Amen. Child abuse is no joke. I'm 37 year old grown ass man and this song made tears flow. After my childhood I would never put hands on my kids. When your 6 or 7 and you go to sleep and have nightmares of you step dad killing you, it's bad. Beat so bad have to soak in ice water. This shit went on for 7 years. No teacher no familly noticed or cared. All that said I'm amazing father and as bad as shit was from me I made sure my kids would never experience that

One of the reasons I adopted 3 of my Wife's Grandchildren, I had to do what I could to stop the cycle. Best decision I EVER made in my life's journey.

I myself was adopted from a foster home at the age of 6 weeks. And I was never treated any different than my other siblings. We were shown unconditional love. I love you mom and dad.
I cried like a baby when I first heard this song and still get teary eyed when I listen to it.
This was my first exposure to Jesse Howard... the way he sings the word "Place" in the chorus sends chills down my spine. Beautiful song, sad song but it's one lots of people can relate to.

Seeing this on Thanksgiving day a year old. Jesse Howard is straight up great artist. This song is a really sad but a real thing. . I've seen it first hand , breaks my heart that kids go through any pain or abuse. This little boy can't wait to get to heaven. Hope they got the low life that hurt this boy..

Thank you for the reaction. I teach high school, coach high school. Run a church sports league with younger kids, have an 8 and 6 year old. What these kids go through breaks my heart and soul. So many times I wanted to get my ….. and go teach those cowards a lesson, for harming innocent children. I’m so scared one day my life will be over bc what I may do when I catch up to one of these sorry individuals. So sad

Kind of hot tempered myself. I've been following Jesse Howard for a few months I love this song but it brings me to tears every time. Anyone who hurts or abuses women,children,animals,the elderly or anyone weaker than they are is a piece of shit, just sets me off, I won't say what they deserve as far as my brand of justice is on here but it aint nice or pretty. My cousin dropped this on me just today. I wasn't expecting to cry today but after hearing this song... this is almost exactly what happened to my nephew. He wasn't even 2 years old yet and his so called step dad beat him to death. I have tears running down my face typing this. This song just hits hard af.
I keep asking myself why we didn't go get those babies. A week before it all happened, my mom and I talked about going to get her grand babies but we didn't. We felt something was wrong and we waited to late.
I feel like it hits me more because I survived two stepdads that were extremely abusive but my little buddy didn't. Fuck this shit hurts..
I am so thankful my husband, my kids stepdad absolutely loves my kids and would never hurt them. My daughter’s dad was that mean alcoholic and my husband has been so good to her. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I so understood this child the many times I woke in the hospital after the abuse asking why did I live and nobody would help me.
I'm so sorry. In my opinon the nights in bed when your young thinking why don't anyone care are the worst. I don't know your story but for me at least it made me the great father I am today. My mission in life is to make sure my 3 boys never experience the shit I did. But songs like this take me back and definetly just cried.

Regardless of race this hits home for alot of us. Life is not always safe. I like this young man in this song was beat by a step partner. Not the spanking but punched and thrown against walls. He beat my mother and this went on for years. Im the opposite I never laid a hand on my children. Except for hugs in a positive manner. We as people as a hole needs to rise up above all the hate and see that we all have hard times. We must stop all the hate and fear.

It's sad how they take advantage of the little kids who can't even protect themselves and you don't know how that will affect them for their whole life

When I was a little boy 6 years old till I was 14 years old. I was beat every day 8 years of getting beat every day messed me up. I'm 72 years old and just heard this song. Made me cry like a baby.i was always the first to get beat and My 2 baby sisters had to wait their turn and while he was beating me. My baby sisters would be peeing on the floor. I asked and prayed to God to stop the beatings, But they never stopped. For all those years.
Yes girl what you said mental illness is real. I wish people would get help if they have kids and a mental disorder. Abuse is so sad and I agree I don't understand it either. Getting help isn't a bad thing if you're mentally sick.

My mother addicts drugs use hot me lock me up in closet leve thire all night do'feed me until now live with my Foster parents

I to was the lil boy, abused by my family and my hubby showed this song to me cuz he wanted to show me what he to had lived thru, the lil boy and what happened to him, happened to my husband but he survived and I thank God every day he put us together cuz now we have kids and grandkids and they will forever be protected 🙏🙏🙏🙏😭 this is real I'm living proof it is and happens a lot so please don't a way to get out so this don't happen to your baby too 😭🙏🙏🙏
