Chris Metzen created Soldier 76 long before he worked at Blizzard. Also, he’s retired and has been a pivotal part of Blizzard. He basically created the lore you love in Warcraft especially revolving around Thrall.

Mercy invented the nanobot infusions that allow her to heal people so quickly. She theorized that this tech can be used for immense harm (see Ana's dart gun, canonically based on the same tech). Moira likely uses the same nanotech to mass alter a person's genes en masse and possibly to steal their biomass in combat.
They both are the doctors and scientists and friends (was).. before they have different method for healing systems.. while moira systems are too double edged sword which it will have another effects while it's healing.. when mercy has the opposite ones as moira.. their ideology as the doctors and scientist are really different.. so yeah.. they actually related
