As Johnny Candito will attest, people who high bar squat are morally superior.

Sorry, I switched to high bar and I'm never going back.

I alternate them. I can lift more with the low bar and I feel the squat more in my glutes and hamstrings.
But I prefer the high bar due to the increased range of motion.

High bar squat = Olympic squat. Low bar squat = good morning squat.

Your right, The low bar is a ugly folded over bent over squatmorning like your humping air bent over with a barbell halfway down your back! The only reason why all people lift more with squatmornings is it puts you in a position to do so. it's hips glutes and lowerback dominant while almost leaving out the legs! . This lift does not build lower body leg strength, a developing novice to intermediate that's sqauts a 3 plate lowbar for reps would get pinned under a 2 plate highbar squat, I have seen it! So much for lower body strength! The highbar is much more easy to learn but slower to get stronger on but it's well worth it. Strong legs are very important and a weakness you should not have. Notting beats The highbar back squat and the front squat for leg strength.

Great, quick video! But Chuck Taylors aren't squishy if you remove the insole. You only need squat shoes if you lack the ankle mobility to squat properly. And the lowbar squat doesnt demand much ankle mobility...

Shoes aren’t only for ankle mobility altho ofc they help with that

Always enjoy seeing someone squatting heavy with the weight way up and resting right on the cervical vertebrae.

Addendum: I haven't seen it very often. Maybe twice in the last five years, but don't squat in socks. That's a Darwin award right there.
Lifting shoes will help a bit with butt wink as well.

When you squat, hold your breath like you're going underwater, and you get to breathe again at the top. Somebody once told me, that.

I don't know whether I should cry or laugh at this. You're making weightlifters use low bar for their squats? What.
Sidenote: What's the best Sinclair score one of your weightlifters have hit? Male or female.

Most of these folks are doing good morning back squats. Hard on the back and much less quadriceps involvement.
