The yeti x is more clear while the elgato is more muted. But I do like the softer sound of the elgato compared to the harsher sound of the yeti x. This video helped me in my choice of mic! Elgato wave 3 it is ♥
seems like a nice choice, but in Black Friday Season, Yeti is 50 bucks cheaper. That to me is a tiebreaker. Not being a streamer, and being on a budget, it's hard to justify the investment on the Elgato in this condition.
@@caverna_dev Oh yeah on black friday you should go for the cheaper one! They're both very good microphones :) when I got my elgato it was cheaper than the yeti x :) It's all about preference and budget :D
Me too bought one, this X model, on holidays prices from Amazon for $120, along with pop filter , can't wait to get them all along with my new PC i9 desktop computer and Insta360 link computer Camera
Good review, though I cant say I agree with your sentiment of "Diminishing returns for an XLR" ....the quality, when paired with an audio interface is significantly better.
Nice, personally I wish I could stream with elgato stuff and especially a mic, but I got a capture card and a small settup for Christmas so I could probably stream some wii u or switch games personally I feel I should get the yeti, but the wave 3 looks Great also, I might get that instead. Great video though!
If you plan on streaming on pc in the future streamline the process by going full elgato ig you can piece it together over time. Elgato had your ease of mind at the forefront. Learning how everything works from facecam pro to stream deck to wave link shouldn't even take a week of toying around with to essentially master the stuff. That's how easy Elgato makes it for the user.
That clip guard might be good as hell for singing tho, sometimes I dont hold back on certain letters all you hear is a terrible mess, but I hear you when you say it gets better raw audio
What is your opinion on the fact that you need to plug your headphones into the mic in order to properly use the software. That restricts you from using high impedance headphones with a DAC/amp
Some DACs come with a line in, that's where I plug my Yeti X into, then I change the mic/pc mix to strictly mic on the mic. Just need to make sure to turn off monitoring in the app you're using to record, since it's already on through the mic.
Thx this video was really helpful. But I could really use an answer for this question as well. I need a microphone to record sounds (and music) for game development. I'm looking mostly at the Yeti X. But I would need a little extra pitch on wich one of these that you would be recommended the most.

I'm still not sure which one would be better for simple ol' zoom calls and the like. The video mentions STREAMING a hell of a LOT but I don't understand if he means that is interchangeable with zoom calling or simple video calling. Can anyone clarify this for me please? It would be very much appreciated as I would like to buy one of these two.
Which sucks is that I stream and they both are on sale. I’ve been using a snowball and loved it but the wave 3 has such a simple software to separate audio. Ik I can’t go wrong with both but it’s tuff😂
Always had problems with Blue Yeti mics. Tries the snowball, the X, the $100 one. Always either some connection problem, some problem with the build, or just how it sounds. Who knows how many times people in games say I sound all static-like or just blasted like the microphones condensing tech isn't working right.
Really enjoy using the Yeti x however the software needs a update. You have to have a certain resolution any bigger and it will not load. (for me anyway) Also the software wont load because it cant detect my mic which is very annoying.
Odd question here, but with the headphone jack, is it good quality? Should I plug my headphone through the microphones or directly through the computer?
I'm not positive, but I believe it should be the same output. One advantage is that you also have the ability listen to the mic through the headphones as well
Of these 2, the wave 3 will probably be better, but if you are in a very noisy environment you would be much better off with a Dynamic mic like the Shure MV7 or the Rode Podcaster.
Not sure if you still need to know this but they both are pretty equal ( I think) cuz they are both condenser mic But the elgato would pick up more i think Bec it doesn't have a cardio setting

Yes it does, you just have to turn off “switch output device automatically” and select your input and output device manually, and I think you need to update the firmware by using the elgato wave link software

The dealbreaker when choosing between the 2 came to wavelink. That software is just too intuitive.
@@gjallarhorn456 well that software is a bit of work. But it works perfectly with OBS for when I'm streaming and to keep sound down on sertain apps :)

Informative. Thank you sir 💯
Excellent review! Keep making more comparisons. I was curious, which microphone are you using in this video? It seems to sound great.
I'm using the Shure MV7
Oh It sounds great, it doesn't sound like a dynamic microphone. Thank you

great video, very professional. subbed
I’m still using the same Yeti Blue that I’ve had for 10 years
Good video but timestamps should be in the description
Perfect timing with this I really need something more professional that won't break the bank...thank you!😊
Great video!
you can change the gain from software of yeti x than the 2nd or 3rd level so you can accuratly set it up

Curious to know if you got any copyright strikes from the Mario music in the bg? Great video btw. Helped me figure out which mic to get.

Is Elgato good for singing?
Savior of Content Creators right here.
What in the actual fuck is Trevor and the virgin 2? And why in the fuck did I get an ad for it?
O melhor padrão para usar no Blue Yet é o Omni, Carduoid, bidirecional ou sterio?
Like and sub just for giving timestamps right from start, real MVP
Do either of these work well from about 18 inches away? Looking for something for work calls and it would be nice to keep it out of frame.
Both mics would definitely do well! The Yeti's live volume meter would probably be helpful to monitor how loud you are
The people's hero!

Whats the best mic for not having background sound
Of these 2, the wave 3 will probably be better, but if you are in a very noisy environment you would be much better off with a Dynamic mic like the Shure MV7 or the Rode Podcaster.
Good luck with dynamic mics, they’re expensive as fuck.
The very good ones at least,

Can this work Nvidia shadowplay for normal youtube gaming videos. I am not streaming anything soon yet.
dose the elgato work on console like the ps5?
Yes it does, you just have to turn off “switch output device automatically” and select your input and output device manually, and I think you need to update the firmware by using the elgato wave link software
Just letting you know: mics don’t sound as good on Console as it would on pc
music was a bit weird, but I found the video helpful.. thanks
