Sounds like a much needed "break", great news on the new clients and new chapters, well deserved. I have learnt a vast amount from your tutorials all the way from the UK, so thank you! Looking forward to the new content (when you have time)! Grant
Happy to see u back ! what u did is very healthy ! far away from the youtube's "always hurry to make and post video" stress ! it's just the.....real life ! and i'm sure u come back now more relaxed, refreshed and ready to continue with quality content here ! Cheers from a graphic designer and real estate videomaker in France !
Nice reset Taylor. Look forward to the new direction. I’ve been doing a few shoots a month, experimenting with different techniques and getting back into video.
I’m glad you’re are doing great brother. I miss you. I’m just getting into real estate photography. I’ve been a photographer for about 5 years now and you and Andrei have been very supportive. I appreciate you guys. 🙌🏾
Glad you are doing well and focusing on serving clients and continuing to work on your craft out in the real world! I’ve been running into the same thing - wanting to film BTS but it’s just a lot when you are working with clients and focusing on the shoot itself.
Thanks! It's definitely a challenge. Insta360 has got to be the easiest way to do it solo but with video productions, it's still hard to get it out of the shot sometimes lol. Maybe a POV camera would be cool? They have the tiny necklace/magnet mount one that would work for that. Having an assistant there to film some things would be the best though - hopefully we can both have one eventually :)
It’s totally understandable, you’ve gotta take care of yourself and have balance. No shame or guilt, it’s necessary. On a side note, I’ve got two quick questions; I’m just getting into real estate videography. I have all of the higher end gear from shooting music videos, but I don’t have a drone. Would not using a drone be generally unprofessional, like missing out on something standard in the industry? Also, would $950 for an average video shoot be too low for houses around $500k? Thanks for taking the time!
Depends on general market pricing your area as far as pricing goes! Might be a bit high for starting out but might be great if you find the right clients and projects. Totally possible with no drone but I highly recommend it. Could always start out finding someone local to hire to do drone until you get set up for it.
Glad you are back. Always needing more information and you the guy to go for. My videos suck and need to learn from the masters. I think I chop and change too much. Just want to go an easier route. Any Ideas. ?
Good on ya man. Client work is draining and really takes away from your own creative passions. Also just can be a lot to handle. A break is always good.
Have you shot slog 3 in real estate much? Just picked up the a7siii and would love a tutorial on how to expose and shoot between rooms with varying lighting conditions!
Not a ton but yes! I think I generally exposed a little bit to the right of center on the histogram. Main thing is to keep the iso at 640 or 12,800 (might be 800 for the low base but I can’t remember) for the cleanest shots! For interiors you just have to prioritize the interior exposure and sometimes you can get the window views but sometimes you can’t.
This video might help some since you can see the footage in log plus graded - How to make your Real Estate Videos look NATURAL | My Color Grading Workflow | SLOG3 ruclips.net/video/S91_yIFTJqE/видео.html I also did my whole video course using the a7s3 for the demos
Great question - I started out at a local company but when I branched off and focused more on videography, it was mostly referrals and I joined/sponsored real estate related events to get access to realtors and the opportunity to network with people and then by word of mouth from there too. Definitely much faster ways now if you have a solid portfolio and/or social media! Engaging with local realtors' content (genuinely - not spamming about your business), DM'ing people to introduce yourself / your business, going physically to agents/brokers offices in person to meet them and/or set up introductions and do things that are valuable to them like offer to teach about social media or content creation etc. Just some ideas! Mostly just making people aware that you are available and (hopefully) can provide quality work and are a likable enough person to work with.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo thank you sooo much for this valuable response, honestly i dont know why you dont have more subs, the value inside your videos are insane, I keep coming back for more. As a newbie in this topic learning from you is a nice shortcut to have.
I’ve noticed in your other videos that you’ve been using the C70. How have you been liking it? I shoot 15+ real estate videos a month and love my a7s3 but want to upgrade to the fx6 but with the price drop on the c70 and now the c80 coming in cheaper than fx6, was wondering how the size of that body is for long days on a gimbal? Much appreciated bro, keep on killing it 🍻
It’s great! But I think Sonys low light performance + ibis or the c80 native isos would be better for mostly doing real estate work. I do a lot of interviews / doc / commercial stuff too so for that I like the c70.
@@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo yeah the main reason I’m considering the c80 is the triple base iso! Plus being much cheaper than the 4 year old fx6 lol How do you find having no ibis?
Dude yessss, glad to see you posting! Whoever finds you to shoot their stuff is definitely blessed. You've got the eye.
Made the update for you 🤙 haha thanks man

Simple & Watchable footage and edits is the way to go. Also practice for gimbal work makes a difference.
Inspiring!
Thanks!

Thank you for all your tutorials, can we use capcut to edit or davinci would be better to achieve such results?
Thanks! Davinci has way more you can do with color grading, but CapCut is fast and easier so it all depends on your goals/needs!
How did you get the client jobs in other states? epic
Recent clients thanks to RUclips!
When you started with this journey how was your approach when getting your first clients ?

How do you find having no ibis?
It’s not too bad. But ibis, or the RF lenses with stabilization would make things a little easier for sure
