Being Italian, we just stretch out our dough on a cookie sheet. I've never known anyone in my family, going 3 generations who made pizza in a round pan. We have always had a good laugh as to why people make them around and then put them into a square box. Roasting your veggies makes such a wonderful pizza to enjoy. Roast peppers, tomatoes, garlic

Awww Renea, These pizzas are All You!!! You should sell these, I mean you grew the tomatoes that's in your sauce... every one is made from scratch. And I love that you take the time to saulte your vegetables before adding them... Saulted onions and peppers taste soooo good... camelized... I had to edit this, because you answered my questions, I am watching this again!!! My question was how do we get them out of the pans, but you just showed us how easy it is!!! You are amazing!!! Let us know how your oven baked bread turns out!!!! Pizzas looks amazing!!

I agree with you, Renee, about how you clean your cast iron pans. I wash mine with soap and water as well and dry them on the burner. Then in goes the oil, rub it around and heat the pan up until it is screaming hot. I have had no issues with them. My mom did hers the same way and so did both of my grandmothers. I'm sitting here watching you make your pizzas and have decided that pizza is in my future this evening! I have never tried the sauteed veggies on my pizza but the next time I prepare pizza at home I'm giving that a try. My pizza tonight is being delivered from one of my favorite pizza places. Just being lazy. Just love watching you cook! I've picked up so many tips from you - thank you!

Thank you for telling us about your cast iron pans! I have had people argue with me for as long as I can remember because I refuse to eat off a pan that hasn't been washed after using too. I have finally found someone else who agrees with me. I would like to try a pizza cook in an outdoor wood fire oven someday. After having a teenage boy after I had to stop cooking like I used to (which was basically living in my kitchen) I don't even like pizza anymore. I am pretty sure cooking that way would taste entirely different!

My mom ALWAYS washed her cast iron with hot soapy water. She only had cast iron frying pans. She put the pans on her fire to dry also. I never saw her seasin them so I don't know what she used...probably not olive oil because I am sure she never heard of olive oil. I would imagine she used lard. My mom paased away in 1999 so she was an old fashioned cook. She was born during the Great Depression so you know she learned to take really good care of her stuff.

I ABSOLUTELY wash my cast iron also!!!! I will also use an SOS pad if necessary! I run a dry towel over them and like you, I put them on the stove on HIGH to be sure there is NO moisture left! Then I oil them. There are the old or traditional ways of doing it, and I've done that. BUT I, like you, am concerned about the pan not being clean. I just can't cook meat in my cast iron and then just wipe it. I understand that because cast iron gets so hot, nothing could possibly survive that heat, but I just can't help it. It has NEVER impacted my cast iron in any way by washing it with soap and water...not even using an SOS pad on occasion! :D Sometimes people get STUCK with an idea about how something should be done, and think there's is no room for change or progress. I do that sometimes myself! However, I'm sorry people are being snarky to you about it. That is NO way to convince someone of ANYthing! :D. Love ya!!! Your friend in cast iron destruction, Kelly 🤣 (Colorado)
