Yeah the Luce and the cosmo at the end aren’t something that was out at the same time, they did a Luce in the HB it was like the cosmo just 4 doors and maybe no pop up lights. HC (big boy) was out the same time as the FC and the JC

Btw those wheels you mentioned a couple of times in the video are just the stock wheels for the final revision of the RX-8, the R3

@@spacetoaster7 close - MZ3 had narrow 18s, base RX-8s had wider 18s, and then the R3 (North America)/RS (Japan) and Spirit R got the 19" forged BBS version.

That Shohei guy with the blue RX7 used to actually take photos and stuff for Queensland street car magazine. They used to publish Japanese car meets in it.

20 years after seeing an FC in a junkyard and getting talked out of making that my first car, I still haven't been able to scratch that rotary itch. It's never been the "right" time to get into a rotary, but one day I'll find it in me.
Now is the time to hop on the FC train. They can still be had for cheap compared to other similar cars. Nice examples are going for bigger and bigger money on BaT and C&B.
Wasnt able to convince my mother to let me buy an FD when I was barely over 20, and sale fell through, back in 2019.
FDs are now triple the price that one was up for, itll be a struggle to ever own one now.

@@tokirak yeah those hard top FC arent sitting complete in a junkyard like that one did so many years ago. Ive considered a cabrio one from time to time but thats hard settling
Love seeing the Initial D replicas! White FCs really do look the best, and yellow FDs are hard to beat, too, though I might be a bit biased 😅
FBs look so good with a clean paintjob, and that slitted hood is a cherry on top!
I drive a 30yr old golf and the clearcoat is still holding up, shame to see it peeling on RX-8s already...

Just got my first rotary a few weeks ago! 82 FB Base model with a 12a streeported on Holley Sniper EFI. Very very fun car. I’ve ported and stacked a couple REW motors but nothing on my own car! Excited.
nerd fact on the suzuki re5, notice the exhaust headers have an opening in the pipe near the rear of the front tyre? That's because the whole exhaust is double skinned to allow cool air into the the pipe which flow over the inner exhaust pipe to help control the heat put out by the engine so you didn't burn your bell bottoms of flares....
What better than spinning triangles at 10am eastern, ily 💞

High contrast colours look so nice on the FD. Pinks, yellows, light blues. White and black always look good too. Hmm... actually they just look great in every colour.

The white RX-7 at 3:47 is beautiful. No crazy front aero, no ground effects, no super wing... Just perfection from the factory, with some tasteful wheels... PURE. 👌
11:27 those wheels are exclusively to the R3 trim of the RX-8. They look great but are kind of heavy iirc. It also comes with other goodies like Recaro seats
Nothing kewler then the Rx7!!! Had about 7 of em and one was a FD RZ model, super rare, should of kept it.

9:42. these wheels were actually the stock wheels from the face lift. they came standard with the rx8 r3 and they came on a few gen 1 rx8 40th anniversary cars. they look like little rotars so they really wanted you to know they’re rotary powered😂

Not a hooligan rotary fan here, but always liked the ReAmemiya kit, the one with the headlights on the front bumper, 935 style. Think suits the car and makes the front more personal. The rear of an FD is almost perfect and full of personality. Great video!

Alexi! This wheels you saw on some of the facelifted RX-8s are original for RX-8. This is forged BBS wheels made for versions: R3 in europe, Spirt-R and Type-RS (i`m not sure, but for Spirt-R for suer). And yes, similiar but not forged you can saw on Mazda6 :D
And yes -i have R3 version with original BBS forged wheels :D
That Luce was probably a taxi back then, that's why they kept the head coverings as a theme.
One car that I find interesting that works well with rotary... is the Suzuki Cappuccino. I've seen a few of them online and it turns out to be a popular swap.
I wouldn't have expected them to be playing melodic dubstep there. I like it.

I think yellow is the best colour for a FD, especially with the Mazdaspeed A-Spec body kit :3
FDs really do look great in just about any colour.
Agree on yellow being a top choice, but I also love the gray silver on the Spirit R.
Those old Cosmos at the end were fantastic too, never seen anything like them where I live, but I adore the shape and 80s-ness of them!

got regamasters on FD is just sooooo good. but i agree alexi, yellow is definitely top 2 colors of FD. My othjer favorite is the oem dark green color that came on the FD. the with tan interior is my dream spec
the eunis cosmo's stock wheel reminds me of the Abflug Revolfe rims that also has the double 3 spoke thing going on

The tiny bumpers on the Luce are definitely tax bracket related.
Using S130 crowns as a comparison, the small engined ones had tiny bumpers and were cheaper, but the JZ ones had bigger bumpers because engine size was already bigger tax bracket.

I was driving today and I saw a really nice S4 FC. I got home and saw this video - I feel like I won the lottery! Also those RX8 wheels you keep seeing, I think they're the RX8 Spirit R wheels. The fork in the spoke makes the shape of a rotor.

The Luce feels like a 90s Lincoln that got its nose chopped off and then squished a bit back to front in order to make it more compact.
