Tried Fish Cottage after seeing your video, even had curry sauce for the first time ever. Food was amazing, so good, we went back again a couple of days later. This is our new favourite place for fish and chips, will definitely go back on our next holiday in Whitby ❤
@@janicefreeman6932 i live in the UK…I have a couple of full English per year and haddock chips and mushy at least once per week..and i love a carvery dinner..at least once per month..but for fish chips and mushy peas i can easily do frozen fish and chips in an air fryer in about 15minutes and frozen peas in a pan in 5 minutes..i would have thought any freezer shop in the world could provide these ingredients..
We had to get my brother to get some from a village a few miles away he would go on his bike.and mum would warm them when he got home. We didn't have them very often. But still enjoyed them.
Im from whitby originally, my mam still lives their, been in raf moved around ended up in darlington, love the videos brings back the feel of home when watching

Looks great one point….if in a restaurant use cutlery,if eating fish n chips outdoors use your fingers and I personally think they tasted better out of newspaper instead of those horrible plastic containers and you got more!
Oh yes news paper stored in the cellar for years with ratspee…or stored by the wc and splashed by bad aimers… Much better out of newspaper…hygiene dont go down that nimby route.

Hello both, Fish Cottage ( no codding 😂👌) Fair stepping out the pair of you🚶🚶🚶🏃No good, I still miss eating out of the. newspaper, printers ink added another condement. That said, yours looked fabulous. Good size portion chips & a nice bit of cod. The only thing about this video that got on my nerves. The loud music, thumping away 🎶🔊🎶🎼 But all in all a pleasant video, good to see you both happy and well fed. Tally ho 🦊🐎Allan&Family
Tinned peas just don’t work for me, they are for emergencies only!!! 😂 Mushy peas are made from marrow fat peas and I steep the peas in the bicarbonate soda tablets that you get in the box. I Finish the peas with a nice knob of butter but you can do the same with tinned peas too.
I had fish and chips in a restaurant this week …the peas were a single sauce size portion of puréed mushy peas…the tomato sauce and tartare sauce portions were all the same size..ive never seen puréed mushy peas in a sauce portion before..
@@simplywhitby5356 the portion of mushy that you had…mine was about a 6th of that..but better than that in London theyre adding a service charge onto the Bill… Maybe it’s a mushy peas crop failure that brought a cup of mushy peas to a relish portion..? Maybe the mushy pea farmers in Lincolnshire will migrate to New England..
Mrs M has a beautiful smile, just like my Mrs. Unfortunately my Mrs isn't a fan of Fish 'n' Chips. I haven't had this meal of champions since the start of you know what. My favourite chippy didn't survive it!
