point of trying to "break" the season every chance they get. The players already feel the game being a bit stale in comparison to other titles.
honestly barely care, just clicked to give the vid a view and get a feel for how this went. i hope the game flops even harder and i wish the game developer as a whole all the worst
Pointless content, 0 rewards, no Uber unique, can't play as a team or clan or friends you would just make the time longer if you do. Reward are useless 925??? You get that at duriel, malphas, and dungeon and vaults. So why try the gauntlet. Also if you are casual and only play weekends even if you make it to board by Monday the record is gone so why try???
Something no one seems to be pointing out is that they’re bringing back powers that used to exist outside of itemization. Bringing them back as items kills their excitement because they now have to consume a slot. It just doesn’t work as well.
That and they thinking casually by just assuming people will have fun with using the power right away. It’s mostly about working toward and progressing that power
Wouldn't matter anyway itemization is ass nothing matters non wealth to accumulate no reason to play..no pvp noway to show off ur character..no competition..no incentive to do do anything grinding is pointless the game is catering to 6year old its to easy no hard decission making...gearing is absolutely trash...aspects are dumb af...skill tree is basic bitch shit...the game is somthing u play on a airplane to Florida for 2 or 3
They should put the vampire powers in to special jewels you can socket in your gear, your right, taking up an item slot sucks the fun out of the powers
Bro Let’s them draw a couple more horse skins than they will spend a couple minutes to fix the game. Thing will change but Diablo 4 is Trash game. We spent 75$ for this game and you need to spend another 75$ to buy DLC if you want to play in season 5. They don’t give an f about the game. They only care about your wallet.
@@AnHuynh01101 I agree, Helldivers 2 really opened my eyes to what a reasonable “live service” could be, and I’ll probably be leaving D4 behind until a better game comes along to sate my ARPG fix. Unfortunately crossplay is a must due to my friend group being spread out on different platforms.
If you really expected a game to turn around in a mid-season patch, it's on you to be honest. They've teased some large scope changes in S4, and that's might be a turning point you're looking for. Or not. We'll see.
@@AnHuynh01101 horse skins, horse skins. Don't buy it wtf?? Because of bullshit comments like yours I bought LE and it's awful. Everything in d4 10 times better (visuals, music, overall quality - LE is just 10 years behind), endgame is the same. Empowered Monoliths are so lame omg... The only better thing in LE is loot filter. So you are just Blizz hater m8. And have you seen LE cosmetics for 50 bucks? It's a joke. Amateur designers from 2009 draw it. So yeah, all LE cosmetics just suck on every, basically every D4 free skin
They should have more plans to keep seasonal content around after the seasons are over. Like having vampire infected areas be a part of the game still. They spend months of dev time on the seasons and then basically just throw everything away. Doing what PoE does and keep large portions of the seasonal content around permanently would give players more and more variety in gameplay and it would keep bringing value to the game, rather than scrapping all of that dev/artist time and not using it at all again.
Totally agree with this point. Keep a chunk of previous season themes as permanent additions to the game. As time goes on there is just a lot of stuff and content to do. D4 is just boring to play right now.
Vampire areas used existing enemies and assets, so they required no development per se. Blood seekers and ancients should absolutely return in some form.
might be an unpopular oppinion but feature bloat was the reason i quit poe after 11 years since i was just done keeping up with 10k ways to get different affix y that you have to google what kind of gimmicky content you have to do now, when you just want to run maps in peace but have to stop to play tower defence or build a temple. Its also a nightmare for new players. While this was awesome in the first seasons of poe to combine the developement of seasons and actual core game content by using them as both, and speeding up the development in a major (and smart) way, in the end you have to stop at some point or people would have to consult wiki entries for 50% of the game time. So i think its a concious decission to not just add this seasonal content to keep the game core intact and develope that seperately (they have enough people to do it, not like GGG with their small team in the past). Yes having bloodtide right now would be cool - but we would have by now already bloodtide, construct stuff and malignant tunnels on the overwold already - imagine that 2 years from now - you could not turn a corner without running into some past seasonal mechanic
@@gringoboy701 nah they 100% could write a skill or reaction of some kind that leverages the "aggro" code. The problem is I bet the person who wrote the original code is long gone because they weren't paying them enough. ANY other non-game, or game, company pays almost double or even triple what Blizzard does.
This livestream was a fail. Even during the showcase for gauntlet, the devs read out a comment that pointed out a massive flaw in less than 8 minutes shown related to the density and they choked for a moment trying to answer and dodged it by saying "just don't kill stuff / drag mobs into other rooms". The devs keep reiterating their confidence in what they do, but then speak of their shock when players point out problems they should have caught in development or play test. We're in Season 3, and they've talked about how they want to change every aspect of the game by now. They clearly have no idea what game they're making and are being lead by a leash by the players. This entire PTR is just that, an excuse for them to get told what to do, which is their entire jobs being off-loaded onto the players. I expect the PTR to showcase the disaster the itemisation rework has become and their claims about play testing for weeks and being very happy, will turn into "we should have seen that massive flaw, the players are right, we're unhappy with it too". All they've done from post-launch to present is pay lip service pretending they're radiating confidence and control, but anyone looking at the actions, ignoring hollow words, it's a dumpster fire they don't know how to put out.
I think you hit on part of the main issue: the game has no identity. Yes, it’s an arpg, but it has so many other elements added into it that aren’t well thought out and create a mess. Diablo is not meant to be an open world, live service, mmo like game. You should be able to group but it doesn’t have to be this way. But ultimately, at its core the game just isn’t fun after the campaign. As much as people trash D3 I have more fun playing that right now than I ever did in D4. The gameplay loop for me is more fun, the seasonal themes are more fun even though it’s a simpler game. No need to over complicate it. Just make a good Diablo game and the rest will be fine. This needless cash grab of a game doesn’t need to exist. I’m not paying for the expansion and I may never play this game again. And that makes me sad because I love Diablo and arpgs in general
I belive thats part of finding the right strategie to fight all the mobs, circle around, repsawn them and smash them again. Also i belive you completely missed the point^^
When they stated each season will have a different dev team, it should have been clear that they have no idea what they're doing. Flaw development philosophy in my opinion. D4 is like someone who keeps getting more and more plastic surgery when D2 was already beautiful.
@@georgen5882 Never understood while people keep regurgitating "the campaign is fun" Be real, nothing in D4 is fun, the whole things a boring dreary slog from like level 5 on,.............
Reading parts of the patch notes and playing a dungeon full of backtracking for 8 min. They did that run 3 times. And talking about stuffs they can't talk about.
Kinda agree, lost interest in d4 playing LE. It’s just not fun to play D4 a second time. It was fun the first time but nothing makes me want to come back yet
I'm done with D4 until they shake this team up/throw out the director and begin to start integrating some version of seasonal content into the main game. Besides, Dragons Dogma 2 is coming very soon.
i think your perspective on the urgency of having whatever they have, to implement them as soon as possible is a good take and something i didn't really think about.
Well I've been a diablo player for many years and i tried last epoch 4 days ago. It is so much better then d4 its crazy. Until they figure this out I won't be returning.
I don't know what you guys expected, really. They released half a game for 75£, 3 seasons in and we still don't have any form of gear crafting, no loot filters, no real end game activities (which makes leveling dreadful because they are dragging it on porpoise) , every piece of content looks more like a chore than actually having fun doing, gear stats are all over the place, etc, etc... They keep forgetting the most important part of playing a video game, the "have fun" part. Now they will release a half arsed expansion, charge us another 75£ and we will consume it like morons.
Rax, thanks for the video. I played the hell out of D3 and was really looking forward to D4. I played D4 at launch and have played every season. I have only managed to get 1 Character to level 100 and that was in season 2. The launch, Season 1 and the current season have been so boring to play. It is insane to me that the D4 team can’t take the lessons they learned in D2 and D3 and what POE has done and even LE and try to actually create something amazing. D4 is in a sad state. I am LOVING Last Epoch!
You clearly forgot D3 was a mess till Reaper dropped 😂 took D3 near 2 years to be stable and playable for most 😂 Also Blizzard doesn't care what PoE did , they were never any competition. Poe capped at 300k range players according to company vs millions of copies of D2-D4 . Diablo Immortal hit 50 million players before asia launch . So why would a business follow anything a company with to be polite , joke numbers offer them . Gaming is about the numbers , not what people think. D4 hit 7 million players peak , a massive genre record . Something all their competitors combined haven't achieved.
Again another campfire chat where they announce announcements LOL - they are hanging on by a thread. When POE2 is released in June (only 3months btw) the game is dead. We'll have Last Epoch who will have new updates and content by then, and then of course we don't have explain POE2.
About the "uneven" updates to classes... I think what they meant was... Every class will get 1 unique and 1 legendary... but SOME classes SOMETIMES, MIGHT get more than just 1 unique and legendary... So they were asking, if there is such a class that have those extra legendary and uniques ready, should they deploy them when they are ready.. or wait until other classes also get them.... So every class is always getting something... it's just that some classes might be getting more... Which I'm personally ok with... if it's ready, ship it out. Not everything will always be more powerful.. sometimes it's just a matter of having another way of playing the game.
I think I am done, not with D4 but with the entire Blizzard brand. There's just too much worthy competition that all seem to be heading in a great direction. I don't see the point in paying a company to deliver things that frustrate and bore me, and that insult me with their microtransactions and high base price.
Exactly, to paraphrase Josh Strife Hayes, Blizzard doesn't want to create games, they want to sell processes designed to squeeze money out of their fans. Blizzard is basically the same as one of those games hospice care companies that acquire an existing game, monetize the crap out of it and squeeze everything they can out of the nostalgic and addicted fanbase until the game finally and mercifully dies
The devs don't even looked that excited. It's like they're there because that's their job. They addressed NOTHING, ZERO about what the community wanted for months on Reddit and their very own forum. I watched PoE2 devs steam and you could HEAR and SEE the excitements in their presentations. HUGE difference. It's like the love of D4 left the soul a long time ago. Sad to see what was once one of my favorite games of all times died this way :(
@@th3oristit’s just lacking creative talent now at the company, most of the good ones moved on to other companies so they’re stuck with guys who just clock in and out. It makes no sense that they don’t want to make a good game, better games do lead to better sales over the long term. Bg3 still has an insane amount of current players.
Very true at the end there, D4 needs fun and it needs it now. I probably won't be back for a while but if they are going to keep the player base they have now they need to start giving more fun.
I missed last season and was excited to see what the hype was all about when they release the vamp stuff again, but tbh idk if I care if it’s just a new legendary now lol. Last epoch it is.
One thing I would really like, as more and more gear is introduced and with the imability to put aspects on legendary gear, I often feel jipped out of potential builds. Something cool I think would be a really good carry over is D3's lil extra power slots we got from the cube. Even with this I feel like I could be a little closer to, what was it? "Playing how I want to play"
And Poe's 3.24 league so, they either delay it 2 weeks or the clash between poe and dragons dogma will be too big that they may lose alot of potential players
Speaking from a developer point of view. You're spot on with uneven updates. They can't fit all of it with balancing and all sorts with giving every class something. Take the ones that seem powerful and focus on others. That way they can improve other builds (eg captain America crusader) and that'll also allow easier balancing in the long run without half baked updates
I think I agree with your first point about upgrading legendary powers. I had a druid and I couldn’t find the powers that combined into what I wanted to play. I think I’d rather have a higher chance to find the right powers but at a lower power scale, and then work my way up, rather than hoping I’m actually ever going to be able to “Play my way” Project Diablo 2 introduced some cheap teleport options that had downsides. This was epic: you could get a shitty teleport rather quickly, but enigma is still a huge upgrade
This summary of the campfire chat has basically told me not to come back until season 4 releases assuming they come through with the itemization rework. I'm fine playing Last Epoch for now.
100% agree Rax. I think as long as each class gets something, it's ok for a certain build like Frozen Orb to get a heavy focus. On the subject of more progression systems agree as well. The Vampiric powers gave a great template for player power, and even had a Lore reason that I hope the Devs do more with, that the character was fed some of Lilith's Blood at the beginning of the campaign story.
the uneven updates, the way you explained it, are basically what made diablo3 most fun the last few seasons. instead of always playing your favorite class it gave us something to look forward and be excited about. "ohh, tal rasha meteor is gonna be godly this season, im gonna start with that!" "whaaaaaaat? they buffed pony for crusader and has an autoattack? sign me in!" on the other hand, vampire powers.... as you said, hemo was good for leveling.... but if we get it as a random legendary power we WONT HAVE IT while leveling up, so what's the fkin point? also... i am absolutely dissapointed with the fact that the entire information we got can be resumed in an 8 minute video after months of basically radio silence and we still have absolutely no information about the most important change that will make or break the game, itemization
a bunch of nothing from campfire chat. Still 0 motivation to log in until season 4. High motivation to play Last Epoch now and i anticipate many more months to come, and by then POE2 is out. D4 is as though they are living in their own world with 0 competition. The fun needs to happen NOW.
i'm amazed they didn't bring back hemo. agree that just slapsticking seasonal powers as aspects misses the point, and also agree that waiting is a horrible idea. not sure about the gauntlet, but i never play solo, i play it with the gf, so it's moot.
Just a reminder d4 has 8000 damn ppl working on this trash game and LE has like under 70 and LE is dumping on d4. Just amazes me how a few passionate devs can make a better game than a massive AAA title
With the returning Powers from previous seasons they should make them similar to the Weavers Will items in Last Epoch, where you level them up. You could make ways to level up these items that give you the increased power of them as they did in the season content. That way you bring back the levelling along with giving the player more to do
You hit the nail on the head in the last minute of the video. If they have cool shit, they need to release it now. Waiting is unacceptable with how the state of the game is.
They asked about the feedback coz they said for example, a frozen orb build wont be ok if we only release 1 unique for that sorc build at that patch, so they said that to make it work they are gonna need to make 3-4 new items to be good enough. Its not that they wont release items from the other classes but in some cases a class can have more than 2
At this point Mr Ferguson or whoever leads should be moved or laid off. Completely lack of vision, clueless devs, no way they are going to get up in this condition. Some small studio from Texas is showing them how to run a game. Just wtf is this circus?!
Based on what I see, the people in charge are A) entirely without creativity and B) sub-par gamers IF they are gamers at all. Indie studios are delivering 10x the creativity and innovation than Blizzard. The mere fact that D4 has a handful of builds and still they are unable to balance them is beyond me. Prime example is necromancer. Wanna play minions? Fuck you. In D2 I could have an army of 40+. Above all else, they should prioritize itemization. We still know nothing about it but knowing Blizzard, it's going to suck and cater to the lowest common denominator. Simplistic, uninspired, for people who do not want to think at all. After that, they should take a good hard look on what kind of content they need to deliver for seasons because a shitty pet and a dungeon with traps (lol) won't cut it. I sure as hell am not buying their overpriced cosmetics and/or an expansion if this is the best they can do. Blizzard is being outdone by a handful of people from EHG. Just let that sink in.
what they need to do is just sell the damn IP to a company that can give it the love it deserves. Not that it'll ever happen, these clowns would sooner grind the Diablo name into dust before letting someone else make money from it
I agree. It would be interesting to see whether leaving all the big meaningful changes for the end of the year, the season before the expansion comes. If it's lackluster, it will hurt the expansion sales. If it's good, ultimately it will be bad for the future of the game. Let's see if these season 4 mechanics go the distance
In terms of upgrading/fixing builds, I think they were talking about the idea of each classes getting a unique / legendary every season. The example was if ice shards needs 2 legendaries and a new unique to make it on par with everyone else while the bone spear necro needs nothing, and gets nothing, if that would be ok. Which it would be.
Tried to get into season 3 of D4 but I ended up hitting 100 and quitting. Nothing to do. I just tried Path of Exile and I'm absolutely loving it. I haven't been obsessed with a game like this in a long time. Looking forward to trying LE at some point too.
@@CCSplinters Yeah and I can definitely understand why that is but if they are willing to push past some of the frustrating points and do the research necessary to learn the basics there is an endlessly deep and rewarding game to lose yourself in which is what I'm always looking for.
@@Adam202nah, if I have to be able to write a descertaion about a different currency and path of level I don't wanna be involved lol. Having to watch a 10 minute video to understand how currency works is bad game design
I haven't thought about d4 in a long time. LE has dominated my thought process about games since it came out. Super engaging, every spell matters so much, and there's so much variety.
I clicked on just to see if there was anything interesting and just realized I could not care less about diablo lol thank god for competition in the genre
I personally enjoyed vampiric powers in S2. But what’s the point adding it now ? It’s still the same end game and I’m not interested in repetively doing NM vaults , when I can almost 1 shot everything already , adding vampiric powers now won’t make the game anymore fun ?
Yup , still king of genre by numbers and game still selling well worldwide. Regardless of opinions on any of these games , Success is determined by numbers, in that D4 is way tf out front with nobody coming close (900k LE vs 7 million d4 peak at the height of D4 is bad press) I play D4 and LE and used to play PoE but D4 I easily put in more time 10x at minimum . But even I know the industry is a numbers game only . Nobody actually cares what players think 😂
@@DarkepyonX no doubt Diablo proves the power of marketing though. I tried to pick it back up but it feels like such a bore compared to LE. I def have more time in LE already
the issue with d4 with me is tghatr in late game, there isnt that much progression besides paragon and small item improvements. Not worlking on a system that prodes meaningful engagement, knowing that by doing this you can get that, or do something else to improve another part. last epoch shows that you can do amazing crafting stuff, make your progression path clear but challenging, wth minimal but again, meaningful rng. You can get exceptionally powerfull items just with some nice drops and a bit of luck with crafting, while not making it overly complex. It gives reason to play to get drops and to engage with the endgame systems using those drops to deterministically improve your character. in d4, after you get o100 get all the paragon ponts and get 925 gear, what is there to improve?
I set goals like obtaining a max roll of every aspect and having complete gear for every build in the stash. I understand if that's not incentive enough for most but it's something atleast.
@@kapiteinlulhaas7612 Thats fine but the issue is theres no reason to do that. LE has at least corruption pushing that you can do while also farming said gear. Gauntlet leaderboards i doubt will do that.
The buffs are nice. But that doesn't solve the fundamental issues of the game. I'm gonna play last epoch. Not planning on reinstalling D4 anytime soon unless they somehow make it on par with last epoch which I don't think will ever happen
tbh for me it deosnt matter what or when they release anything for classes, for me the game is done, its one of the richest and biggest companies in gaming and now they are asking if players are fine if they can go home from work early. thats insane, they have to work theyre asses of to get me back, if you fuck up for such a long time, ask for 70 dollars for a unfinished boring game with 0 content, 20 dollars for a seasonpass with 0 value, bring terrible seasons, delay shit for ever you for sure have to work your ass off to make the customer happy again and dont ask if its fine to delay shit again, bring half assed shit or whatever, this is pure insanity to me to even ask taht question.such a bunch of 🤡🤡
The real question when it comes to releasing ready things for some classes. Why are the other classes left behind? These devs get paid for providing live service game but in reality - they are just trying to control the flavor of the day. So basically - They are asking for maybe 2 or 3 classes to get something each season IF and WHEN the devs bother to do their job. This was one of the reason D3 had some issues cause it was obvious the devs had their favorite classes to work on. Is it too much to ask the devs to support their live service game and deliver something for each class every season? It's not like players are asking for each spec to get something new. I think the PTR will be very interesting and it really feels like there are some issues with some classes on there.
Some nice improvements here. But as someone who hasn't quite finished leveling up my Meteor Sorc this season, personally this does nothing to try and pull me back in the game. Gonna try the gauntlet for a bit, but the nerfs to the the seneschal is baffling and there's not much else intriguing. Glad others are getting some nice buffs though I guess.
Yeah that kinda struck me as odd about the season mechanic itself , nerfing..I'm pretty sure it doesn't need any nerfing lmao like wth really..I'm with you on that. I'm not even that excited for gauntlet tbh , most excited for the small but hopefully good minion buffs
Wow I missed that, at season start the pet was a laughingstock so they had to buff it to be relevant at all, now they're nerfing it!? What is happening at Blizzard...
I was hoping they would make the pet permanent somehow. It's a cool way to complement your chars playstyle by speccing it according to what your build is missing.
its extremely puzzling that snapshotting was allowed to be present within the game logic at all, much less up to this point in time. it was a sprawling, multi-year problem in D3 that was slowly recognized by the devs and finally addressed bit by bit over multiple patches as they wrangled in a bunch of spaghetti code. there was no reason for that hard-learned lesson to just...re-occur anew in D4. it reminds me of the inventory/database API call issue that was present, and then fixed, in D3. blizz learned the hard way that you cant code in such lazy shortcuts, and then they just *forgot what they knew* and created the exact same problem in D4. im well aware that legacy D3 devs and D4 devs are different people, teams, managers, due to insane attrition at the company...but that doesnt explain why blizz doesnt have methods or tools in place for broad design documentation and guidelines based on previous bugs/errors. the severe bugs indicate that the grunt devs dont know what theyre doing...the design errors indicate that the managers dont know what theyre doing...is anybody left at blizzard who legitimately cares about diablo anymore?
Exactly right, even if it's different people doing the coding, there are obviously no competent architects and designers at high levels creating and enforcing development standards. This speaks to the culture of the company as a whole, and to the quality of games we can expect Blizzard to produce not just now but into the future. Bereft of creativity and game design talent, what we have left is a rotten husk of a game company that only exists to squeeze every cent from the nostalgic fans that hope in futility that "this time" it'll be like it used to be
Man I haven’t played D4 in months. Doubt I’ll ever go back to it with all of the great games coming out in the near future. Rise of the Ronin, Dragons Dogma 2, Elden Ring DLC, No Rest for the Wicked and the list goes on.
I just assumed that uneven question is just about if Class A is like 2x as good as Class B, are people okay with Class B seeing the majority of changes in subsequent patches rather than making smaller alterations to both. That would certainly align with their balance in WoW where some classes just go completely ignored at times and others receive massive changes just depending on the patch cycle and balance at the time.
The campfire chat was very underwhelming and what made me finally pull the trigger on jumping into Last Epoch. I was really hoping for something to get me excited and want to continue playing this season. I don't care to run a backtracking timed dungeon over and over, with garbage rewards. So, tonight when I get home I will be downloading Last Epoch. I'm more excited now to try it.
I don't play D4, so could someone answer a question for me? Does the seasonal system (vampire powers, robot spider minion) not continue into future seasons? If not, why would they put development time into a system that is essentially getting thrown in the trash every time a new season comes out? Seems like a waste.
No the seasonal systems have so far not continued at all in the base game. What they've done is added one unique ring per class with one of the malignant heart powers from S1, now they're talking about adding a few of the vampire powers from S2 as new legendaries. So we get some of the benefits to power/QoL (and even this is nerfed because in taking up an item slot they push out something else), but don't keep the content or progression system. POE has heist, delve, blight, betrayal, harvest and a dozen more different game modes that not only give you a way to improve your character, but give you a unique gameplay experience and new content and systems to learn. Your comment is exactly on point - it is a huge waste
@@etrosknight2254 Thank you for your response! That really is too bad. As you said, PoE already laid the ground work for a better way of handling seasonal content, and it seems like the Diablo devs either ignored it or thought they knew better. Either way, D4 appears to be worse off because of it.
Casual Andy here: i find PoE is really only for min/max blasters. Hence the dynamic change of pace happening to the highly anticipated PoE2 which looks to be more entry level friendly. LE looks great but they've restricted their success by not launching on at least one other platform. As for D4 it's ease of use, couch coop, pick up friendly play and it being crossplay, crossgen and crosssave, the focus on wide accessibility is exactly carries it. After completing the battle pass, checking off the seasonal journey and hitting lvl 100 with my character I feel as tho my season is "done" after that I move to playing something else for the remainder of the season. I honestly don't see why that's a bad thing tho,I like that D4 gives leeway to enjoying other games. Never cared for the hyperfixation on one particular game to be the end all be all "perfect lootloop arpg". I run 1 class and 1 build per season like I did in D3 and so far the longevity of my enjoyment of D4 is holding up pretty well🤷♂️
Saying they've "restricted their success to one platform" sounds wild because you make it come off like they wanted the game to be only on one platform when this is their very first game and probably chose to work on an easier platform first before going to others, especially with aspirations for wanting online multiplayer.
Nothing is wrong with that. I can completely enjoy D4, PoE, LE (if they make it enjoyable) and a bunch of other games in a 3 months timescale. Of course I do not have 5 min-maxed lvl 100 characters on week 1 of a season and I do not copy-paste mathematically min-maxed builds. Maybe this is the reason I have fun? Anyway, no matter how you express your opinion, if that does not match with the opinion of 10 conditioned person, you are wrong. This is how Internet communities are working :D
Yea that's all well and good but when are they going to play Last Epoch to see what they have missing ? Gauntlets, speed running rifts/dungeons, is that the best they can do ?
LE has been playable for me consistently after the first 3 or 4 days, so things have been getting smoothened out. And if you're not trading or planning to play with friends, you can always just play offline, which is something you can't do in D4 unless you're probably on console or something.
@@joyzmaa That's absolutely fair. I'm honestly excited as to what they'll do because even without as much endgame as PoE, the new additions shockingly became enough for me to get hooked. Then again, I guess it sort of helps that I'm playing a new build, especially at the start of a cycle.
There should be no build defining unique drops exclusively on duriel. No player should be forced to play a vastly weaker version of their class build until they can target farm a level 100 boss. For most players, getting to 100 and beating duriel a handful of times is the end of the season. There is no motivation for most players to keep playing that character past that point. Every non Uber unique assigned to duriel should also drop from a lower target farmable boss. So for example, druid tempest roar should not be exclusively duriel target farming and very low droprate elsewhere. Put it on one of the 2 bosses that are world tier 3 and 4, so players can get a weaker item power version earlier in the season allowing their build to be playable, but also have duriel drop them as a way to get an item power 925 copy later in the season as an exciting upgrade. I would like to see world tier 3 version of all 4 bosses before duriel implemented in the game. I would like progression to look something like: unlock WT3, run ND/helltide/seasonal content to upgrade to sacred gear and start collecting boss summoning materials - target farm WT3 bosses for build enabling unique dops - unlock WT4, run ND/helltide/seasonal content to build ancestral gear set - target farm WT4 bosses to get ancestral replacements for build defining unique drops(around lvl 80) - play your build to get to lvl 100 and level up glyphs - farm world bosses, legion events, duriel, and seasonal boss to get item power 925 ancestral upgrades, and farm duriel and seasonal boss for item power 925 versions of unique drops while hoping for an Uber unique - Uber Lilith and other end game progression system.
Why spend my time and money on mediocrity when I can support more consumer friendly companies; bridged have not been just burnt; the land got incinerated, too. 😂🎉
Here's the blog post: news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/24062308/undying-glory-awaits-in-trials?blzcmp=blizzard-news
How are you feeling about the Gauntlet and coming changes?
I just can't be bothered at this point. D4 needs a serious overhaul. There's nothing they could do in a season that could make it worth the time.
Blizzard can go zuck a duck
100%
@@SponsoredbyPfizerBasically PoE. Socket a jewel and level it up to encompass both the fun of having the power and it becoming stronger.
Raxx yawning at the beginning was so fitting 😂
The team just feels so directionless. I really wanted to see this game turn around, but I’m not very optimistic anymore.
Or not. We'll see.
Sounds to me like you didn't know very much about modern Blizzard if you thought that..
Doing what PoE does and keep large portions of the seasonal content around permanently would give players more and more variety in gameplay and it would keep bringing value to the game, rather than scrapping all of that dev/artist time and not using it at all again.
they did it in diablo III late game. once the later seasons came out, seasonal content just became normal content.
Blizzard watch necro in LE and they realise necro can use minions :)
Maybe by 2025 they will know how to edit their spaghetti code to force minions to focus target.
@@gringoboy701yeah right...... They've never been able to in any blizz game in over a few decades, blizz is dead, only greed compels it.

The problem is I bet the person who wrote the original code is long gone because they weren't paying them enough. Eventually they will solve a bunch of qol but for now their approach is to make every 2 weeks a fking horse that sells for 60 dls.
I agree with your last take. If x and y are ready and don't depend on z, go ahead and deploy x and y.
D4 is like someone who keeps getting more and more plastic surgery when D2 was already beautiful.

wait, what? D4 does not have belts? What were they thinking!?
You clearly forgot D3 was a mess till Reaper dropped 😂 took D3 near 2 years to be stable and playable for most 😂
Also Blizzard doesn't care what PoE did , they were never any competition.
PTR was the highlight of the campfire, speaks volumes for D4’s future
a bare minimum feature that most games have had for over a decade now speaks volumes? dang
They haven’t been listening to feed back anyway this season lol
It was the highlight for me as well since that is the end of my d4 play
Sad to see what was once one of my favorite games of all times died this way :(
They look defeated tbh, they dont have either the creative freedom to do what would be fun or they lack the creative talent that poe and le have.
Cant wait for the game to start getting good at season 30 💀

@@-Wolfheart Im a very casual player too and I was burnt out from D4 before the end of the campaign in S1 tbh.
Took PoE over a dozen leagues to be stable and decent and D2 and D3 took over a year as well . People are either dumb af or clueless
The D4 devs don't understand the "fun" part and this was quite obvious from day 1. Working toward something.
The game is 100% without question DEAD once PoE2 drops. It's not even up in the air, it's objective fact.
Why does it feel there are like 5 devs working on D4? You look at the things PoE and LE do then look at D4 it just feels lacking.
Devs are absolutely lost. D4 needs new leadership. Period.
My Druid's biggest Wolf issue was they die so quickly in difficult end game content it makes them unusable. I don't see a fix for that here...
Very true at the end there, D4 needs fun and it needs it now. I probably won't be back for a while but if they are going to keep the player base they have now they need to start giving more fun.
The yawn at the beginning of the vid really set the tone for the recap😂
One thing that is missing is the entier game...🎉
I missed last season and was excited to see what the hype was all about when they release the vamp stuff again, but tbh idk if I care if it’s just a new legendary now lol. Last epoch it is.
Last season was my favourite, to date. I had a lot of fun .. this season, kinda blows in comparison
You know what else is releasing in March? Dragons Dogma 2.
And Poe's 3.24 league so, they either delay it 2 weeks or the clash between poe and dragons dogma will be too big that they may lose alot of potential players
Yeah Dragon's Dogma is definitely the big hitter of the first quarter
Too bad Helldivers 2 kinda stole the steam from an easy DD2 sweep
🔥🔥🔥
Unicorn Overlord is gonna be the sleeper hit of 2024 and it drops in 5 days
Speaking from a developer point of view. You're spot on with uneven updates. They can't fit all of it with balancing and all sorts with giving every class something. Take the ones that seem powerful and focus on others. That way they can improve other builds (eg captain America crusader) and that'll also allow easier balancing in the long run without half baked updates
The amount of BS on that campfire, was stratospheric, glad I bought LE.
Good to see the 3rd best arpg with the smallest budget and team are trying to keep up with the competition!
They're constantly in a state of putting out fires while simultaneously creating more fires. Diablo 4 is 🔥not in the way you'd think. 😂
I think I agree with your first point about upgrading legendary powers. I had a druid and I couldn’t find the powers that combined into what I wanted to play.
I think I’d rather have a higher chance to find the right powers but at a lower power scale, and then work my way up, rather than hoping I’m actually ever going to be able to “Play my way”
Project Diablo 2 introduced some cheap teleport options that had downsides. This was epic: you could get a shitty teleport rather quickly, but enigma is still a huge upgrade
This summary of the campfire chat has basically told me not to come back until season 4 releases assuming they come through with the itemization rework. I'm fine playing Last Epoch for now.
Totally agree with the leveling of vampire powers. Leveling in general, and finding loot. Is what makes RPGs my favorite game genre period
Kind of got the vibe of why bother come back to S3 and just wait until S4
the uneven updates, the way you explained it, are basically what made diablo3 most fun the last few seasons. instead of always playing your favorite class it gave us something to look forward and be excited about. "ohh, tal rasha meteor is gonna be godly this season, im gonna start with that!" "whaaaaaaat? they buffed pony for crusader and has an autoattack? sign me in!"
on the other hand, vampire powers.... as you said, hemo was good for leveling.... but if we get it as a random legendary power we WONT HAVE IT while leveling up, so what's the fkin point?
also... i am absolutely dissapointed with the fact that the entire information we got can be resumed in an 8 minute video after months of basically radio silence
and we still have absolutely no information about the most important change that will make or break the game, itemization
I 100% agree with your take on “uneven updates”. I am a Barb main, but I feel like if items are release for other classes I may try another class.
a bunch of nothing from campfire chat.
Barb early game is actually mostly relying on generator. You don’t have enough fury gen to spam core till way over level 70.
even at 70 its Generator x4-6 -> HOTA -> Generator x4-6 -> HOTA -> Generator x4-6 -> HOTA -> Generator x4-6 -> HOTA ->
Just a reminder d4 has 8000 damn ppl working on this trash game and LE has like under 70 and LE is dumping on d4. Just amazes me how a few passionate devs can make a better game than a massive AAA title
D4 BAD
With the returning Powers from previous seasons they should make them similar to the Weavers Will items in Last Epoch, where you level them up. You could make ways to level up these items that give you the increased power of them as they did in the season content. That way you bring back the levelling along with giving the player more to do
The only thing missing was Dylan Mulvaney demonstrating the guantlet
So they're not fixing any of the fundamental issues and the game will still be shit. Got it. Thank god for LE.
Still playing catch up with other games in their genre. I'll come back when they caught up. LE and PoE for now.
You hit the nail on the head in the last minute of the video. If they have cool shit, they need to release it now. Waiting is unacceptable with how the state of the game is.
"new age" of employees are so so stupid in Blizzard..........so many milions spend into nothing........
Uninstalling was the best decision I had in 2024.
yea... its not worth 90+ gig
D4 needs new ARPG dev team period. This team still in the past and lack the vision since the release.
what they need to do is just sell the damn IP to a company that can give it the love it deserves.
If Djank Mi'em is in the PTR, then that will be the first content that excites me since early season 1! I would play D4 just to hang out with Djank!
Your yawn to open the video says it all.
Necro needs a lidless wall and bone storm aspect just to stay somewhat alive past nmd70.

I personally enjoyed vampiric powers in S2. But what’s the point adding it now ? It’s still the same end game and I’m not interested in repetively doing NM vaults , when I can almost 1 shot everything already , adding vampiric powers now won’t make the game anymore fun ?
Oh wow is this game still around? Thats crazy!
Yup , still king of genre by numbers and game still selling well worldwide.
Regardless of opinions on any of these games , Success is determined by numbers, in that D4 is way tf out front with nobody coming close (900k LE vs 7 million d4 peak at the height of D4 is bad press)

Appreciate it. Thank you.
The Future of Diablo 4 - there is none
I do hope those devs are playing LE , i mean having each class with at least 3 viable builds on each must be mind blowing and eye opener to them
Yea that's all well and good but when are they going to play Last Epoch to see what they have missing ?
Gauntlets, speed running rifts/dungeons, is that the best they can do ?
Assuming the D4 devs actually play video games, kek
great summary, i’m done with arpgs until next poe season. i hope both d4 and le work out their issues soon.
LE has been playable for me consistently after the first 3 or 4 days, so things have been getting smoothened out. And if you're not trading or planning to play with friends, you can always just play offline, which is something you can't do in D4 unless you're probably on console or something.
@@CADPgamer oh i know; i played a lot of le over the last week. it still needs more endgame tho.
@@joyzmaa That's absolutely fair. I'm honestly excited as to what they'll do because even without as much endgame as PoE, the new additions shockingly became enough for me to get hooked. Then again, I guess it sort of helps that I'm playing a new build, especially at the start of a cycle.
@@CADPgamer consoles can't play D4 offline either
@@etrosknight2254Oof
I would like progression to look something like: unlock WT3, run ND/helltide/seasonal content to upgrade to sacred gear and start collecting boss summoning materials - target farm WT3 bosses for build enabling unique dops - unlock WT4, run ND/helltide/seasonal content to build ancestral gear set - target farm WT4 bosses to get ancestral replacements for build defining unique drops(around lvl 80) - play your build to get to lvl 100 and level up glyphs - farm world bosses, legion events, duriel, and seasonal boss to get item power 925 ancestral upgrades, and farm duriel and seasonal boss for item power 925 versions of unique drops while hoping for an Uber unique - Uber Lilith and other end game progression system.
.... most players dont .... play. The user retention is at zero
When corporate stooges design a game from the ground up to be a slough, you cant expect much.
Crafting needs to made like LE with FP on gear & Loot filter !! This feature is must have in any ARPG now or similar !
Why spend my time and money on mediocrity when I can support more consumer friendly companies; bridged have not been just burnt; the land got incinerated, too. 😂🎉
