    # but i love it. Its very emotional. The beat right before “but not for me” - its something i’ve never seen pulled off before. One of my favourite interpretations.

I saw this on July 30th ( had no idea it was the second to last show ) and had the blessing of seeing all the 1st National Tour originals. Loved it!

chances are, the tour hired local musicians for certain instruments, and the trumpet player didn't practice enough at this stop.

I was the touring drummer, the trumpet book was a bitch on this gig , no supporting players. We had Walter White , Wayne Bergeron and Kerry Deadman who are all top notch players tell me the book was a hard blow. My dad was a trumpet player, Motown great Johnny Trudell he said the book was a blow and he was a BULL with chops to spare. There’s your backstory

We carried 5 and picked up 11, 3 strings, guitar 2, trumpet who double flugelhorn and piccolo trumpet. Trombone doubling bass and tenor.
2 saxes with 5 doubles including pic and English horn, percussion with a mallet controller and tons of hand drums. 3 strings, violin viola cello.

David is good. But Brian owns this role and always will...I mean, he's Brian D'Arcy James
