Danny and the juniors at the hop good old 1957, my grandfather told me it was this summer song it’s skyrocket that year. It was a summer song that you can go out with your girlfriend to the burger joint and just have it blasting your car. My grandfather passed away. I always think of him from time to time so whenever I’m in the car, I will put on Danny and the juniors at the hop to remember the good times I had with him. Miss you, grandpa

Now you mention it, I think you're right. What is it with the modern stuff - No chorus - all I hear is one recognisable sentence at an unpredictable interval from the last time and then its over and I'm thinking "Did I start thinking about something else while I was listening to this??" "Why is it over?" "Actually, what was it about?"......and I never come up with any answers. So, I came here instead - relief! :-)

My Dad was the guy in our family that everyone wanted to dance with. He was a good dancer and fun to be around. This was his Era. He grew up with this music on the radio, going to hops, dances every weekend. He absolutely LOVED dancing to this particular song. God, I miss him. Lost him just over a year ago now. When this came across my feed, I just smiled thinking, "Yeah, Dad, you're still around us. Now you're just dancing with your mom" ❤ the 50's had some of the best songs. Just plain fun.

Imagine hair combed cut short. Clean dressy clothes. Real music no fake drums etc etc. Yup the good life we left in the 50 s.

Such a cool song. I was born in the late 1970s, so it’s always been a golden oldie to me. I’ve loved it since I was a wee lad in me mum’s arms. Cheers for the upload!

I agree. Same age too. Each of these decades is a magical music ride. The 90's had good music too but by the late 90's you could hear good music was fading. ✌️

In 1979, Hauppauge High School, L.I. N.Y. put on a "Vaudeville Show", which included "Danny & the Juniors"!
Even though it was twenty years after their initial success, they still 'brought the house down' with "At the Hop!"
The audience of 30-40 something parents, couldn't stay in their seats & started dancing & jumping, to the
amazement of their teenage children! This was the best $3.00 per person admission, of my life!

I was lucky enough to have my dad born in 1937 I grew up in the '80s and my dad had still the old records in the 45s he bought when he was a kid so I knew all about this stuff the simplicity of it all is the beauty and it was a good resurgence of that in the 1980s as well which of course made me happy and my dad as well
