@@Lveky It does get easier, I've had 7 more since that post. I love them all because I'm a big softie but sometimes it's definitely for the best. You are so absolutely right. I foster also. The hardest part is to say good bye. Our longest was a year and half. And let me tell you it broke my heart saying good by. I stay in touch with a lot of the knew family’s and it totally warms my heart when I see how wonderful they are dong. Just recently I saw our sweet buster that we had for over a year. Tears ran and wiggle butts came out. I was the best feeling I had in a long time. And knowing they are going to great homes makes me realize that there is another fur baby that needs our help. Ant that we can help. Thanks again for all the videos. I wish I had the determination and dedication to do a rescue. That’s a huge dream of mine.
When we foster we pay for the dog food but the rescue that we go through pays for the medical bills. I try to do as much as I can since I know that my husband and I can do it.
Giving up a foster dog has wrecked me for months. I regret giving up my little buddy every day. He sat on my lap and looked at me with so much love and trust as I drove to the shelter for his new owner.
Yes, my last foster was so scared and had no confidence. I worked with her and she really opened up and when she refused to leave my side to go to her new family I felt like I was betraying her. She trusted me! And I walked away. It kept me awake for nights with guilt. She doesn’t understand I left so I could help another dog in need and she was going to love having her own family. I try my best to remind myself I’m doing what’s best and without fosters so many more would never have a chance. But dang it is hard
I know exactly how you feel and she will probably be fine but it's very hard to walk away. But you did a great thing to help her feel safe and see life can be fun vs. terrifying and now you can help others too. We have a super happy sweet foster now who loves us and will probably adapt very fast to a new home and I still feel terrible as I know she won't get it at first.... and I want her adopters to be perfect!
Same. I just left my latest foster this morning, and his little face staring at me walking away took my breath away. I can't get over leaving him behind, but I do know it is for the best and he is going to do amazing with his new family. Soooooo sad, tho!
I’m so glad you’ve spoken about this! The hurt and guilt is so real! Every time I foster I have to have a couple of months off in between just to recover from the guilt and constant crying 🥺
I foster panic dogs and i dont feel any of the guilt you described. I cry for a day and thats it. Never once i wanted to keep a foster of mine. I foster to help as many panic dogs as possible. Nobody else helps them, nobody else want to do the work with them they need to find a forever home. I recently got a second dog because i thought my old boy is slowly reaching the end of his life but we were wrong, he is fine. Now i live with the guilt of not having a foster and i hate it.
I'm new in fostering dogs and I am so happy to know that it is absolutely normal to feel guilty and sad when it's time to let them go! Thanks for sharing!🥰
My foster pup found her forever home today and I am absolutely heartbroken. I’ve always been very attached to dogs and while I know she’s where she was always meant to be, part of me is just devastated she couldn’t be mine and devastated I’ll never see her again. Any tips? I am so so so sad 😭
@@sitaramichell2325 because then she couldnt save and help more dogs. she loved the dog but she knew finding her a different home was the right choice in order to help more dogs
My mom filled out a dog fostering form this morning and I'm super excited to foster dogs. Dogs are kinda expensive cause of their vet bills and long term commitment, but dog fostering eliminates that altogether.
Raise your hand if you're a foster fail 🙋🏼♀️It has been 1 year since Jazz found her forever home (anyone been around here since those days??), and I am having so many feelings about it! 😞
I have a foster fail, but he was with me for about 18 months before I adopted him. He was a lot of work (not socialised with dogs or people!), which other people don't want in a dog already in a foster situation. Before that I had fostered 5 or 6 dogs. Another one of those turned into a foster fail because she had health issues (again, not the kind of dog people want to adopt) and she is the dog who turned my focus to senior dogs. When she died I decided only old/"unadoptable" dogs from then on. I've maxed out at 3 dogs (because I also have a business that involves having dogs stay at my home). I never felt guilty about the foster dogs finding homes because I think adopters will love them and care for them just as well as I could. I've kept in touch with a couple of the adopters and love getting updates on how the dogs are doing. 🐕🐕🐕
I foster failed once, my little chihuahua Prim. I've fostered many dogs I regretted letting go of one dog so badly that when Prim came into my life. I couldn't let her go. I love all of my fosters but they've all found wonderful homes that I feel I'm doing the right thing by letting them so as sad as it is.
@@AmberDanceStep I can totally identify with this! It breaks my heart to let them go, but also makes me feel good knowing I was a part of the story. Also, Prim is the cutest name!!
This should be a video about the actual pros and cons!!! Im pretty sure most reasonable people understand what it means to foster a dog. Clickbait!!!!!! This is about your feeling for the dog you wanted to keep not PROS AND CONS
I’m fostering a cat right now and I’ve had her for about 3 weeks. I’m already attached and I look at her with sadness knowing she trusts me and is at peace with me and it’s not forever. I tried fostering because after my 16 year old dog died a year ago I’ve been a wreck and am not ready for another animal. This cat- she’s difficult because she was abused… but she’s so adorable and sweet. I feel selfish because I almost want to give her back to the rescue to find someone else to foster because I’m already so attached and I can’t deal with heart break. Not sure if I’ll foster again, it’s very hard. I commend you. Thank you for opening up this conversation about guilt. It’s real
I was looking for precisely a video like this as I am full of guilt. My foster dog went to his new family last night, and I can't stop crying. I don't want him to feel like he is in a new home because I didn't want him. I really did want to stay with him, but I have 2 resident dogs that are brats, and their demeanor changed when my foster was present, so I was torn. If this family was to say they can't keep the dog, I would jump at the opportunity of keeping him and figure out a way for my dogs to get used to him. He was a puppy, so I get they were annoyed at times. And as you said, now I have room to foster another dog, but the thought of going through this heartbreak again is dreadful
I've applied to many places: Northern Hope Dog Rescue Society, Elder Dog Society, SPCA, but nowhere am I able to register as a candidate for fostering... I even tried over 10 years ago the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society. I did 3 times the expected volunteer-to-be's work hours. They all judged me out: I can't get a why?
I have 3 dogs a girl and 2 boys. yesterday I found a little pittie. I couldn't keep him and Animal control got him a home yesterday. Same day they picked him up. I'm so happy We fell in love with him. But now I can't stop crying. This is why I would be a foster fail...lol I love them all. I'm so glad I got to meet him
I would like to be a foster but I am so afraid my kiddos will have a hard time letting go. However I also think it’s a good experience to foster a pet. Helping a dog or cat have a home will be also a rewarding experience. Any tips to help children. I will definitely talk to them.
Talk to them about how it is a lot better to shed a few tears and save a life then to be happy and not saving them form euthanasia. Have them know that the dog will have a very happy life with their new home and sometimes the adopters will let you visit. You don’t need to fee guilty, even a few weeks or a few days out of the shelter is amazing to ease off stress
Thank you for posting this video. My colleague suggested to let my 12 year old to foster puppies during summer break. Now I am going to reconsider this idea.
It shouldn’t be a foster fail it should be a success. The goal is for your foster pet to find a loving home, it did find a loving home. Just not where everyone expected.
so glad to hear you'll be starting your own rescue :) I hope it's still on and the plan is going well because, seeing that you live TX, it absolutely breaks my heart to hear how many strays TX has and the amount of abandonment, neglect even abuse, that go on there :-( I follow TAO (Texas Animal organ.) on Facebook and also NY Bully Crew, and NYBC get A TON of rescues from TX in dire conditions :-( Best of luck :)
my foster kitten got adopted today, i’ve had him for 3 months. he came to me on the verge of death, covered in fleas, had so many icky parasites and worms. i actually work at the shelter i foster at, and i got to meet his adopters and essentially coach who i thought was best for him. i know he’s in good hands but i still miss him so much. i’ve fostered 6 other animals before him and this was the hardest one. everyone in my household including my other animals are feeling it.
Actually, the worst part of fostering is not being able to help them. The guilt of not adopting them goes away really fast when the families send you pictures and updates, and you see how happy you’ve made that dog and that family. I’ve fostered 9 dogs so far and that result is rewarding. However, I just lost my last foster after a short health battle. She came from a shelter and had too many issues. And although a short stay, she had stolen our hearts and was truly a good girl. Years of neglect took a toll on her little body. Thinking you were too late is the hardest part of rescue and fostering 😢 but even then there’s a silver lining: they don’t die alone, in the streets or a shelter. They cross the rainbow bridge being cared for and surrounded by warmth and love 🥺💔
I'm feeling really guilty because the dog I rescued and fostered seems really attach to me. However I already have 2 dogs. I'm not sure what to do I only have until the end of the month to decide😭
Indeed its the good-bye that's the hardest. I have fostered pups and kitten, where I couldn't sleep properly because I had to take care of them. I had to make a lot of changes in my behavior to make sure they are ok. But at the end, I dont remember all thar hard work. All I remember how they looked at me, full of love. Sometimes I don't understand, if I foster them or they foster me.
i’m having to let go a foster that was once a stray and walked up to our front door one night (a rescue tagged her). she’s finally getting adopted after 3 weeks of being with me and she’s perfect for me but i already have two other pups and it’s really not going to be realistic financially to add another dog to the family. my heart feels like it’s being ripped out my chest and i haven’t stopped crying for a couple days since i found out. it’s nice to see im not alone.
I look at it as I'm helping my foster build healthy dog skills. I have a chihuahua who is a great example for other dogs, especially scared stressed dogs. He helps them feel more comfortable and get back in touch with what it means to be a dog. I will love my foster dog and I will try my best to give her skills before she goes off to her forever home.
Was thinking about fostering as I miss my fur baby of ten years! Now idk if I can do it, I’d be a mess giving them back I think! I’m a HUGE DOG LOVER!!
Hey!! My family is thinking of fostering. We’ve never owned a dog and I really want one but my parents don’t want to commit to a long time thing so I thought fostering would be perfect! Also I am very bored and have lots of time on my hands. I have one question though for the school I attend we have to complete service hours for non profits which rescue shelters are part of but does fostering count of so how many hours. Thanks!!
I gave my foster to his new home less than 2 days later he was returned to me. When he was, my dog (who is reactive and not good w/dogs) was crying with joy. They were so happy to be together. My husband does not want to keep our foster. I just feel dread. All of us will be so sad and my dog won't have another dog she can play with. It is so hard to disappoint her and I am just dreading the day someone wants him. And I can't seem to find any info on how the owners dogs will react or deal with the loss.
I've too always wanted to foster but my sister put this one question in my head; after the dog finds his/her forever home won't the dog feel betrayed and sad too? It's bc of this question that has me holding back from fostering.
I totally get you but fostering reallh does save lives and your volunteering and doing great from home its great i have been fostering for yers now . Its sad but necessary and its for them 🐶🙏🏻
How long did the dog take to fall in love with you? If he or she goes to a new loving family it will take about that long again. Dogs are resilient. Love is all they need.
You have to keep in mind that without fosters, a lot of shelters/rescues wouldn't be able to take on the amount of animals that they do. If shelters can't take on more animals, the ones that get found get euthinized or left on the streets to brave the elements, fend for themselves and do not receive much needed medical care. As a foster, you have the power to so easily prevent all that. An animal may be a bit confused or upset when it's time to give them up but it's nothing compared to a lifetime of suffering or death. It's such an easy thing to decide to foster when you ask yourself if it's better to be a bit sad in the end when you've saved an animals life and now you have to let them go or would you rather be sad because you know you could have given an animal a second chance at life but you didn't. You are their last hope. Turn their hope into reality.
I have 2 dogs currently because my other 2 died sadly but I'm gonna foster a 4-year-old puppy/dog Who is really cute and it's gonna be kinda hard because I've never done it so do you have any recommendations or tips?
I have fostered cats before but never dogs. I am fostering a dog (who i wanted to adopt) who is a year old and she is breaking/chewing everything. My notebook charger(almoast broke it and thankfully didn’t got electrocuted) , my flipflops, the cable of my headphones, my bruxism protector, a marker. I truly want to adopt her but i am scared that when the quarantine ends and we are not home she will bite on everything. she has only been a month with us.
Try chewy rawhides. Feeding your dog raw steak and chicken will certainly help satisfy their urge to chew. Check out the raw food videos before doing it though.
My foster dog is getting adopted I’ve spent an hour and I am still balling my eyes out I loved her so much my mom even said she would’ve adopted her if my brother didn’t alwYs complain
i am now fostering a kitten for SPCA for a week. I feel so bad when i know i will let her go one month later. I try not to have any bonding with the kitten but he seems to follow me around when i let him go out from the cage. i really feel guilty not to keep her but i can't. should i be foster parent again after this?! so hard to decide
I'm fostering two dogs and they arrive tomorrow. One is a parson jack Russell and the other is a Bernese mountain dog. They used to live together and had to be refined because their owner had a stroke and couldn't take care of them. I'm scared because my last two dogs where a Bernese and a parson jack!! It's pure fluke that these guys are the same breeds as my dearly departed best friends. I'm scared I'm going to fall in love so hard not be able to let them go. They are both older dogs with health conditions which I'm fine with and I'm experienced in both breeds. I also have 7 years professional experience working with challenging animals and working for the RSPCA. Wish me luck 🤣
Thank you for ever you I'm thinking about fostering Animals I am a foster parent so having them for a little while and then given them up on be a problem for me because I already do that with the little humans lol I am a little bit scared but I think I will work my way up thank you so much it was so helpful to hear from someone that already has Experian on it if you have any tips please feel free to let me know
I currently live on my own and lockdown has certainly been challenging. We might be on the cusp of socialising again once these vaccines are out etc, but that would mean I might need to start travelling more around the UK for work which could result in overnight stays. I am trying to decide if fostering is right for me and wondered if you had any advice?
I plan on relocating to Florida. I don’t know anyone there and in 2 years I plan on being a traveling nurse so I can’t commit to having a dog. I have experience in grooming and I think fostering a dog would be a good fit for me.
Do they give you notice when the foster is going to be Adopted? Will they give you the opportunity to adopt the dog first if you fall in love and decide you want to keep it or do they just take it away?
A friend once told me that you're ready to adopt another dog when you stop wishing that it was your previous dog. I liked that piece of advice. I do think that fostering can be a nice way to help you grieve, while also helping more dogs
My family is looking to start fostering dogs (we wish we could with cat but my dads allergic) but it would be in a couple of years because we have two dogs (a bulldog and a mutt) but one of them is going to be living with my brother once he gets an actual house so do you have any tips on what to do to prepare your dog to have another dog at the house for a period of time?
I can understand falling in love with a foster dog and wanting to keep the baby. I have pussycats. And yes they don't know they're cats. They didn't get the email. But there's a deep bond because I'm an excellent pussycat taker carer person ... I understand when you love something so much you don't wanna let it go. But it's like in music. Bear with me. I was watching an interview with Tom Petty the other day... (RIP Tom.). It was from the early 2000s and he was asked if he got tired of singing a lot of his older songs to people -- since he's been writing with his band since the 70s. And he has a lot of great music. And he said that he alaways adds A few new songs from an upcoming album mixed with a lot of the old ones. He doesn't want to be a tribute band of his own stuff. Which I can understand. But when the band hits the first couple of notes in a older song & the audience knows it instantly a d it's just what they wanted to hear the place explodes into smiles and laughter and singing along. along, it gives him total joy. And the correlation is people that foster are very special people. You are not trying to re-create the pet you have lost You can see that each doggie or kitty cat that comes into your life is the right one at the right moment for your care. And with your experience over the years with your pet, you can now give this new little one a fighting chance to be with a family for a long time that might not have had the skill level right then to properly take care of that pet. It takes time to learn how to handle pets correctly. It's not just reading a book and doing XYZ. It's reading between the lines. It's learning the disposition of the pet when it's afraid, when it's happy, when it's gushing with joy. Why it's tingling on the floor. Lordy there's just 1 million things. You see and address more health issues in senior pets.. Like in us. Ha ha. But I think the joy of watching a family who comes in .. whether it's just two guys or a mom and her son or whatever and they meet this pet for the first time and there's this click that you see in human and pet. Well, it's true joy. We have to remember that we don't pick our pets. Our pets pick us. And as they drive away and you feel a kind of emptiness, you can always put on an old Tom Petty record and listen to the lyrics that he wrote 30 years ago that still moves you to tears now as you reminisce about your old pet and what joy that baby gave to you. And how even now you have done a good thing for someone else?..and the next day yiu go out to the shelter and say 'I'd like to foster another baby. I'm ready to rock 'n' roll. I have the gift and I want to share it to give another family joy.' At least in my weird way, that's how I see it. I offer you a blessed Easter. on this Good Friday. Be safe. We need you. Im fostering my first puppy and I’m absolutely in love with him. He’s meeting his adopters who are first time dog owners. Im so worried he won’t be a good fit for them and they’ll end up giving him up which would break my heart into pieces. I can’t adopt him bc it wouldn’t be fair to the adopters/I have to foster 3 times with this specific rescue to “foster fail” any advice on how to deal with this very difficult situation?
I signed up to be a foster in hopes that I will keep the dog. So are you saying that you have to foster at least 3 times to have the opportunity to keep them??
HEEEELP! I have been fostering a mama for 5 weeks already. She has failed two adoption reunions due to her attachment to me. She is overprotective and can get aggressive with other dogs. Last night the foster pup was on my lap, I took a toy and put it in between a 5lbs chichuahua and the foster one and the chihuahua just jumped on her face causing her anger, and chewed her head!! My foster pup bit her head and left a little hole. We had to take the little one to the vet, $650! I felt so bad that I paid for it all. My foster pup has bonded with me in a way that I can't believe but she has a horrible way of reacting with some dogs. It's so weird because she really gets along with my own dog, who acts like a BH and treats the foster dog horribly. The foster one never fought back at her, but the 5lbs chichuahua!! Now I'm gonna feel horrible about returning her because time is out, we are traveling next week and couldn't find a fam for her.
Please tell me if ...We have been approved in becoming foster parents, and since I work from home and need quiet ....I asked that we have a lower energy dog, This is too much for the foster people. They send me a picture of a puppy, I was reluctant. Then they sent another and are very push with a high energy breed.. They have tons of dogs and I a probably a match for half of them.. I am getting guilt from them. The wont tell me any information or ba traits... just that they are vetted and get along with other dogs. We are not looking for the perfect dog, I would even take dogs with medical condition. But half the dogs out there can be uber high energy... and highly reactive. Indoor Barking, is not good for doing meetings at home that must be recorded. .Also we have a horse rescue next doog, and a high reactive dog would go chase them. I can work 6 hours a day, but take a half hour outdoor play break for my mellow dog. I feel terrible, that they do not like our no's . I already requested over 7 dogs from them, but they want to give me the others. Guilt from the rescue center. I is killing me before I start. Don't care, what the dog looks like. Will even care for sick or traumatized dogs. Just a lower energy personality.
OH my Gosh I feel SO guilty. I have 2 perfect and beautiful, sweet adorable puppies 6 weeks old. I took them to the store and everyone loved them, wanted to pet them just fell in love with them. I've had them for 2 weeks, and it is a full time job of feeding and cleaning up poop. I am doing home cooking for them because they are only 6 weeks. It is a constant balancing act of what to feed them. and yes - it is expensive. I had to buy pee pads because the shelter is so far from where I live. They had just gotten off milk and it seemed like the kibble was just too course and heavy for these little guys. In the end....its quite a job. In some ways, I can't wait to have my life back so I can clean my house and take care of other business. They can't go outside because they eat rocks, and sticks - and ANYTHING! So I was sequestered in my house - loosing my mind. I bought a couple of harnesses and leads and was beginning to take them on walks just around my cul de sad in a circle and back. They seemed to really enjoy getting away from the monotony and monotony is was. But I have to remember that what seems dull to me, is ok and good for new babies - security in new surroundings, for that matter - in the world - just existing. I feel so horrible to send them back to concrete floors that are sprayed out and left wet - with nothing to lay on. I'm packing up my thick yoga mat and all their toys, but I'm not sure they'll be allowed to have them.. They are brother Rottweilers. One is albino with a spot and half black face - really pink skin. SO CUTE!! But I just don't have the time and attention they deserve. I pray and prayed for them, that they will find an amazingly loving home with a stay at home caretaker that can give them full time attention that babies need. YEP, the guilt is real! You're right. I'll probably never do it again. Too much! Too hard physically and emotionally. A big chore. It's so sad how much animals suffer. I worry, but I have to put it in God's hands that they will find the perfect family and hopefully stay together. They really need and depend on one another. Such love!
The hardest part is easy: giving them up! Same reason I don't believe in fostering human children either. My attachment style wasn't set up for fostering 😊
I went to try and foster but they told me I’d be responsible for the dog’s adoption and the shelter wouldn’t help out. The would only provide vet care and food. And I was like but I don’t have anyone to show this dog to, i wouldn’t even know where to promote this dog. So they denied my help even though they had it on the news that shelters are running out of space and were going to euthanize. So I truly don’t understand the foster system works. I can volunteer care and a home in the meantime but if I don’t have good social media skills to find an owner I can’t help out!?
I can't be sure since she was a rescue. She looks a bit like a pomeranian, but she's also got a classic street dog style. Secretly I always thought she was part fox, but I think that's all in my head lol
I love dogs. I am also intrested in this job. Actually I am from India and I want to come Canada its my dream. And I will change my dream into reaility soon. Yor are great I seriously like your videos . They are awosem. 👍
If someone wants to adopt the dog your fostering, how does that play out? Do they take dog directly from you? There is nothing explaining this anywhere.
I’ve never adopted cause I was too afraid to see the animal die so I guessed that giving away the animal to a family that genuinely loves him\her would be better
@@sarah8579 omg. So weird you are replying to this now. I wrote this comment 6 months ago. I ended up foster failing and adopting. Friday she was hit by a car, she has a broken front leg and finding a veterinarian is so expensive. America's medical care is retarded, for humans or animals. Because of how expensive it is, I have to wait to get her treatment because A. I have to get multiple quotes since vets will try to sell you the most expensive treatment option or are too lazy to do it the old fashioned way which is resetting the bone. And B. I have to wait to get accepted to a city program that helps pay for vet bills since they are so ridiculously priced.
@Princess Collection💕 (this is my other account, my college email account is getting closed so I'm using this one now) She's doing great! She made a full recovery a long time ago and is back to running and playing. Thanks for the check up lol. It's been a wild ride from when I first commented lol
my family will be fostering a dog, and let me say, I really want to be a foster fail so I can adopt the dog. It depends on what dog I getting, but yeah.
If you are thinking about fostering if not through the shelter. #1- KNOW THE RESCUE CO. Know who they are, what contracts they offer, how long they have been in business, and what exactly do they expect of you. BE VERY CLEAR and talk to others first.. Will they give you a voucher for your vet, or do you have to travel across town to their vet? Do they allow you to see the vet and talk to the vet about your concerns? Private rescues work hard only to fold quickly and leave the dogs to fosters. Otherwise - everything is above board when you foster through a city shelter. It's a better bet, and it's legal; just be sure to know there is NO FEDERAL LAW regarding rescuing dogs and cats. The foster does 95% of the work, and they are not protected from the many nefarious rescues with power-hungry weirdos. Everyone thinks they can place animals quickly but not in this climate. 2024 -- Supply and demand, it's outrageous to think they can turn a profit. What kind of business model do they even think they have? They don't and the expense ends up in your lap. I wonder how rescues can think they can feed 10-20 dogs and place them when the shelters are at 200% capacity with healthy, beautiful dogs. Again, beware with the private rescues.
So... who is fostering OLD dogs, who need care and help? Nobody, that's who. The pet fostering system was set up with good intentions, but it just treats dogs like commodities and pairs dogs with people who aren't ready to be dog owners. Imagine if you treated children like this? Oh wait. We do have a foster care system that has a tough time producing emotionally well-adjusted adults. Americans have bought too many pets, and bred too many domestic, no-farm animals and, now, we're using these little measures like pet fostering to try and stave off the ecological disaster these dog and cat populations are creating.
I wouldn't recommend adopting a pet you don't know their passed back ground and what they will turn out to be they may have been abused and neglected. You also don't know the age of the dog either which you can get a very old one and not know which won't last long.Better to get one from a reputable breeder and raise and train it form a puppy that way you know he or she won't be aggressive towards you other people and other dogs if you expose them around other dogs and people at a young age.
I cried for several days after I brought back of my foster dog. You fall in love with them, then they fall in love with you back. But to love is to risk losing it. And to know, their happiness continues with their new adopters

Heartbreaking! I feel the same...it's been over a year since she's been gone and it feels like a part of me is gone too
@@InRuffCompany ... I surrendered my love dog in January and I'm broken hearted to this day.
💔
A year later... I'm still not over it.
@@dougn2350 Then, why did you give him up?
Soooooo sad, tho!
im fostering right now and she has alot of health problems so i feel like i couldnt give her up after shes healthy again.......
how is it going? did you get her? did she get adoped? any updates?
I’m almost 16 and love animals I wish to foster animals when I’m on my own.
Why didnt you just keep and adopt the dog?
@@sitaramichell2325 because then she couldnt save and help more dogs. she loved the dog but she knew finding her a different home was the right choice in order to help more dogs
my dog just left this morning it was hard to let go and i can’t stop crying. i feel heartbroken.
My mom filled out a dog fostering form this morning and I'm super excited to foster dogs. Dogs are kinda expensive cause of their vet bills and long term commitment, but dog fostering eliminates that altogether.
Any updates??
Thank you for the cons. You’ve helped me. I’m wanting to foster a dog.
I really would love to try fostering but I get so easily attached :,)

I'm so glad I got to meet him
Thanks for voicing this ! 😇
Yes you nailed it. The guilt 🥺😭
I have a few foster fails lol sometimes you just know !! Like I get this overwhelming feeling knowing they aren’t meant to be with us !!
Thank you for the PROS and CONS.
My foster just went to her new home today and it was so hard to say goodbye
so glad to hear you'll be starting your own rescue :) I hope it's still on and the plan is going well because, seeing that you live TX, it absolutely breaks my heart to hear how many strays TX has and the amount of abandonment, neglect even abuse, that go on there :-( I follow TAO (Texas Animal organ.) on Facebook and also NY Bully Crew, and NYBC get A TON of rescues from TX in dire conditions :-( Best of luck :)
my foster kitten got adopted today, i’ve had him for 3 months. he came to me on the verge of death, covered in fleas, had so many icky parasites and worms. i actually work at the shelter i foster at, and i got to meet his adopters and essentially coach who i thought was best for him. i know he’s in good hands but i still miss him so much. i’ve fostered 6 other animals before him and this was the hardest one. everyone in my household including my other animals are feeling it.
Thank you for this, I'm considering fostering senior dogs in the future but don't have the financial support, this would work great for me
Indeed its the good-bye that's the hardest.
Thanks
Perhaps at first but dogs forgive easily and when they settle in their forever homes they’ll probably learn to love it
I totally get you but fostering reallh does save lives and your volunteering and doing great from home its great i have been fostering for yers now .
Thank you for the information... I am going to pass fostering it...
Great writing and content.
Is there a website I can post my foster dog on
i am now fostering a kitten for SPCA for a week. I feel so bad when i know i will let her go one month later. I try not to have any bonding with the kitten but he seems to follow me around when i let him go out from the cage. i really feel guilty not to keep her but i can't. should i be foster parent again after this?! so hard to decide
I was going to do it (after my own dog of 12 years had to be put to sleep) but now I'm not sure fostering is the way to go. 🤔
What type of dog was Jazz? My dog looks exactly like her and I have no idea what breed she is! I found her a year ago!
Ohhhhh sooooo complicated extreme.
Currently in their neighbourhood people's tents huddle in the nature strip.
Will they give you the opportunity to adopt the dog first if you fall in love and decide you want to keep it or do they just take it away?
is this a good idea for someone grieving the loss of a pet or no? i miss the experience but feel too guilty adopting because it feels like "replacing"
I have 3 foster cats going this weekend I'm definitely feeling guilty 😔
I have the gift and I want to share it to give another family joy.'
At least in my weird way, that's how I see it. I offer you a blessed Easter. on this Good Friday. Be safe. We need you. Gail in Central Florida Friday, April 15, 2022 🙀🙀🙀😎🙀🙀
So are you saying that you have to foster at least 3 times to have the opportunity to keep them??
thank you so much for this
Such love!
you should love every dog the same regardless
You're going to start a dog rescue? I too, as soon as I finish my bachelor degree in December, am pointing to start a dog/animal rescue :)
I can volunteer care and a home in the meantime but if I don’t have good social media skills to find an owner I can’t help out!?
what breed is jazz?
I'm so close to foster failing right now.
Did you end up adopting the dog?
@@jordanwilliams2024 how is the animal now. i hope y’all are okay :( sad she got hit by a car…
@Princess Collection💕 (this is my other account, my college email account is getting closed so I'm using this one now)
She's doing great!
I have always fostered cats but my family is about to start with dogs
Saying goodbye probably will be the saddest thing, but well at least if they find their forever family.
"You personally cannot adopt every single dog"
Me: Challenge accepted
Ive never seen your videos before but you look like a young Alicia Silverstone
So... who is fostering OLD dogs, who need care and help?
