What a beautiful sight, can you just imagine it in full sail? Magnificent ❤Well captured Simon. Right time. Right place. Splice the main brace 🥃🥃And the music, awesome. So inspiring. In short. Bloody Marvellous 👍👏👏👏Tally ho🐎🦊Allan&Family
My Dad used to make these tall ships in model form all the rigging and details took him months of detailed work. I have the Black Pearl at home. There is a video on youtube Model Ships by Ken Stephenson if anyone wants to see.
Amazing capture, thank you! I got a heck of a surprise about an hour ago when I glanced up from my book and saw a Spanish galleon gliding past my window! (They turned her in the upper harbour before berthing at Dock End.) Bit of Googling revealed all, and of course you were right there with this brilliant video. Well done sir! Arrr!
Shame it was running on engines and not sail. But a great sight to see even so. It's going to be a great attraction when docked in the harbour. Thanks for showing this to us all Simon :)
Normally this boat sails with sails, but when it reaches port or coast it uses an auxiliary engine for approach maneuvers, needing the help of other boats to dock at the dock. Thanks to the fact that we live with technical advances, many sailing boats can and are used today, even if they are replicas from other centuries.
Fantastic video. Great sight of a great galleon. You were in a great place to get such a marvelous view and show it to us all. We are privileged to be able to be lucky enough to see it too. Bet is was amazing to see. Thank you very much great music too.
Would have loved to have seen the motors switched off and the sails unfurled as it came into the harbour to transport us all back to them days. Aaaar Jim lad. 🏴☠️
@@simplywhitby5356 The Traitors was a reality TV show with 2 series’. The first one came out in Nov-Dec 2022, and the second series was being aired in January this year, she was apart of the second series and everyone watching it loved her for her northern Irish accent and hard work that she put in. She also had her son, Ross in the game which made her stick out even more to the fans. She lives in Lytham St Anne’s so she was very local to the festival happening last week. And she made an appearance for the final night.
Thanks to my Friend Simon for shooting the footage.
Amazing ship such beautiful bring them on, music fantastic. Thank you.

Remember my dad building one,, With all the bits and pieces 😂,,, Airfix
Imagine a fleet of them coming to your shores, to conquer the Devil out of it . Wonderful footage of a gorgeous ship. Thank you!
It travels bloody well considering there's no sail deployed. 🤣🤣
What a spectacular sight and well fitting for a beautiful town
Wow! A rare sight despite our nautical history. Even when not under sail, its easy to imagine how unstable these vessels are.

I’ve seen her many times over the years but have yet to see her in full sail.
What Beautiful Ship,
“Ladies and gentlemen we are in Whitby Harbour and what appears to be a pirate ship …” . Getting serious Goonies vibes right now!
Sadly it's in the original Whitby 😉
It would be great to see this ship paying a visit to Robin Hoods Bay, Just down the road (coast)…would make a great postcard..!😇

I suddenly feel all nautical
I live in Whitby, Ontario and was upset to see that it was another Whitby.
Love the background music

@simplywhitby5356 Hey Simon, I forgot to ask how
long is it staying in Whitby for?
🤔
Nobody expects the Spanish Galeon? Wait ..
shiver me timbers !
Wish I was there to see it unfortunately at work for 2 weeks 😟
last time they tried that they got blown to pieces
También voló en pedazos la English armada de Drake y se fue de España con el rabo entre las piernas

Wow
Four centuries ago, seeing this vessel off the coast would have been cause for panic in the streets.
Indeed!
great how a galeon can get in to port with no sails up 🤣
a diesel engine
It's Captain Jack Sparrows Black Pearl! Would have been nice to see it in full sail!
It looks Brilliant. How long will it be in Whitby
3 or 4 days
I believe Diane from the traitors was at the final night of Lytham festival!?
Who is that?

Hope there was'nt any " illegal aliens" onboard.
I wonder if starmer will charter it to do a few runs between dover & calais😂😂
Where is Drake and the English Navy? Cannot allow these spaniads into our country.
more asylum seekers from Europe
A Drake le ocurrió lo mismo cuando visitó España con la english armada 😄
Get the Drake Out! Probably another 100,000 headaches on-board to deal with..
