That is such a cool route! In SC I like traveling on SC-72, a route that has some beautiful landmarks around the way and is also a great alternate if you don't want to use I-85, its less busy and goes parallel to the interstate, although its pretty far from the interstate, its totally worth it!

Definitely a very rural road. My list, west-east, is quite simple: U.S. 41-Brook-Monon-Buffalo-Royal Center-Metea-Roann-Huntington.
Next summer, when I do another road trip around the country, I’ll get to experience how dull the country roads in Indiana are. Not this route; I’m thinking of using U.S. 50 as a dividing line between north and south, with this upcoming one going east and coming back west following the Gulf Coast and U.S.-Mexico border.
Somehow, I knew your intro music would be JCM; up there with Michael Jackson and Babyface among the most popular artists from the state. Going back to my plan to bisect the country via U.S. 50, I’ll get to go through his Small Town hometown!

Hi, Todd! I'm a pastor who lives in Denver, about a block north of SR-16. I've been living here for just over three years. Thank you for doing a video on this highway!
I respectfully disagree when you say that it is the dullest road; I think it would be more appropriate to call it the most relaxing highway - or perhaps the least stressful highway - because of its lack of traffic. I very much enjoy driving on it, and I have driven on it many times between SR-25 and SR-13, and I find it to be quite scenic in its own way. For example, I love the way it winds through a forest between US-31 and Denver. Like Royal Center, Denver also has a bike trail converted from an abandoned railroad - the Nickel Plate Trail. If you ever come to Denver, the Farmhouse Cafe is a great place to get breakfast or lunch. They make the VERY BEST sausage-egg-and-cheese biscuits. You should come over here and try them for yourself sometime!
Also, I have been to Logansport several times, and it's a good place to come and shop or get a bite to eat. I highly recommend a Mexican restaurant on the east side of town called Mr. Chips & Salsa. It's on Market Street (Old US-24). My favorite dishes to get there are huevos con chorizo and arroz con camerones. You should go there and try them for yourself!
And also, you did pronounce "Roann" correctly. Roann has an amazing pizza joint called "Bailey's Pizza Parlor". That's another restaurant you should try! There is a mill in the unincorporated community of Stockdale, which is a mile or so west of Roann, and it is beautiful! My wife loves driving past it!
Anyway, thanks again for making this video. It was great to see the highway that passes through my adopted hometown get a RUclips video all its own!

"No Access to I-65." Yeah this can be a lifesaver in the event of trying to navigate around traffic jams. Was coming home from the Indiana Dunes (I recommend this over Indiana Beach, but that's just my bias against theme parks. Being autistic can be quite the handicap there so I'm not gonna knock on Todd here for something that means so much to him) one year, and right at Exit 215 (the exit for Indiana Beach if you're coming from north. Longtime watcher, first time commenter if you can't figure it out. Can claim a pre-1K badge lol) traffic like stopped. It wasn't stop and go, JUST STOPPED.
Got off at that exit and you could see traffic just wasn't moving from the ramp alone, and it was stretching for miles. So navigating country roads to get around the mess IN-16 was found. Now traffic was REALLY BAD in this situation... you couldn't even get onto I-65 and it was even backing up past the ramps themselves and onto US-231. Felt like it was straight out of a Cities Skylines save file (Petition for Todd to play that game so he can delete those Limon Signs in a Denver map and replace them lol) where I-65's traffic jam began to bleed onto connecting routes.
That is unless you went on the IN-16 Overpass. Got the best view of the mess and it was barely moving... at most 5mph. Even better was its connection to IN-39 which at the time would have taken my tails home (not anymore, and I plan to leave the state altogether at some point). Overpowered route that remained hidden until 2011 if I've ever seen it. Sometimes it's good to be dull and not have an interstate connection.

Been to all of the surrounding cities- never Logansport? It's pretty boring to be fair.
Made the journey from Kokomo to Buffalo a lot growing up. This road is basically a glorified country road crossing most of the state. Still though, the Monticello/I-65 part of this road can be useful. Anything east of Royal Center is pretty bland.

Eventually, US 31 will be upgraded to a freeway. I doubt that there will be an interchange between the two roads.

After watching this video I feel only a real MONON would make this video. Okay terrible effort there, but it seemed that this had to be a video you dread making.

It's time to head to the farms and plains of Northern Indiana. Indiana is one of the farming states in the Midwest just east of the Mississippi.

NY 16 starts in downtown Buffalo and goes south into the hills and valleys of the Appalachians.

@@Handle_Needs_3_Or_More_Charact See, that's not bad. MD/DE 16 is very rural road connecting the Chesapeake Bay and a rural beach.
