This is important so you can study your driving habits and correct the mistake if you see that you are doing it. The go pro should be able to capture a lot of the scenery because it is a wide angle lens so, slighly bending it should not be an issue.
Yes, this chassis used to have a shifter motor. I replaced the motor with a LO2O6, but retained the front brakes. I did remove the brakes when I raced on one of regional kart races in CO.

where did you get the mount for the front of the kart(the first one you talked about)
I remember buying a Neweer 50 in 1 go pro mount kit in Amazon. That kit contains all kinds of mounts especially the one in the video.
