interesting fact for you. When you remove the pollen cap from a cattleya it usually contains up to 4 pollen pieces. What you are meant to do is dig around in the pollen cap once you have removed it. There will be a sticky strand inside. The pollen cap is like a glove that should be removed and discarded. You had the whole pollen cap including what I presume contained 4 pollen all on your tooth pick. With some luck if you placed it the right way round it should pollinate the flower but like said generally you remove the pollen cap first before using the pollen on the next flower.
@@SpencerAloysius I feel ya there. a headtorch really helps when pollinating to focus as much light on the spot you are trying to look at. Do not be scared of crushing the pollen. It is actually rock hard. Remove a nother cap from another plant and try to rip it apart as an experiment. Practice makes perfect. Otherwise plan b new glasses.

I feel very old as I can’t see the pollen pieces. It is all one blurry yellow thing.
