So some people have debated over who the Guest is. I have a theory. And it ties to the books and Alpha 1. Okay, some of you might say that Alpha 1 is NOT Canon. But what if Alpha 1 is? My explanation as to how Mr Peterson got out of the Attic in the House of Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1 was that he was never in there. In the prerelease trailer of HN2 Alpha 1, the Neighbor was nowhere to be found and only the Guest was shown, save for Quentin. You may argue that the trailer doesn’t matter and we are focusing on Alpha 1, the real release of Alpha 1. But let’s look at Alpha 1. We see the neighbor being locked up in the attic. But I have a theory: the Neighbor was never there in the attic. It was just a hallucination by Quentin. He saw the Missing Poster of Mr Peterson and thought and/or imagined Mr Peterson in the attic. He also saw the Guest close and lock the attic, which furthermore makes him believe that Mr Peterson was in the attic. This is why we never see the Neighbor ever leave the attic. There is only one entrance and exit. The front door. It is always locked and guarded by the Guest. Meaning that the Neighbor can never leave. Another theory which ties into the previous theory is that the Guest, the person in the Crow Costume, is the Neighbor. The reason being is that, the only characters we see when you enter the attic is you and the Guest. But when you leave the attic and grab the second and smaller Crow Costume you see the Neighbor. The Guest is nowhere to be found. Why? Because the Neighbor is the man in the Crow Costume, the man behind the bird mask and black outfit of a crow. The only person who’d see you is the Guest. He’s the only one who’d see you go into the attic to grab the second Crow Costume. He’s the only one who’d see you exit the attic. So I believe that, when Mr Peterson in the crow costume, saw you enter the attic, he took off his Crow Costume quickly and pulled up his car. Still not convinced? Read the books.
