I am going to school to be a sign language interpreter, and I was worried about how locs would be taken in my field. I started my locs in July (so about 2.5 months loc'd) so by the time I graduate and go into my career they should be pretty mature, and at the same time I'll be established in my career having locs from the beginning. I'm still a little apprehensive about how my locs and I will be taken, but I get a little more confident each day. And I'd say I retwist once every 3 weeks and shampoo and moisturize as necessary, but not much else and they're locing nicely. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to share. Love the channel!! Stay blessed!!💙💙✌✌

I don't know where you live but there might be classes like that in your area. My classes did a lot using Bill Vicars, he's amazing!! And before the program I knew a little sign language, I had taken some classes before

For merch, a boatneck t-shirt is a little more comfy to wear. Plus unique amongst most merch being offered!

I can see why some people may be critical of starting locs with extensions; but I also think it's important to do what works for you and makes the journey more enjoyable. It would be cool to see how that goes for you.

The awkward stage can be annoying and I understand why some would do love extensions. Hey do you! I really need to exercise. I heard that along with healthy eating helps the journey. The problem with me is time and it's cold!

What about interlocked locs...to start and maintain your locs? I am on my third set of locs. I have had my current locs for nearly 4 months now. This is the longest I have been able to keep my locs...and I think it is because I started with interlocking my hair. I am loving this journey so far and don't anticipate the desire to end my loc journey as I have done in the past. My hair is very dense and kinky and I am maintaining with palm rolling because I want my locs to be on the thicker side, but I think your hair texture would thrive with interlocking because of your looser texture. I have seen people on YT who interlock who do a 2 point rotation to cultivate thicker locs while using the interlocking method. Ayway... I am excited to see your new loc journey. I love your channel. Thank for the loc content :).

Congrats for finishing that run. I ran 14 today (I've become a long distance runner somehow). I am in the same boat as you with the locs since my hair is 6 months growth. I'm in the process of my own merch through shopify. Hit me up.

Would you be willing to try faux locs as a test drive?
I do yoga 2-4 times weekly. As a working wife/mother it sometimes is the only time I get to myself.
