  • In this episode, Maeve takes us into the world of the people who taught us how to drink coffee and appreciate good olive oil; those who showed us the simple deliciousness of pizza and pasta, scaloppine and saltimbocca: the fabulous Italians. Learn how to choose the top ten ingredients to begin an Italian pantry as Maeve joins her old friend, hospitality consultant Sam Cosentino.

    8:55 what he did is simply disgusting, I'm 100% Italian, born and raised in Italy, where I still live and I've never seen anyone disintegrate a peeled tomato with his hands like he did. If I saw a cook doing this in a restaurant, I would walk away. He said "this is part of the process", well, that's not true.

    • @TheLeoBianco1
      @TheLeoBianco1 5 лет назад +1

      I mean most people wouldn’t, obviously you could crush it further with utensils.
      But using your hands is integral to many processes, such as making fresh pasta, pizza base or even cheese

    • @MrItaliansound
      @MrItaliansound 5 лет назад +1

      @@TheLeoBianco1 I can agree if you do it privately at home, in a restaurant when you cook for other people, no, it's not an elegant thing to do and there are also health rules. He could at least wear gloves.
