    So cool to see a trail version of the More! This may be just what I need for my easy days on the trails! Thanks for this one! Keep pushing Dustin!

    I got the road version last year and they served me very well. Now they are shot and I am looking for something new. As I am running trails for my easy and recovery runs, I have decided to get these as a replacement. Thanks for the review.

    • @wezzla

      While the road shoe fits me perfectly in size 43 EU, the trail shoe seems a bit too small. Upper is now way close to flexible as the road shoe and the toe protector is super hard. Also the left heel is a bit loosy goosy compared to the right one which makes going up in size questionable.
      Will the toe box expand after some time?

  • @ericperramond3463
    @ericperramond3463 2 года назад +3

    Agreed - certainly better (for me) than the SG5, I went with D on width and you're right, the toebox volume is a little tight for a NB product but still OK for the first 30-50 miles of a 100. But the tongue/collar, traction, are awesome and it WILL save your legs. Fantastic shoe - but if you're doing water crossings, not sure I'd be wearing it for more than 30 miles as it does not breathe or drain all that well... Great review.

      The woven upper does NOT breathe well? Asking because my feet run hot and I live in a very humid climate, I need good ventilation..

    • @ericperramond3463
      @ericperramond3463 Год назад

      @@Matasky2010 Yeah, bit of a sponge for water I'm afraid. I'd be avoiding this in the tropics (or again, any water crossing, or both).

      @@ericperramond3463 Just to clarify, my main concern is purely ventilation to cool my foot, no concerns about water penetration- I rarely run in wet conditions and only doing a couple miles max. As long as air can get thru the upper I'm usually happy. I usually test by sticking my hand in the shoe and blowing air thru the upper, as long as I can feel it I'm good to go. I appreciate the feedback!

      @@Matasky2010 OK - well - you can gamble, but I might honestly wait on v3 coming out in the next month or so (I think?) - supposed to have a better upper. It's a great shoe (v2) and a lot depends on the kind of terrain you need to run on. Hard to find max cush for trails AND A light upper, is all I'm saying. *end of my thread* LOL

    Thanks for posting. I was wearing the Brooks Caldera 4 forever and absolutely loved it. I tried the Caldera 6 and felt it was a disaster. So, I've been trying different shoes (Hoka Speedgoat 5, Hoka Mafate Speed 4, and these NBs) and I'm really digging the NBs. The fit is incredible for my foot and, while very cushioned, it doesn't have that squishy feel that turns me off. I wish it was a bit lighter, but you can't have everything! I feel like I'm sitting on "top" of the Speedgoat 5, which is a feeling I don't like. Thanks again.

    Thanks for review Dustin, I'm looking at the NB More Trail V2 to replace my Salomon Ultraglides in a few months so your review has been helpful. Could you say how many kms/miles you have put in so far, and how have you found their durability as there are some mixed comments about that on the NB website.

      Thanks for watching. So the pair with the most is sitting at about 110 miles, I have had no durability issues to this point. they still look and feel great.

    I'd like a good trail shoe for backpacking. The men's 2E SG4, so far, has been the best fit for me out of a multitude of shoes. Still a tiny bit tight at my fifth met head. I currently have this NB shoe, 8, 2E, and SG5, 8.5, 2E, on order. I hope at least one works. I thought I'd read this NB trail had a particularly wide toe box but I guess I was mistaken. I will be curious to see how it compares to the Hoka as I feel Hoka's tend to run a little bit narrow. I don't know that I could ever find a woman's shoe to fit my foot correctly.

      @DustinHallUltraRunner  2 года назад

      Hello!, I went up a 1/2 size and got a wide in the SG5's and still had some pressure on the fith met head, The New Balance I got Wide and have had no issue, just did 29 hours straight and still no issues, best of luck to you, I know how frustrating it can be.

      @@DustinHallUltraRunner Did you size up in the NB or went true to size? I've read some reviewers have gone up a half size but others say true to size. My SG5 wide run true to size and fit almost perfectly.

    How would this stack up against say the G300, friends love their inov8 but I'm looking for something that'll be a good hybrid trail shoe that'll give them a run for the money 👍

    • @DustinHallUltraRunner
      @DustinHallUltraRunner  2 года назад +1

      Big of a hard comparison, The G300 is a good durable shoe that will last a long time. The NB are more comfortable over all, under foot, and I like the lock down better, The g300 might have better traction in muddy conditions. But unless it was bad out I would reach for my NB over my G300's
