Anyone else notice how Roy is the only character in the anime to have solid black eyes? Or maybe it just looks solid black, either way everyone else seems to have bright eyes but his are the least detailed. I wonder if they did that to make his eyes appear lifeless from the things he witnessed in Ishval. Or maybe it's not that deep and it's just a part of his Xingese characteristics lol.

Eyes like that are the same as those found in combat veterans, they seem cold, but it is not due to what was witnessed. A human can see horrors beyond measure and not develop that look. Those are the eyes of a man who has seen terrible things wrought by his own hand.
Roy Mustang is the type of character who can be completely laid back, not serious, doing whatever he want at times... but then you either piss him off/hurt his precious people/stand between his goal... be ready to see his second face, when he would make sure that there are not even coal left after the fire. Really, one of the most complex characters in the FMA, with good background, who knows what should be done and doing it, even if it means dirtying his own hands. And he's one of the strongest characters in the show with the best count of destroyed homunculus (Lust, Envy, help with Father). All his fights and battle scenes are great. Final moment with Lust Spear vs Flame is one of the best moments in the anime.
Because FMA, unlike most manga and anime, shows both sides of people - even horrible people can once be noble, do good deeds, but still remain the same walking nightmares. And so good people can also have a dark side. Also, don't forget, Roy is a SOLDIER, and has obviously already been through a brutal war and has been TRAINED to kill. Despite all his shock from the realities of war, which greatly affected his psyche and worldview, he remains a military officer and in a serious situation he can act seriously. His current behavior is rather a compensation of the psyche, adaptation to peaceful life after what happened on the war.

I find it criminal that Hughes had to die. He was the most energetic and friendly character. Such a great person. :/ I'm glad Roy was able to have his revenge though
Brotherhood ends the way every fan of every anime wants it to end. All the friends we made along the way to fight in the final battle. It's sweet, its intense and it ends with victory are everyone wins. Why other shows can't do this is beyond me and only a few ever have. But Brotherhood did it so well it's almost criminal.
