Again this video isn't about slowing down to conserve energy or prevent injury. It is about the bad habit of slowing down to showboat which ends up preventing the athletes from fulfilling their potential in the long run.

Good points tbh always hate when they do it and you have some who actually stop and call the other runners lol. If they didn’t stop they could have had a faster time 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Interesting Point of View ……
There’s a marked difference between relaxation , shutting down early to conserve energy in rounds and showboating

Yes totally understood. There's that and then consistently shutting it down until it becomes a habit along with consistent showboating and losing out on the opportunity to run a PB or a time that is more representative of the athlete's potential.

I can give the younger ones a pass for it because they train hard so a little showboating isn't that bad

You make it sound as though it is a chronic situation with Jamaican male athletes. The last incident involving a Jamaican MALE sprinter was either Usain Bolt or Jevaughn Minzie (both of which you have showed). 2011. The title of this video is Jamaican MALE sprinters need to stop this...Its embarrassing". It seems this video was posted just yesterday, i.e. October 16, 2022. Bearing in mind the title, I am very surprised that you included young Tebogo. But any way, ABSOLUTELY nothing is wrong with expressing your opinion but it is not as bad as you have made it out to be. This seems more like bashing to me, however that is only my opinion. Our coaches have been instilling different values and attitudes into our young athletes and I cannot tell when was the last time it happened at our Annual Boys and Girls Championships.
