And the Warning did that VERY well! P.S.- This cover got a UNANIMOUS 2 Thumbs from Metallica. AND, this cover was put as the Opening song on Metallica's "Blacklist" Album
Metallica approached Alessia Cara about doing a song for the Black List album. The Warning were suggested by their mutual international agent in Canada to Alessia to collaborate on a cover. The Warning along with music producer Matt Squire rearranged the song to be a creepy lullaby and to accommodate Alessia's pop vocal style. The rest is history.

A sensational and immersive homage to the song that launched The Warning's career when they were still young kids back in 2014. This is a genius band that indeed has it all!
I’ll recommend you start your The Warning journey thusly: first two albums in order, tracks in order. Then Queen of the Murder Scene album tracks in order. THEN watch RUclips videos of them live from about 2017 until 2020. THEN their current EP Mayhem tracks videos and studio without videos. THEN watch their live performance from this past weekend in Daytona. They write all of their material. It’s just fantastic. I’m 61 and absolutely love this band because they bring something that to me has been lacking from the rock music scene lately: charisma and joy. Edit to add that I’d forgotten the TED talks. That’s where I first saw and heard them.
For as much as I love Metallica, after all it was The Warnings cover of this song back in 2014 that got me interested in them to begin with, I still definitely like this rendition far more than the original. They took James Hetfields original idea of this song as being a “lullaby” for his son and created a far more Surreal….. Darker….. Creepier….. Haunting, almost horror movie feel of a song with a powerful ending that gives homage to the original, what a touch of class. And Dany’s high note leading into the ending is EPIC! They absolutely killed it! The more we hear from The Warning, the more I come to believe it is literally impossible for the sisters to put out anything subpar! And, this collaboration with Alissa Cara, who by the way is a Grammy award winning Canadian pop star with millions of followers was a perfect melding of pop and rock. Yet In my opinion, it is absolutely The Warning who bring the “hit factor” to this recreation of an iconic song. What a Bold Statement! But, I honestly did not expect anything less. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 21, 19 and 16 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Fantastic re-imagination of this iconic song. They picked up where Metallica left off; after mom and dad turn off the light and close the door. They lead you through never never land, Alessia softly beckoning you go further, down the stairs, past the creepy lady saying the prayer and then beating you about the head and shoulders with the original riff. Dany said that since James Hetfield wrote this as a creepy lullaby, they decided to deconstruct the song and make it into that lullaby.
Well, it seems like I was not the only one that caught the bug, it seems that my friend from the Southern hemisphere has also caught the bug as well and trust me, you are going to be in for a hell of a trip. I love this band and everything about them. Their riffs and melodies and pure talent keeps me holding on. Best band I have heard in many many years. They've been recording/performing for over 11 years as independently produced musicians on their own label. Plus many YT cover videos. Grammy nominated for their 2019 album Venom and Faith. They won't disappoint!
The Warning is my all time favorite band, which says something as it was previously Led Zeppelin. I’m not saying that they are better than LZ but, that I now prefer to hear The Warning over any band that exists or did. ✌🏻❤️

I like this version a lot more than the original. The original is iconic, but to my mind it's a straightforward enough metal headbanger. This one has more beauty to it, but an evil and sinister beauty -- perfectly appropriate for a band whose previous album was Queen of the Murder Scene.

They refused to give up creative control over their material ... down to even the clothes they wear on stage. After 7 months of negotiations, The Warning signed a 5 album recording contract with Lava/Republic Records/Universal Music Group last fall. They recently decided to release 1/2 (6 songs) of their completed 3rd full-length album in an EP called Mayday. "Disciple" is my favorite track!
The Warning do not come from a family of musicians, however, their parents are huge fans of classic rock. Both parents are professionals (civil engineer and dentist) and they enrolled their daughters into a private Catholic English speaking school Liceo de Monterrey, Mexico. They also started the girls with classical piano lessons at ages 6, 4 and 5 years old. Regular family functions included gathering around the TV with popcorn and watching LIVE concert dvds of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and AC/DC. When their parents got them the video game Rock Band at ages 8, 6 and 3, they went nuts playing it obsessively. A year or so later, they got "real" instruments with lessons from professional teachers: and the rest is history. Amazing they are 21, 19 and 16 years old and have already written and arranged #44 original songs all by themselves! The oldest, Dany (Daniela) plays guitar, keyboards, lead vocals on 75% of their songs, backing harmonies. Pau (Paulina) plays drums, keyboards, lead vocals on 25% of their songs, backing harmonies. Ale` (Alejandra) plays bass, keyboards, backing harmonies. The drummer Pau begins writing around 75% of their songs. In her songs, she starts with a concept, then works on chord progressions and basic song structure on piano while adding lyrics. She then brings it before her sisters and together they transpose each individual instrument's part; making changes along the way. They also complete the lyrics together; since Pau may only bring one verse and a chorus. All 3 must unanimously approve of each instrument's part and each vocal harmony before it becomes a completed song. Nothing is set in stone until it makes it through the gauntlet. Pau has said if not for her sisters, her songs would be different. Both Dany and Ale` write equally great songs; just not as many. I was fortunate enough to get to meet them after their show January 16th, 2020 at The Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, California. Aside from their music, they are just normal, sweet, intelligent, and fun-loving young ladies who are truely grateful and endearing to their fans.

Fantastic re-imagination of this iconic song. They picked up where Metallica left off; after mom and dad turn off the light and close the door. They lead you through never never land, Alessia softly beckoning you go further, down the stairs, past the creepy lady saying the prayer and then beating you about the head and shoulders with the original riff. Dany said that since James Hetfield wrote this as a creepy lullaby, they decided to deconstruct the song and make it into that lullaby.

This was the song that propelled this group and to start getting the recognition they truly deserved. It was Alessia Cara who introduced me to The Warning and their version of Enter Sandman. I love this band and everything about them. Their riffs and melodies and pure talent keeps me holding on. Best band I have heard in many many years. I am 66 years old and cannot get enough of their music! Love your channel and now subscribed.

There is another sister fronted band that you ought to check out, Larkin Poe. Rebecca(lead) & Megan(lap steel) Lovell. American roots blues rock artists. They've been recording/performing for over 11 years as independently produced musicians on their own label. Plus many YT cover videos. Grammy nominated for their 2019 album Venom and Faith. They won't disappoint!

The Warning is my all time favorite band, which says something as it was previously Led Zeppelin. I’m not saying that they are better than LZ but, that I now prefer to hear The Warning over any band that exists or did. ✌🏻❤️

I like this version a lot more than the original. The original is iconic, but to my mind it's a straightforward enough metal headbanger. This one has more beauty to it, but an evil and sinister beauty -- perfectly appropriate for a band whose previous album was Queen of the Murder Scene.

Ok, so - a bit of backstory here, their youtube cover (a faithful cover) of 'Enter Sandman' was what put them on the map in the first place... at the ages of (I think) 9-14ish? I'd recommend you go back and watch that as well as the 'Ellen' Crazy Train video... then work your way from there ;)
