Introducing SS Meridian!
Originally built as the Galileo Galilei, it underwent a significant refurbishment to become the flagship of the newly formed Celebrity Cruises in 1990. Known for its elegant design and comfortable accommodations, the Meridian introduced a new standard of luxury cruising. In 1997, the ship was sold to Sun Cruises and was later renamed Sun Vista. However, its time with Sun Cruises was relatively short-lived. On May 20, 1999, she caught fire and sank off the coast of Malaysia. All crew and passengers were evacuated and the Sun Vista sank overnight.
