    However, with the new Lexus TX, I'm not sure if Audi really has an advantage in this segment anymore.

      Tbh the Q7 still feels modern after all these years. Dysfunctional 3rd row and relatively poor cargo space are not serving Audi well though so they should work on that. Also tbh I’m not a fan of how the Q7 looks on the outside but that’s also just personal preference.

    I have the new 2024 Q7 and I'm a long time Audi owner - I've had 3x now where I drove a short distance, not at high speeds or any crazy weather and the turbo fans up front run for like 5 min after you have turned off the car. I've seen this before with my older 2015 Audi but this is new for me on the new 2024. Is it the turbo fans or is it something else? Air is coming out the front and it runs for about 2-5 minutes. I've driving the car about 10 times. Was trying to find some info online before I call them.

    • @sroosh.behzadi
      @sroosh.behzadi 2 месяца назад

      It might be an extra protection for the turbos. Usually, after a trip, you should let the car idle for a minute or two. But this might be an easier war to protect the turbos by running oil through it and cooling it down 🤷‍♂️

    • @CarGeek360
      @CarGeek360 6 месяцев назад

      @@RJ-xj3ct I'd have to disagree. I'd say the Q7 without air suspension rides similar to a normal MDX (they handle similar too) and I doubt air suspension will make a substantial difference (though it will make a difference). The Q7 cabin is definitely slightly quieter relative to the MDX one but honestly the difference is not much at all (both are extremely quiet). Tbh I like the GLE the most of the bunch (just not the 4 cylinder one) but unfortunately it's the most problematic one of the group. Q7 also has a dysfunctional 3rd row, tiny trunk, and I do not like the exterior at all. Atp if one was looking at a Q7 they are FAR better off spending a little more and getting a Q8. Much better looking vehicle and sportier too.

    • @CarGeek360
      @CarGeek360 6 месяцев назад

      My personal pick would honestly either be a BMW X5 or Audi Q8 as those are better looking vehicles and sportier but if I was looking for something more practical I would go Acura MDX or even hybrid Lexus TX.

    • @RJ-xj3ct
      @RJ-xj3ct 6 месяцев назад

      @@CarGeek360 While I do agree with some points cheaper cars simply don't carry the same solidity of the Q7. Q7 and Q8 are also identical in pretty much every way so they are going to drive pretty much the same. Like any car in the class the 3rd row is just for a pinch not meant to be used regularly. For regular use you should look at full size suvs. Trunk is also not tiny lmfao its adequate for the class. Also a well equipped q7 is around 75-80k. A q8 starts at that price and has less room and utility so I don't see why you should get one another than aesthetic reasons.
      Where the Q7 really shines IMO is just its composure. Bumps are isolated and vibrations don't carry its way into the cabin. Road noise is almost non-existant and the high speed stability is so good. Its a tank. The rear steer is also a good option. I think the q Is lackluster if not speced correctly but if you do spend the extra dime and throw on the options its just as good if not better than its competition in most regards. Better ride than GLE, GLS(not 580 variants),, x5, mdx, volvo xc90(this car is a mess).

As to this model...she needs a major refresh in styling, definitely more fuel efficient and more performance, not impressed anymore vs the competition. I’d avoid the Type-S MDX though if you’re often on bad roads as those have low-profile tires that go flat easily but if you’re primarily on good quality roads then the MDX Type-S is a fabulous one.

Now we are very happy with our new Acura and my mom loves driving it. Only reason we didn’t get a Type-S Advance is bc those have low-profile tires that go flat easily and we drive on many bad roads. Q7 also had a dysfunctional 3rd row and cargo space was not so good ngl.

      I rly like the MDX Type-S but those low-profile tires will go flat easily on whack roads. My personal recommendations in this segment would be a CX90, normal MDX, TX, and X7 depending on what you want. GLS is amazing too but sadly hella unreliable.

      @@naveenthemachine why do you hate the TX so much? I’m just curious tbh.

    • @naveenthemachine
      @naveenthemachine 6 месяцев назад +3

      @@CarGeek360 because it’s not very good. Everything’s wrong with it. It came 5-10 years too late yet they still screwed it up badly
      The exterior is not attractive vs . Even a telluride or palisade look better. The interior is a mess tbh. It’s the worst in the class. Instead of using proper luxury car materials like a leather dashboard, full leather doors, leather airbag cover, lots of wood and metal trim, they use the same Toyota grade injection molded plastics from a rav4, no wood trim in any version and lots of hard plastics. Basically the easiest way to say this is that if you look at the TX and then look at just about any other suv like the telluride prestige or palisade calligraphy cx90 premium, MDX, aviator, x5, x7, q7, GLE GLS, XT6, gv80, QX60, grand Cherokee summit and summit reserve, xc90, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
      As for tech, it’s still dated while simultaneously completely useless. For starts nobody ever asked for electronic door handles. Nobody ever asked for the steering wheel touchpad heads up display combo. Nobody ever asked for the complete eradication of physical controls. And the infotainment still lags behind the competition. A 20k Kia Hyundai product have a better infotainment system. Think about that. If that wasn’t enough, the 12.3in gauge cluster is not customizable vs the competition. And also it’s not standard. A 7in mid that’s ripped right off a corolla is standard
      And it lacks so many features compared to the competition such as a double wishbone front suspension, air suspension, massaging seats, passenger seat memory, 4 zone climate control, ottomans in the 2nd row, power rear seats, removable middle seat, heated 3rd row seats, or as a bonus, ventilated 3rd row seats
      Don’t even get me started on the powertrains. I do like the fact that there are 3 choices. Unfortunately none of them are impressive to begin with. The TX350 uses the same 2.4T I4 as a highlander LE. And it’s very slow 0-60 at over 8 seconds so it’s as fast as a corolla. Literally any other suv it competes with is faster. Forget the Germans. A base telluride palisade pilot or base MDX or base grand Cherokee are significantly faster. Even the already mediocre xt6 is faster. The TX500h “F Sport Performance” (yeah right 🙄) isn’t even faster than those mainstream SUVs. It’s not even faster than a base ford Explorer w the 2.3 ecoboost 4. And it’s still significantly slower than a base aviator, Explorer ST, base x7, GLS, Q7. And it’s still slower than the MDX type S, gv80 3.5T, Durango RT yet the TX has more power and more instant torque from the electric motors. Then the TX550h+. I like the fact that it uses a v6. But the problem is that not only is it still slow, but it also means getting a naturally aspirated v6 in general in the TX will be significantly more expensive than getting a naturally aspirated v6 in just about anything else. And the ev range isn’t all that good. It’s less than the xc90, and now the x5 PHEV.
      Driving experience and handling performance fall behind just about any of its competitors both luxury and even mainstream. It doesn’t ride as well as the competition with air suspensions. If you don’t care about acceleration or handling you should just buy a corolla instead. If a luxury car reminds you of a sub 30k economy car in terms of its underpinnings then it’s not a luxury car.
      And finally the TX is overpriced. It starts at 55K. So it’s more expensive than the MDX, xc90, aviator or those top end mainstream SUVs. And the 500h costs 70L, so it’s expensive as the MDX type S but nowhere near as competitive as the Acura. And the 550h+ will likely cost over 80k maybe even 90-100k and you still get a vehicle that’s based on a Toyota Camry platform. Nothing luxury about that.

      X7 is def the benchmark of 3-row luxury SUVs (especially the V8 ones but even the 40i) for the most part but the legroom is very disappointing. The Q7 is hideous & not enjoyable to drive. Not to mention it’s completely overpriced & you pay a bunch of $ for features that do not matter at all & are completely unnecessary. I do not need a computer in my car, I already have an overly fancy phone computer I can use GPS w/in any car I’m ever in. Ugh. I can’t stand fancy upgraded cars these days. Most makes are all hideous & have way too much that’s entirely unnecessary & harder to work on. I’d much rather pay for a robust car you can actually work on yourself & not be so flashy & overpriced, not to mention these cars don’t hold their value whatsoever so if you get one, don’t expect to get much of anything back. This is a stupid investment. Unless you just have $ to burn & like ugly rides that don’t give great drives.. don’t buy this. Buy a used, basic car & you’ll be much better off in the long run. Or a van, which actually has awesome features in it designed for carrying multiple passengers rather than this one, which does not. Neither does it have good, practical cargo space. If you are tall or larger, don’t bother w/this car either bc in the case of an accident your legs & lower body stands no chance whatsoever. It doesn’t matter how great it does in safety tests when there’s NO leg room for taller people. This car is not my personal preference, if you couldn’t tell. 🤣 to me, we are going backwards w/cars just like w/people in society at large. We are regressing, not progressing. All dressed up on the outside & flashy for the world but w/no real substance to speak of & terrible to have to deal with; despite appearances. I long for the days of the muscle cars, when things were more simple, reliable, could be worked on & were beautiful to behold.
