# but i love it. Its very emotional. The beat right before “but not for me” - its something i’ve never seen pulled off before. One of my favourite interpretations.
I was the touring drummer, the trumpet book was a bitch on this gig , no supporting players. We had Walter White , Wayne Bergeron and Kerry Deadman who are all top notch players tell me the book was a hard blow. My dad was a trumpet player, Motown great Johnny Trudell he said the book was a blow and he was a BULL with chops to spare. There’s your backstory
We carried 5 and picked up 11, 3 strings, guitar 2, trumpet who double flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet. Trombone doubling bass and tenor. 2 saxes with 5 doubles including pic and English horn, percussion with a mallet controller and tons of hand drums. 3 strings, violin viola cello.

Saw this tour!! This has to be the best song out of all of them!!!
I saw this on July 30th ( had no idea it was the second to last show ) and had the blessing of seeing all the 1st National Tour originals. Loved it!
can't believe he's the understudy!!!
I love this. Thank you very much for posting. I can't stop watching it.
chances are, the tour hired local musicians for certain instruments, and the trumpet player didn't practice enough at this stop.

David is good. But Brian owns this role and always will...I mean, he's Brian D'Arcy James
the singing reminds me a lot of brian d'arcy james
Yeah, seriously, that trumpet player must have been having a bad day :-\ but David still sounds great.

2:30-2:39 The trumpet reminds me of the Warner Bros. logo!
@ejeff123 Foley played Papa Ogre on Broadway, with d'Arcy James, so it makes sense.
that trumpet should be thrown off a cliff

AMAZING! Is this for trade?
Wish I can see Eric Peterson sings this song.
Can I trade for this?
Do you have the full show
I have a few pieces, not the whole thing.
JovialFreddy can I give you my email for it
I thought he sounded familar!
I got so caught up in the singing, I didn't notice anything wrong with the trumpeter.. Still haven't.
Why weren't you cast over Eric Petersen?!?!!?
This whole thing is awkward, and you guys are complaining about a trumpet player?
He made one mistake. Sue him.
