UV art at night - with fire! and explosions! - Rocket Knife (Darwin award nomination?)

- Johanna, Henrik, David and Sylvia got a taste for making rocket art. This time it’s at night, and with fire added to the mix! What can possibly go wrong?
In a previous episode we tried making some art splitting spray cans, using normal colors. This time we step it up with fluorescent UV reactive colors. But wait there is more! We had the brilliant idea to ignite the paint fumes, which resulted in a bit more fire than anticipated. They painting dried quickly though. ART IS AN EXPLOSION!
Next time we make more art with new techniques! (and less fire)
Watch the first rocket art being made here: • Rocket Knife - Spray C...
Please don't try this at home (we're what you call insane). SERIOUSLY THIS TIME! Like for real. Don’t!
The video that inspired me to make this adventure: backyard scientist • 150 mph Rocket Knife

You should sell the paintings on Ebay for people to support your channel
ulickkeldroma absolutely. I'd buy one.
he should NOTuse eBay but just his website like go to his website and auction it off Give It 2 weeks to the highest bidder
I was actually expecting a auction of this art work.
I thought the same thing.
better not ebay. there are allways people who think its funny to bid 10000000 $ on such items ... ... not thinking about david who will have to deal with ebay afterwards.. and ebay WILL take 10% fees. sure they return it... but that takes 2-3 weeks.
"WE SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS THROUGH!"
Famous last words.
Kerbal rocket knife. Everything is on fire, I call that a success! XD
Spectacular 🌋
How about RocketSaw ?
Two rockets on a saw to spin it like a pinwheel with a third rocket to send it down the track.
I kept watching it over and over. That lone sparkler flying by its self trying to catch up with the rest as the two sparklers ignite the paint, shooting through a circle of smoke. The effect was awesome on the canvass. Pure art.
4:04 "they dried really quickly" - Well... the fireball may have helped. :D
Normally I find any type of modern art to be garbage, but this, this is Ballistic Art and it is awesome and oh so pretty.
Only your team would run TOWARDS the fire(s). Kudos to the camerawoman for grabbing burning bits of art.
"We should have thought this through!" (Classic!)

Famous last words #786
Best one so far.
We need to see more of Johanna and Sylvia :) That brief glimpse was impressive...such a lovely voice and now with a lovely visage. MORE MORE MORE :)
Oh yeah, ok, nice art too, but pales in comparison :)
1:51 "Everyone keep back from this even after things have happened, don't just run towards it"
2:37 *things happen*
2:39 *everyone immediately runs towards it*
I'd hand one of those pictures in my livingroom, the small ones are extremely beautyful
Am I wrong to enjoy this so much? 😊😊😊😊
GrandadIsAnOldMan hiii I love ur channel
“Don’t run to it as you normally do...” 😂
+Giaco Whatever Johannas comments are gold 🤣
Hahaha, I just love David's priorities and instincts @ 9:45 Step 1: Save the painting, Step 2: Realize there is a huge fire and try to blow on it xD
At least some of us have the correct instincts Henrik.
Shots fired, David... Shots fired..
It's ok I have a bullet proof vest. It's slightly used but it still works as long as the shots hit the left lower third of the torso 😆
I hope you have a fluorecent fire estinguisher
Ohh yeah best episode yet!! That slowmo and the UV art is amazing!
"don't run at it immediately" they run at it immediately to put out the fire.
In years to come these will be the future masterpieces you guys will be worth a fortune when your dead :)
It has been said a thousand times by now but still awesome slowmotion, I would have been satisfied with just a long rail for the led rocket knife to ride along it looked really cool.
Love the 'tracer' in the slow mo! Reminds me of Close Encounters of the third kind.
Dibs on the small purple frame. Excellent composition!
With out any doubt this has to be my favorite one to date, way to go David and team.
Huge thumbs up.
Definitely one of the best slow mo sections yet! But careful David, I still want to meet you someday!
So Cool!!! I want to see more Rocket Art Knife!!!!!
THAT. WAS. EPIC!!!
That's cool for sure. I love the slow motion
Amazing video guys!!!!!!! :) loved it so much
I'm grateful for the video. But also it feels kinda like a "Hey somebody hold my beer," moment. Nothing ever ends peacefully after that statement. Be safe out there folks. You produce too much awesome to lose.
Best Ever Rocket Knife. . . Berk! lol.
Very entertaining David!!!😄
I would so buy the big burnt one! Wife and I both agree that's the one we want for our living room!
ScottishNinja77 I know, right! Read my post about putting a Fluorescent background on the other side, so you can can use a backlight with it.
Oh, cool, the big one looks sort of like Czech flag - white & ed bar with blue triangle on one side!
Liked before i got even a few seconds in! This is just epic!!
+David Windestal -- Please do this one again!!! Only this time:
Have a quadcopter filming from 500 feet (152 meters).
Another GoPro on ground maybe 150 feet (46 meters) away.
A garden hose or halon fire extinguisher.
More UV lighting, much, much more. Throw some of the paint on the wood frame and such before filming.
But please do this again. I had to watch the slow-mo maybe a dozen times. Need to see another!
Sheldon Aubut me too, I need to see that.
It would look awesome to have the slowmo scene with only UV light.
best one yet David :)
No one died - so no Darwin Awards handed out....but a very honourable mention ! Brilliantly funny and destructive - awesomeness !
That was awesome but you need to invest in a fire extinguisher
Take a CO2 model, so you don´t damage anything while using it.
Rocket Knife vs. fire extinguisher!
oh hell yeah, with sparklers.
Hey David Windestal,
Here in America we have a device called a "Fire-Extinguisher" that we have on hand for experiments involving fire.
Non-the-less, that was AWESOME! I Love the art that was produced! I didn't expect such an enormous flame from the explosion.
Keep up with the night video's, they are great!
Namaste.
Wild time!
So nice. It's good to know you're out there doing this important work.
yeah you have stumbled upon something that art work is really exceptional. and when you back lit them and the UV.
it showed up really cool here.
You have, all three of you have created a monster.
And actually it is possible that you are the world's first kinetic art painters.
The best slo-mo yet!
that slo-mo was a work of art
You should put that art in a gallery, they really are spectacular.
Great work and amazing art!
Awesome! Best one so far. I love fire.
This night video reveals that an air vortex follows the blade as it travels down the track. You can see it at about 6:03 on the right-hand side of the video image. If this were shot in daylight, we wouldn't have known this.
Tom Nally Good eye
Now that I think about it, it's very similar to wing tip vortices that you see behind fighter jets.
I suspect that is the classic mushroom cloud vortex created by the expanding gasses, not the knife. (the rocket smoke is not vortexing.)
Still cool though
Best explosion yet!
Going to try this at home!!!!
The Hammer!!! 😨
It should be very hard for you guys, to beat this episode.....! Great!!! 👍 😆
Creates a fireball, promptly puts it out, admires the art, joyfully watches slo-mo
I really enjoyed the part where that dude explained everything right after we were just shown what happened, really cleared it up for me.
I'm really surprised David's beard didn't catch on fire
Even burnt art is still art.
i agree with the commentors.. you should do a 100 more of these over time.. they are gorgeous art pieces..even the burnt ones.. quite lovely... but BE CAEFULLLLLLLLLL
David Windestål, Rocket Knife artist extraordinarie!
thumbs up, nice slowmo
this is awsome one of your best videos! Maybe someone will pay much for the artpieces!
Getting too relaxed, you didn't even have a hosepipe
Genius! Best one yet!!!
Awesome!!!! They all look fantastic but I would love to have the small purple one,
Rick B.aka Plastic butcher
That was the best one yet.
They would look good in any art gallery the fastest paintings in the world born out of fire 😀
Andy Ward Art with a story behind it is always good! A video making it is a conversation starter.
They would look good all arranged together on a wall, including the white canvas.
With the burnt away missing space on the large canvas: mount a knife, rocket, or a salvaged piece of exploded paint-can into the missing space.
best episode
that was art to its fullest sreally inspired your content just gets better thank you
This is why we need HDR displays and cameras as a standard.
I like the picture in picture during the slow-mo
Very cool
rocket-knife vs wine glasses
As someone who once blew up an upright piano 10 meters in the air, using only rope, two AT mines, and three bricks of C4... This isn't even close to winning the award.
you guys are crazy lol
And friction weld!
That is my kind of art!
Put fluorescent sheet with stars on it, and put it on the other side of the wood on the big burnt picture. That would look REALLY good!
Happy new year !!
Dude thats so knarly, looked awsome on slomo.
Been watching since flight test, best thing you've done Dave, that art is...chaos theory, Can I mention Daisy Fletcher's "Into the wild" is art too?? XX
Too Good!!!
Awesome chaos
Do propane tanks next
John22724 with a DJI Phantom 200 ft above taking a picture straight down
Tim Morel Oh man the mushroom fireball will be epic!
love the accent of the girl filming
Nice one David! Will you be auctioning off the paintings, or are the going up in the living room ? :-)
Very special edition FT planes.
layed out flat and arranged around the rocket knife table hung up like that canvas and layed out around there and without the fire.......
paint some FT planes.
Viggen? Cruiser? some of those flat wing things?
legendary!!!!!
awesome
Almost burned down all of that hay :D
I said this on the last art piece video, and I will say it again on this one.
You really, REALLY, need to put this stuff up on Etsy, or EBay, or one of a number of private art selling websites. People will buy this. Heck, *I* would buy this.
Seriously, this is an awesome medium. If a woman can get paid millions for shooting paint out of her butt while spinning on a canvas, surely there is a market for destructive rocket knife art.
🚀🗡️🎨
i want one of this!
"WE SHOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS THROUGH!" hahahahahaha
Epic ....
No flies were harmed in the making of this video !!
Lloyd Prunier Booooooo
lol
Lanch a RC glider with it :D
Love it! And bonus points for a Naruto reference.
And there was me thinking the. Swedes where super safe and sensible 😝
Rocket Knife Super Nova
Somehow, I had a feeling Deidara was behind this :I
cool
