- In todays video I install the Acuity 10th Gen Civic Fully Adjustable Performance Short Shifter. This install was a little challenging but the results of this shifter is just MIND BLOWING! I’ve had the short shifter for awhile now, the shortest setting is way to short for me to daily. Shorter=stiffer. I recommend an extended height shift knob, to make things easier! Check out raceseng’s shift knobs! They make very high quality products

Got the stage 2 kit and the same knob, quality parts that make quite the difference. Wanted the shift assembly, I couldn't justify spending 500 on it though.

I am finding it hard to look at that price tag myself, but the quality looks pretty high up there. What would be a cheaper alternative to you? I am looking to buy the Si in the next few months and I am trying to build a list of mods that I want to do to it.
@@gasher70 I think the stage 2 shift kit and esco knob is the best way to go for the price. The whole assembly allows custom throw and gate spacing, it would be nice. But for the price, and I assume it will be your daily, I'd go with the stage 2.
@@johnryan8466 All I am really looking for is a short throw and no play in the shifter. That would be nice. Otherwise, just no play in the shifter. I gotta take a moment to look at what the stage 2 does. I appreciate the advice :)
I would have liked to have seen a test drive personally. Could you make a followup video once you've got the shifter set up to your liking with a test drive please? :3

I find this to be a hard install, I really wanted to do it on my 2019 civic si coupe but I wouldn't want to do it myself... Do you know any shops in Florida that could offer this kind of service?

Off question. Should I get my 2017 civic ext automatic tuned with flashpro? Its not a manual obviously but you have experience with flashpro so I wanted your opinion.

Take this with a grain of salt because i've never tuned a car before, but I have HEARD that people choose ktuner vs hondata because of the level of support as well as the types of tunes support their mods better. (i hear better mods are supported on ktuner)
@@gasher70 Hondata ok, used it on my 9th gen. Have ktuner V2 for my 10th gen, much better. Get a real time readout of IATs, fuel trims, air fuel ratio, you can data log with the ktuner alone, no need to drive around with a laptop sliding around on your seat. It's worth the extra cash
@@murphybayonetwork8019 cripes, i didnt know that. There is no way im running around with a laptop in my car for just this lol. I mean, i guess the more adept person could just make a respberry pi do the same job as a laptop, but then at that point you are penny pinching pretty hard or you just really like the hondata.

Roast me if you guys want. I'm not 100 percent comfortable installing this myself. The Si is my daily driver and needs to get me to work after it's ripped apart lol. I bought the stage 2 kit. What would you guys think would be fair from a mechanic for install? Labor hours wise? 2 hours max? Way less? Any input would be appreciated

Serves in the military and doesn't at least use a KA-BAR to open his boxes... Brah! :P But seriously, get a Benchmade or a SpyderCo of some kind. You are going to seriously shank yourself with those stupid scissors. I am an IT guy and I am staring at no less than 3 knives in front of me and a multitool in my pocket and another in my EDC bag...
Also, I enjoy watching your build on your Si but you need to seriously get a suction mount so you can place your camera for the shots and have both your hands free. I know it will make shooting take a smidge longer but you have all that glass around you and you aren't using it. Even a good Gorillapod wrapped around the B pillar. Its those little things that upgrade the quality that much more.
