Oh my gosh! You will never know how much I appreciate you making this video! My husband built me an outdoor wood fired pizza oven 2 years ago and I have been a been a colossal failure making pizza! Now I see what I'm doing wrong...Thank you !!!!
Renae I hope you write down all of your recipes for your daughter. They are like a treasure. Everytime she cooks something from your book she will think of you. God bless
Being Italian, we just stretch out our dough on a cookie sheet. I've never known anyone in my family, going 3 generations who made pizza in a round pan. We have always had a good laugh as to why people make them around and then put them into a square box. Roasting your veggies makes such a wonderful pizza to enjoy. Roast peppers, tomatoes, garlic
Awe thanks for the shout out glad you liked the storage container I know you liked the big ones when you were here I need to still get some more but they are amazing. Love you girl
Awww Renea, These pizzas are All You!!! You should sell these, I mean you grew the tomatoes that's in your sauce... every one is made from scratch. And I love that you take the time to saulte your vegetables before adding them... Saulted onions and peppers taste soooo good... camelized... I had to edit this, because you answered my questions, I am watching this again!!! My question was how do we get them out of the pans, but you just showed us how easy it is!!! You are amazing!!! Let us know how your oven baked bread turns out!!!! Pizzas looks amazing!!
I agree with you, Renee, about how you clean your cast iron pans. I wash mine with soap and water as well and dry them on the burner. Then in goes the oil, rub it around and heat the pan up until it is screaming hot. I have had no issues with them. My mom did hers the same way and so did both of my grandmothers. I'm sitting here watching you make your pizzas and have decided that pizza is in my future this evening! I have never tried the sauteed veggies on my pizza but the next time I prepare pizza at home I'm giving that a try. My pizza tonight is being delivered from one of my favorite pizza places. Just being lazy. Just love watching you cook! I've picked up so many tips from you - thank you!
Good Morning, I’m cracking up with my morning coffee. When you said - it’s like serving dinner on a plate after the previous meal, I lost it. I as well wash with soap and water, dry on stove heat and wipe a little olive oil on them. Great Pizza tutorial, Have A Wonderful Day🌷
Renee, you are a wonderful home cook. I wish I would’ve had someone like you when I was younger they teach me how to cook. Before the Internet, and there was RUclips. I had cookbooks, but it’s not the same as watching somebody cook and learning bye seeing. Thank you for the things you’re teaching people. There’s things I have learned as well and I’m 60 years old. Have a blessed day
I was going to ask about the pans, but you answered it before I could type it. I love that you anticipate my questions before they're asked. You're amazing!
Renea I’m 64 yrs old and I clean my cast iron skillet just like you . Soap and water also if needed SOS pad to make sure they are clean . But after I heat them on the stove to dry them out I put a little oil and use a paper towel to wipe the inside of my pans just like seasoning them . Your pans look just like mine . Thank you for sharing God Bless you and Mr Wayna
Those pizzas lookfantastic Renee they look so and I like how John helps you do stuff he is a sweetheart they are a lot of men help their wives but John is a sweet kind person yes he is but yes those pizzas look fantastic love you guys hope to see you in your next video
I wash my cast iron with soapy water and dry on the stove and oil it and same as you never had a problem. My grandmother did it this way also. I am like you I don't want my next meal cooked in a dirty skillet Love your pizza so yummy
Yeah!!!! I clean my cast iron the exact same way. My daughter yells at me all the time for it saying I am doing it wrong. Mine are gorgeous and nothing sticks to them.
Hi Renea and John! This was awesome watching you cook in the outdoor pizza oven. I wash my cast iron skillets in soapy water too, it’s the way my mother and grandmother taught me. The pizzas looked great. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed day!
Finally someone spoke the truth about cast iron pan care. My grandma did hers the same way and that's how I'm going to do mine. Thank you for putting it out there ❤ your pans look beautiful, love your videos
I absolutely loved this video and 🤤 drooled the whole time I watched it. You are a marvelous cook. I am probably your age and learn so much from you. 😊
Good morning, Renea. Thank you for sharing the freezer version with us. I live alone, so having these in the freezer will be so wonderful. I am glad you are enjoying your outdoor oven so much. I know you were excited to get it. I love your recipes. Thank you for sharing! God bless you and your family.
Oh, you definitely are tugging at my heartstrings with all of those sauteed veggies. Even tho I'm not vegetarian, I actually like pizza with only veggies. Your pizzas look absolutely delicious! I do not have an outdoor pizza oven, but gosh, that would take any pizza over the top. Thank you for the dough recipe too.
Hi there, just love watching your videos. Your such an inspiration. I do have a tip for you , when chopping onions, put a glass of water nearby. The effects of the onion will be stopped. ( no more tears ) Sending love & hugs sweet friend.
Hey friend! I totally agree with you on the cast iron cleaning!! That's exactly what I do too, and I don't care what anyone says😜 it works great!! Been doing it for as long as I have been cooking! Have a wonderful week. Look forward to seeing ya again soon 🤗
When I buy fresh mushrooms, I lightly brown them in some olive oil and some butter. Then I freeze them so that when I need them for a casserole or whatever, they're all ready. When you use them, then you can add any garlic or spices you want. Love your videos.
Boy I sure wish I was your neighbor!! Pizza is my FAVORITE food!!! Also, I'd be your best customer at your market stand for sure!! Love your channel! PS: I do the same with my cast iron! If I've cooked fish, I especially don't want that taste in my next meal!
Thank you I wash my pans and re-oil them every time I use them. My other half use to buy Teflon pans but I would scrub them clean to get all the food off of them as they got older so now they don’t have much Teflon on them. So we only buy cast iron or stainless steel pans.
Looks delicious! I rarely say anything, but, I’ve been following you for quite sometime. I too am a former OTR Trucker. Good times. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! I'm the same with my cast iron! Also, took me a bit to learn that if you let them come to temp then what you cook won't stick. Could you freeze dry a pizza and send to me? 🤣
i absolutely love your philosophy on cast iron maintenance...i do pretty much the same with hot soapy water and can't remember how many times i have been told i'm "ruining" my pans...😊. have a great week
I just love watching your videos. You so much remind me of my mom. You and I are probably around the same age, but it's your love of cooking and people that are similar to my mom. Me, I'm not a cook, and I'm not a people person anymore 😂. Thank you for sharing your delicious meals and desserts with us. My son laughs at me, and he says I watch, but never make anything . One day, I'll surprise him. Just not today🤷♀️😂.
Happy Sunday Renee 🌷😇🌷 you look like a professional pizza maker 🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕 and that's what I'm having for lunch today Pizza 🍕🚶🍕🚶🍕🚶 and may the Lord bless you and your family with his peace love and. JOY🦋🏠🦋 and the new pizza oven is very nice 🍕🍕🍕🍕 and hope you and your family have a great and thank you for teaching us how to make pizzas 🍕😀🍕
Hi Renea 🥰Really enjoy your videos love all the recipes you. make and so easy🥰Thank you for sharing all your knowledge with us🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽Have an awesome and blessed day ❤️❤️
Hi Friend. You are absolutely amazing. You keep on going like the energy bunny commercial. That was a glorious video, so much fun to watch. I’m sure the sautéed veggies are scrumptious. It looked mouth watering delicious. Wow, just Wow! Thanks for listening 🤓🍁🍕🍕🍕
That’s why I love you “you do it your way” I like the way you clean your cast iron skillet , thanks for the tips on making pizza 🍕, going to cook my onions and peppers 🫑 … keep doing your u tube videos xoxo
Thank you for telling us about your cast iron pans! I have had people argue with me for as long as I can remember because I refuse to eat off a pan that hasn't been washed after using too. I have finally found someone else who agrees with me. I would like to try a pizza cook in an outdoor wood fire oven someday. After having a teenage boy after I had to stop cooking like I used to (which was basically living in my kitchen) I don't even like pizza anymore. I am pretty sure cooking that way would taste entirely different!
Today's modern dish soap do not have the lye and acids of soaps past. They are perfectly good for washing seasoned cast iron and I do the same as you and Little Village Homestead
Hi Renae. I love ur videos and can't wait for your next video. I actually binge watched all your videos when I first discovered your channel. 😊. Try sliced potatoes on those pizza's . Its devine! By the way you look like an italian woman against the fire pizza oven. I love that as I'm italian and can relate ❤ keep making videos.❤
My mom ALWAYS washed her cast iron with hot soapy water. She only had cast iron frying pans. She put the pans on her fire to dry also. I never saw her seasin them so I don't know what she used...probably not olive oil because I am sure she never heard of olive oil. I would imagine she used lard. My mom paased away in 1999 so she was an old fashioned cook. She was born during the Great Depression so you know she learned to take really good care of her stuff.
Look at you go! Made your dough recipe, froze and gave to my boys for their stores. It was a huge hit! Appreciate all your hard work and devotion to your family!
I’m way older than you I do the same thing , except I use bacon grease and that is also how my mother and grandmother did theirs and I can fry eggs without sticking
I wash my cast iron pan with soap and water too. I heard you can bake the clean pans in the oven with oil. If they rust in sections I oil them and bake them in the oven
If I get any rust on mine, I use an SOS pad and get it off. It has NEVER impacted my cast iron, doesn't even leave a mark and my pans have the smooth interiors!
I ABSOLUTELY wash my cast iron also!!!! I will also use an SOS pad if necessary! I run a dry towel over them and like you, I put them on the stove on HIGH to be sure there is NO moisture left! Then I oil them. There are the old or traditional ways of doing it, and I've done that. BUT I, like you, am concerned about the pan not being clean. I just can't cook meat in my cast iron and then just wipe it. I understand that because cast iron gets so hot, nothing could possibly survive that heat, but I just can't help it. It has NEVER impacted my cast iron in any way by washing it with soap and water...not even using an SOS pad on occasion! :D Sometimes people get STUCK with an idea about how something should be done, and think there's is no room for change or progress. I do that sometimes myself! However, I'm sorry people are being snarky to you about it. That is NO way to convince someone of ANYthing! :D. Love ya!!! Your friend in cast iron destruction, Kelly 🤣 (Colorado)
We don't sell pizza. I accept donations for pizza. I have been given everything from money to wood to toppings in trade for pizza and it if so much fun and of course if someone wanted a pizza and had nothing to offer, they would get a pizza anyway. That is what we do.
Oh my gosh! You will never know how much I appreciate you making this video! My husband built me an outdoor wood fired pizza oven 2 years ago and I have been a been a colossal failure making pizza! Now I see what I'm doing wrong...Thank you !!!!

That’s how I season mine as well. I don’t care, I need to make sure it’s clean and that’s what I do… 😊
How nice to receive such a lovely gift from City Girl, how thoughtful of her!
Awe thanks for the shout out glad you liked the storage container I know you liked the big ones when you were here I need to still get some more but they are amazing. Love you girl

YES I WASH MY CAST IRON. And conditioner after! No rust, no sticking. Always thought it was gross otherwise. Right behind you girl!
