I love your art series. It is so enlighting and informative and very beautiful. I saw several of Arcimboldo's paintings at the Lourve and was blown away by their complexity and beauty. Lastly, I love that painting of the cat over your shoulder. I felt like its stare would hypnotize me.
Thank you so much! How cool to see them in person, they're so incredibly detailed. We were totally mesmerized by the cat too when we first found the painting, it looks a lot like our Jimmy! 😺
I LOVE this series! Thanks for your great work. 💜 Would you consider doing an episode on the great (and under-recognized) Polish artist and sculptor Stanislav Szukalski (1893-1987)? The Netflix documentary on his life and work was really inspiring.
Excellent video! I just saw my first Vincent van Gogh piece, The Night Café, at the Yale Art Gallery and I was in absolute awe. His impasto technique really caught my eye and the painting looked 3D! Would love to see an episode on Van Gogh and post inpressionism. Thank you for your hard work and I look forward to your future videos.
Thank you so much for another absolutely excellent video, your insight, set, and voice add so much as well! I had never seen the 1563 Archduchess Anna, Queen of Spain portrait, it's very striking to me! I have a big Arcimboldo book and now I can't wait even more to read and look into it
Sometimes I see paintings like this that aren't. Dutch Golden Age still lives in particular. Pareidolia makes me see faces in a Rachel Ruysch flower painting, just for a fleeting second, almost every time.
@Several Circles | Art History I honestly think it's just the brain. The effect is so fleeting it would be near impossible to do on purpose. However, I'm a firm believer in the death of the artist, so for me, they are there whether she put them there or not. I guess ultimately, unless someone x-rays one and sees a pair of eyes staring out underneath the paint, we'll never know.
Which one came first, Arcimboldo or the Indian tradition of composite animal miniature? (The latter spans centuries, I can’t find a reliable estimate).
Good question! It seems as though composite animal paintings became popular during the Mughal period, but that it's a much older tradition dating back centuries before Arcimboldo. Will have to look into it further!
This was a good episode. I didn't know much of anything about Arcimboldo. My one suggestion is the sponsorship. I completely understand that you need to make money, but as a weird little socialist, art as investment freaks me out a little bit. I would pay for an ad-free version. Love you, and love the show!
Your not an artist unless your crazy 😂 I read somewhere that the vegetables symbolism a vegetable state vs an animal state? Almost like the green man also plant like.
Thanks for watching Several Circles! Be sure to subscribe, and please consider a "Super Thanks." We super appreciate your support!✨
Please do a video on your exquisite painting of your pussycat…I beg of you! It’s enchanting.

Thanks for making art accessible to people like me who want to get into it but don't really know how. Very enjoyable.

I honestly love your series someday you should make a video about Tom of Finland or Marina Abramović
Tom of Finland definitely!
I can’t say enough great things about this series!
Thank you!
Finally, i know the artist's name and even a bit of history about him!
I fall in love every time with yours content.... Keep going it, guys!!! 👌♥️👀
Thank you!

Thank you for watching!! ✨
The writing in this episode is fantastic.
Thank you! I can’t resist a pun 🍒
@@TheArtTourist A fruit basket full of puns!
Would love to see James Tissot in a future episode! keep up the fantastic work!
Beautiful suggestion!
I can tell how much fun you had writing the narrative, with all its references to "produce," "harvesting," etc.
I can't resist a pun! 🍒
Wonderful! ❤ Love the artists you choose to make these videos about. Your style and delivery is excellent. Cheers! ❤
Thank you!! We're so thrilled to hear that ✨
Once again, another outstanding job! Love your videos! Thank you so much!

I based my mock art exams on this artist. It was a board of faces in frames and you could spin the entire board round to reveal different faces 😊
That sounds so cool!
Thank you.:)
Great video, subscribed!
Arcimboldo, Shakes, Dee -- what a time to be alive.

Hi! What is the song that plays throughout your videos? It sets a very calming atmosphere.
Just something we came up with. Here’s a link to the music. m.ruclips.net/video/V8Wo4_ZW8aA/видео.html

Interesting! I wonder if that would have been somewhat intentional on Ruysch's part, she hid so much detail in her paintings.

I love the song that is playing in the background. Can anyone give me the name?
We made it ourselves! Here’s the super secret link - ruclips.net/video/V8Wo4_ZW8aA/видео.html
Hello again, could you please make one episode about Peter Paul Rubens?
Thank you.
Great suggestion!!
@@TheArtTourist Thank you ❤ He's one of the greatest, very special for me too.❤

the fruit and vegetable man :)
Very good technically and imaginative
Also, I would love a video on Kinuko Y. Craft, if you would be interested!
We’re probably retiring the channel honestly. Thanks!
@@TheArtTourist oh sorry to hear that, thank you for all the amazing videos you've made in the past then :)
